Would like us to sign 1 x CM and 1 x striker
Think Vallejo will be released and Brown in the summer
Ideally would like 2 x replacements signed and loan one out for next season
With Mipo returned, Rhodes no preseason (playing well) would like a loan striker to end of season Campbell just have as a 4th striker till contract expires in summer Phillips comes back in summer and give him a run

Outs > Schofield (loan or buy) High (loan for game time) Reece Brown (sell) Rolando Aarons ?? Odubeko?? Campbell?? In> Back up keeper/ someone to push Nicholls A central midfield option (whether it's internal in Brown or Russell or a new player to the club) An attacking midfield option, someone to create Depending on what happens with Odubeko and Campbell, then a striker. Ideally someone in his prime I wouldn't be surprised if we pinch a lesser known talent from non-league or abroad to develop ala Thomas, Danny Grant etc (On Grant, I'd keep him for the B team) Well, proper stoked with that Schofield is going under the knife, out for the season, so can't go out. Brown is gone, on loan but his contract expires. We hold onto Aarons and Campbell, but that's okay. Odubeko has gone back I got the three Ins I was after with Blackman, Eiting and this Chelsea lad. Add in we kept the squad together, while allowing youngsters the chance to gain experience on loan. All in all, a fantastic window. Let's hope Eiting and Anjorin can give us that extra edge and push us into the playoffs

Think it would be worth having a look at some of the foreigners who were plying their trade in Ukraine. Not as a picking over the carcass job, but if we were to go up, we could get some players in on loans to provide them with a shop window, or even buy.

If we don’t go up I’d be OK with a double raid on Reading for Lucas Joao and John Swift. Realistic targets and Reading might be needing to cut their losses.

John Swift seems to have been around for years, yet he’s only 26 or so? Prime years ahead of him.

Swift would be good, along with another player of a similar ilk as insurance in case of injury.
Or to put it another way, the back-up player would be Swift cover.

If/when Lewis O'Brien ends up leaving, and we have a long term view to a successor rather than someone to immediately slot in as our best player, then I think Paddy Lane from Fleetwood would be a good signing. Born in Halifax, he's a left footed midfielder who's had a brilliant breakthrough season in a crap side, 5 goals and 8 assists. A bit more attack minded, he started out on the right wing much like O'Brien and could definitely be moulded into O'Brien's role, or could even further forward

I suspect there are two lists of players, as always, for whichever division we are in. And I hope it’s not just me that finds that exciting? Getting in another set of Bosman’s & free’s as per last year would be all good by me.
The years of spunking money are behind us hopefully.

If we keep up with signing ex-town players (see Holmes, Ward, Rhodes...) and free signings.. We could see Smithies and Izzy Brown back,.
Preston manager ""They had an opportunity to showcase what they could do," Lowe said.
He told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I have high standards and unfortunately they didn't meet those standards. I wish them both the best."
Poor Izzy, got injured not long after signing, and not able to play due to it.
Can't really see either returning. Izzy hasn't settled anywhere and seems to get injured alot. While Smithies, I can't see him coming to be back up to Nicholls.

I’d like to be looking at players like this for whichever league we may be in, for the Prem;
Reece Oxford 2 goals & 1 assist in 28 matches for Augsburg. Centre back averaging a 7.03 rating. -has stated he wants to come back to the prem: would probably want london so could see him going to somewhere like Fulham.
Reiss Nelson 2 goals & 4 assists in 20 matches for Feyenoord. Winger averaging a 7.17 rating. -Not had much luck at Arsenal but seemed to do well at Hoffenheim, could only see it being a loan if we managed it.
Noni Madueke 3 goals & 2 assists in 15 matches for PSV. Winger averaging a 6.98 rating, currently INJURED. -highly rated by a lot of English clubs so realistically couldn’t see it happening but you never know with prem money.
Marcus Edwards 9 gls and 3 assists in 28 matches for Sporting Lisbon winger averaging 7.74. - was highly rated at Tottenham but moved to get game time and is thriving. Probably too pricey.
Jon swift 11 goals 13 assists 38 matches Attacking mid 7.47 -would take him in champ also, will probably end up somewhere like West Brom.
Scott twine 20 goals 13 assists 45 matches Attacking mid 7.72 -stats speak for themselves.
Alfredo Morelos 11 goals 7 assists 26 matches Striker 7.58 -long shot and I’m sure he’d rather play European football but again prem money talks.
Free agents; Sean Longstaff 1 goal 1 assist 21 matches Centre mid 6.71 - out of contract and oil money might deem him surplus, could see him getting a bigger club though.
Tarkowski - bigger clubs about but out of contract so put him in here.
Pascal groß - out of contract, could be a good bit of business
Kouyate 32 - absolute unit in the middle of midfield or defence.
Juan mata 34 - Spanish link, that is all.
Foster- good experienced keeper, could be perfect for schofield, and good exposure on his YouTube channel.
Ben brereton 21 goals 3 assists 36 matches, probably already has a club lined up but out of contract.
CHAMP Scott twine - may not be manageable in the champ but would if we could.
Callum Lang 15 goals 7 assists 42 matches Winger 7.13 from Wigan.
Paul Mullin 25 goals 0 assists 36 matches Striker. Scored goals and in his prime, plus we like an ex player.
Nick Powell 6 goals 1 assist 17 matches Cm 7.14- always does wel against us but not sure if injured for most of season with only 17 played.
Keane Lewis potter 11 goals 3 assists 45 matches winger 7.07 l. Might even end up in the prem with a lower team (hopefully us) but a baller.
Daniel Barlaser 9 goals 7 assists 44 matches Cm 7.59
Cameron Brannagan 14 goals 3 assists 41 matches 7.49

