This is a thread just for people to see which players other clubs are bringing in aswell as us. It can be rumours or done deals.
Brighton's out-of-favour forward Aaron Connolly is on the verge of joining Middlesbrough on loan as Chris Wilder eyes attacking reinforcements for promotion push.
Good signing for wilder men that.

Town get some new signings by simply getting some players back from injury and staying covid free?

Rumours going around that Acrrington striker Dion Charles who was linked with us in the summer has had a fall out with John Coleman over a contract dispute and he's heading to Bolton for 300k

Can't see us doing a lot in this window... perhaps a couple. There is one player that we need to send back to his parent club though.

Depends how the club view it really whatever the opinion on the football is we’re currently 6th it’s really not a strong league this year, a couple of good loans could easily keep us up in and around the play offs area. I think we will do do some business but either loans or the chance to sign a player we’ve been after on a reduced fee.

we need a midfield general sharpish. Hogg is expected to be back from injury during the transfer window. By the time the stand-in for Hogg arrives, Hogg will be back.

Hogg is expected to be back from injury during the transfer window. By the time the stand-in for Hogg arrives, Hogg will be back. How long will he last though? His injury record of late isn’t great. Fair point & I'd accept that his powers may be beginning to wane. I think the first question has to be what do we want from this season? Ordinarily I'd see us in 6th & suggest we push the boat out to push for promotion, but for all that our league position says otherwise, I just don't see us as serious promotion contenders this year. We're miles behind Fulham & Bournemouth, we don't have the financial clout of a lot of our rivals to push on, and I have a general feeling that some of the sides around us have underperformed up to now (& are likely to do a lot better in the 2nd half of the season - whilst we've got about as much as we could realistically expect out of our current squad. It would be easier to make the call to keep powder dry if we were a few places lower. It would be easier to call for a promotion push if we were looking like genuine promotion condenders. On balance, unless a key player leaves or gets a long term injury, or there's just a brilliant deal to be had (& they're less likely at this time of year), I'd look to play the long game. It's not as exciting in the short term as a new signing going straight into the first team, but if we can get Diarra, Camara & Russell a bit more involved in the latter part of this season we could be very well stocked in the centre of midfield. I suppose the question I'd ask is how much would we need to spend to become serious promotion contenders, and do we have that money? Or alternaively, how much would you spend to turn us from (say) a 15th placed side to a 10th placed one?

His 433 has morphed into a 343 and could easily turn into a 352. I personally think we’ve been a bit light on in the midfield to carry a 343 out and if we are to progress further, then we need a midfielder who can pair with O’Brien who’s better than what we have. Even if we go back to a 433 we need that extra midfielder who has the class to take the ball in tight spots. If Hogg goes back to turning on the ball and not just knocking it back to a CB then we are in business. So for me, it’s just one classy midfielder that we need to take us to the next level.

There’s an Aussie midfielder that has broken through over the last year or so, he has been playing for Australia in the absence of Mooy and geez he gives me those Mooy vibes. Currently not getting the game time he wants at a level above where we are at, so I’ve passed on the details to the club. Think he’d be the type of loan we need, and possibly make the impact we need.

We’ll sign now one IMHO.
We’ve 3 fit strikers, and Harrett.
Hogg back soon
Pipa back soon.
Rowe etc
We’ll settle for mid table IMHO.

Kasumu is 22 years old, so he'd command a fee even if he was out of contract. As for Reece Brown, I don't think we're in a strong negotiating position there. If we can just get him off the wage bill - even if we have to contribute something towards his salary until the end of the season - it would be worthwhile. I expect that if Reece Brown is part of a swap deal we'd have to pay the other club more.

I can only think he’s referring to Hrustic - I can’t see it to be quite honest. Yep that’s the one. He’s not getting game time in the Bundesliga, has been linked to Augsburg, Real Betis and Florentina. But apart from Augsburg, I don’t think those other teams are real options and I’m not even sure Augsburg is a real option. He’s after game time and I think the top 5 leagues right now is a step to far, but he’s better than the Championship, so I think it’d be good for both parties.

Time for them to dig deep into their pockets!
