Increasing rumours that he’s signed I wouldn't listen to rumours Lovechops. Unless it's the Fleetwood mac album

Alex will not sign here
Middlesbrough and Sheffield United are sniffing.
He will end up north of the border though

Increasing rumours that he’s signed Unless we're selling Nicholls (and if we are I hope we're getting a pretty penny for him) I'd be very surprised. Wages would be far too high to sit on the bench in the championship, and unless Nicholls is injured, suspended or turns out to be a one season wonder he's not likely to get much game time. Boro seems most likely destination to me. Had we gone up I'd be all over that, but it doesn't seem like a good use of budget.

Agree. I’d be very reluctant to let Nicholls go but if we got a tidy fee for him you wouldn’t blame him or us. Even then I’d want a top class replacement like Smithies.
Can’t see either happening this Summer but it’s a funny old game and especially so in the closed season.

Only got a year on his contract, no option. So my guess is he'll sign an improved one (he won't be on big money having come from MK Dons) or we'll cash in. Hopefully the former.

Only way that you would sell Nichols is to reinvest the money into the squad. If O’Brien is leaving then we have £12m, why would we sell Nichols? Unless O’Brien wanted to stay for another crack and we wanted to cash in on at least one player to fund our tilt at promotion.

Because we get offered silly money? If a PL side comes in for him, realistically he's going to want to go. Not least because unless he's playing in the Premier League he can forget about being on the plane to Germany in 2024.

Seems pretty pointless if you ask me. Wasn’t pulling up trees at MK, so think it’s a really weird one. Has a good season and we have to sell to cash in, if he has a bad season, we are stuck with him for 2 years. Just when you’d want to try hold a squad together because they’ve done a great job as a unit and want to push on, you gotta sell. SMH.