Daniel Barlaser 9 goals 7 assists 44 matches Cm 7.59 Cameron Brannagan 14 goals 3 assists 41 matches 7.49 Wrote out a long post but typically of DATM, it dropped out and doesn’t save what you’ve written, unlike other websites. So I’ll let you look them up if you are interested. A DM is a must: Ladislav Krejci - 23 - DM, left footed, technical, good in the tackle and tall(can also play CB). Has an eye for goal so would be exactly what Sorba would be targeting. Hidemasa Morita - 26 - DM, from Japan and has moved to Portugal and made the step up. Think he’d be what we need next to Lewis, despite his height a strong player and very technical on the ball. Some cheap wingers is a must: Cristian Pavon - LW who has previously been linked to Arsenal. Move has never eventuated, Argentine international, available on a free. Solbaken from Bodo/Glimt - RW who took apart Roma and Celtic. Has 6 months to run and I think he would be available for less than £3m. Some defense: Calvin Ramsay - 19 - RB from Aberdeen. Highly rated and could be a solution in either the PL or Championship. Siegrist - GK from Dundee Utd - would be great competition for Nichols and available on a free. Harry Soutar- Stoke left CB - currently out injured with an ACL, however he was instrumental in Stoke’s good form and it was no coincidence that both Stoke and Australia lost form after his injury. Another who would be great to have around for set pieces. For the Championship: Marco Tilio - Just been capped for Australia - 20 - AM/LW who would be one to develop here. Exciting player who can beat a man, pass and score. Has been developing well and would be a good one for our B team to quickly step up to the first team.

If we got Keane Lewis Potter whilst still in the championship I would be very surprised.
Hull are reportedly planning to invest big this summer to mount a challenge for promotion. The only way their best players are leaving is if really good money is offered by a club in the Premier League.

I do think when you see some suggestions, you start to realise why people get cheesed off - many have too high expectations, in part by not considering factors, such as you allude to. Not knocking the overall post! I could barely name a player outside the EPL, Champ and top European teams!

Merely he's one of only a few in that post that I'd actually heard of so I could express an opinion!

Not knocking the overall post! I could barely name a player outside the EPL, Champ and top European teams! I think when you look at those 2 lists, the point is there are some very good players available for free or very little cash outlay. While like many, I was concerned about our recruitment, however i think they have proved themselves to be decent this year. I guess what this year showed was patience was required. Since I’ve laid down my list, I’ve seen all of them play at least one game, some many more, and done some research into them. If anything, it’s worth putting names on here because you never know who might be looking, that’s some peoples job, to constantly look for players who suit our club. You just never know, they may go looking for one player, only to find another. With regards to one player on my list, Ramsay from Aberdeen, I mentioned him in the January transfer window, who will now probably go to Liverpool for £4m and be sent out immediately on loan. While we couldn’t afford him in January for £2-3m, while looking at Ferguson as a replacement, our scouts could have taken a look at him with the hopes of buying him if we went up. As I said though, Liverpool are sniffing about so is unlikely, but we need to be looking at multiple players in that £2-5m bracket to build a team in the Premier league.
