And to think, if we'd signed Tommy Doyle and a n other 7 figure midfielder we'd have probably got more on Saturday and would really be knocking on the door.
This is the best window in 5 years and the coaching staff are working without a creative midfielder, not for the lack of trying.

Nicholls for the difference he has made to the backline. But Tom Lees has not put a foot wrong in Town colours yet. Leader and dependable centre half. Just gets the job done. And to think how much both men were being lauded by the experts on here as poor signings, before they'd even kicked a ball in a Town shirt. I started blocking "the hard of thinking" but there weren't many left. I considered blocking myself due to a couple of "popped up" posts.

Nicholls over Schofield is worth double figure points over a season, even as many as 15 to 20 I questioned the signing but he looks very good so far Wonder what the score v Fulham would have been with Nicholls in goal...? i thought we had good spells against them (early on). the cockups killed us.

Nicholls. His presence has transformed the way the team plays.

I think the fact we’ve started well and not seen Ruffels, Pipa, Mipo and Rhodes properly yet is a huge bonus . We were all sceptical of the recruitment but it’s been bang on in most if not all cases Plus: Rowe Grant Aarons The future’s bright, it’s blue and white…

For me it is between Nichols and Lee but all the signings have been very good, pity we didn't get that lad from Man City but i am more than happy with our squad now, a long way to go but at least we are looking forward to the game's now. Yes, i still think we are left a bit light in Centre-Midfield, in terms of numbers/quality. A couple of injuries and we'll be powder puff. Stark contrast to the vast array of wide options we have. Will be interesting to see how/if Pipa fits back in when fit. It is a great problem to have, possibly 3-5-2 Pearson Lees Colwill - Pipa Hogg Sinani (playing as a 10) O'Brien Toffolo - Thomas Koroma would be my first choice

Lees seems to be good value for money.
Town certainly didn't go for the dregs with that signing.

I know he wasn't signed in the summer but he's just as new to the first team as Nicholls/Lees/Pearson etc.
Sorba Thomas is the the "find" of the season.

Got to be Pearson considering the goals he’s getting and clean sheets. But Nichols and Lees definitely up there, they’ve all improved us a lot.
I have a sneaky feeling Sinani will be the player everyone is talking about by Christmas though.

3 clean sheets and 3 goals in 8 appearances, it's got to be Matty Pearson. No nonsense defender who clearly loves playing for the club. Two disallowed goals aswell which were harsh. Brilliant signing 👏

Brilliant signing 👏 He might not be a cultured ball playing centre half - but he’s a tough as nails 100% defender who must be hell to mark at set pieces. Reminds me of Peter Clarke . He’ll do for me.

Ive only seen 2 games but credit to the recruitment team and CC re the acquisitions of nicholls, pearson, lees and thomas. None big household names but all hungry, dedicated and 100% committed. A far cry from isaac, the cyst riddled gnome and diarrhoea!!!

Just exactly what Town need for the rigours of one of the toughest, competitive and unforgiving leagues in the world... Best signing so far ? A very tough question indeed and of course glad it is as it means HTAFC have recruited well across the board... I’ll probably go with the folks above and Pearson or Nicholls... but been pretty good all round. They’ve had a lot (of deserved flak) for previous failures... so take a bow for a very decent transfer window in close season 2021 !

He is exactly what this club needed. Full blooded CB. Peter Clarke is definitely the player I'd compare him to. Let him head, kick & tackle, players like Colwill (another excellent singing) can play the ball out of defence.

Either:
Nicholls - I don't like the Schofield-bashing, but feel a lot more confident with him between t'sticks.
or
Pearson - Tenner says he'll get double-figures....maybe before the half-way point of the season, if they don't keep getting disallowed. Looks pretty solid doing his actual job, too.
Colwill and Lees deserve a special mention.

I think he is, but he's not in the same league as the last 3 we've had in that position, mooy, Smith rowe and eting, he's a good option as is vejello, but if we'd got even 1 of the 2 we were supposed to be after i think we'd be in with a chance of staying in the mix. As it is we've got a very good championship team with solid back up in every area, except possibly the midfield, was the point really.

Nicholls for the difference his confidence and decision making has made to the defence. We could all see that GK was THE position that most needed addressing, but I'm not sure many would have predicted just how profound and immediate the effect would be.
Colwill is another fantastic piece of business. A top prospect who must have been highly sought after. Kudos to the recruitment team for convincing both Chelsea and the player that relegation fodder Huddersfield was the place to come.
