Thought Town might have put something out. Man City and Man Utd both did within seconds of it breaking.. we're a shit show in every department right now.

Horrible news - had the absolute pleasure of meeting him in an airport lounge c4 yrs ago and he couldn’t have been more of a gent talking with my lad about football and his fond memories of his time at town. Hope he copes with the condition well and best wishes to him for managing the condition……….there are good players, excellent players, world class players and legends - he is the latter.

Seems like a strange story/subject to have a pop at the club for... We also have far less club legends to post stories about but yes, point taken.. it's not important in the grand scheme of things but just shows that little bit of class or humility that the others chose to do so.

I'm sure the club will issue a statement in the next few hours. As you say, does the timing really matter. It will happen. I wouldn't envisage a scenario like the Queen and flying the flag at half mast after Diana died, only after public opinion was railing against her & the Royals... It'll be reet...

The club put something on Twitter but, let’s be fair, the comms team at Man Utd are much more likely to have had a head’s up than Town.

THE greatest player my Dad always said he saw play in a Town shirt. Saw him on the after dinner circuit, must be 25-30 years ago, with George Best. Hilarious double act. If only I’d got both their autographs at the time 😩

I've been watching the game for 65+ years and if there have been five more exciting and stylish players in that time I would like someone to tell me who they were. All the best to Mr. Law in his upcoming battle.

If only I’d got both their autographs at the time 😩 I've got a fantastic momento of a now very faded Polaroid photograph of me with Denis taken after 'Lunch with Legend' in Harrogate in the late 80's or early 90's. He was genuinely happy to talk for quite a while once he found out I was a Town fan 👍

I can spot the dementia ‘look’ a mile away without even having to speak to people. It’s heartbreaking really.

It’s an horrendous way to end your days. It must be so frightening to know that slowly you will start to forget little things but as time passes you progress to being confused and forgetting the most basic and stable things in your life, like partner and family. There can be nothing more upsetting than a loved one turning round and asking who you are. It’s such a cruel disease that Family end up losing a loved one twice. You mourn the passing of the person that they once were and of course when they leave this mortal coil, You mourn them again. It's something my Mum and Dad dread, and as such, try to keep the grey cells busy each day with Crosswords, Word Serches and sudoku. All the best to Dennis and his family. Hope it takes hold very slowly.

It is a very common disease actually. 80% of all 80 year old people are dementing. At 90 all are to some extent. I wish Denis well. A difficult disease but mostly one of ageing. He was an exceptional talent.

Only have one soccer hero and it's him. I was broken hearted the night they sold him to City. Remember clearly listening to the radio about 10 p.m. that night and praying he wouldn't be sold. He was of course. All the best to him now.

He was an exceptional talent. I'm very lucky indeed, then - three of my four parents (don't ask) are 84, 87 and 87 and all in complete control of their marbles. Long may they remain so too!

My mum will be 98 in November, physically she’s slowing down but thinks nothing of walking a mile or so into Birstall, and mentally she is still as sharp as a tack. No suggestion that she’s struggling in any way mentally, her memory is incredible, so I’m not sure I agree with your comment above. She has always kept herself active, physically and mentally, and that is the key. Her only problem is her deafness.

Dreadful disease - and one that has various facets. From the passive to the agressive. From the lucid to the non-lucid. Bonne chance Dennis- a legend in every aspect of his life !

Very stoic in the message he put out and how he intends to meet the challenges he now faces. From one Scottish lad to another Denis.. show the same grit and determination you did for Huddersfield Town and your other clubs to tackle this as best you can. I’m sure I can speak for all us HTAFC fans in saying that we are with you every step of the way on your forward journey.. All the very best now and always Denis.
