I read he was off to QPR. I don't think he has been a regular starter under Pearson and I'm not sure if it's due to how he has played or any injury problems he still has. I have seen this quote from Pearson '"To be absolutely honest with you, discussing individuals like that, he's not been included because other players have done more. Likewise, if he plays himself back into contention then so be it, fine." This sounds similar to how Wagner spoke about Palmer during our first season in the prem as I vaguely remember Wagner saying he wasn't applying himself properly in training. Palmer lost his focus when he became a Dad.

we need a midfield general sharpish. Hogg is expected to be back from injury during the transfer window. By the time the stand-in for Hogg arrives, Hogg will be back. I think we have just finally learnt to play without him. Don't get me wrong he's great but he's not getting younger and for a long time weve struggled when he's been out. Vallejo played well in that position and we've done well over this Christmas period. I wouldn't be in a rush to put him back in (I know... I've shocked myself saying that)

There is no substance to this name at all but a player we should be looking at is MK Dons forward Scott twine. He plays in between the lines and can play as a false 9 He links up play really well, he can shoot from distance takes a decent free kick too. He could work really well for us in the system we play. Really intelligent footballer. Let's hope no-one else cottons on to this. Can he string a pass or two together?

I wouldn't be in a rush to put him back in (I know... I've shocked myself saying that) I still feel he has a (very) important role though. Loss of form, injury or suspension for High & we look very thin in that position - even with a formation that requires only 2 CMs. Hoggy is great at screening the midfield & if we're tring to protect a lead he'd be the first name I'd want on the pitch - even if it's bringing him off the bench. His experience & leadership will be vital as the season wears on. Also, I'd be keen to see Hogg alongside High & LoB in a midfield 3 - release SH to attack more & show what he can do in that role. I agree though that we are coping remarkably well in his absence. It bodes well.

We should never entered into such an agreement. Get in the real world detox I am in the real world Positive... I get it about player/agent power but the employer also should have clout, ffs if we can't persuade a 'local' lad who's been with us through the Academy and into being 1st team captain to sign a deal that's benefits both parties, frankly, we're f*cked. We're not a league 1 club having to sell to survive, we're a top Championship club in the play-offs. We should look after our main assets and anyway £10m (if correct) is bugger all. We paid that for Tom Ince . There are many ways to structure contracts but ultimately the club should be calling the shots, not the player/agent, imo. If O'Brien wants an improved contract on £30k a week (or more), give it him and if we want to sell later, we can..but this is now Town trapped in having to make a deal (or not) having basically touted the player earlier on...no wonder it's an utter f*ck up. That's the reality, Positive, clear as day.
As I said in my earlier post, we should never have tied ourselves to such a feeble agreement, nor left ourselves in a position where he could go on a free..simply bad management from the club.

Thanks for your reply but it is not tax clear as day as you put it the players and agents have the upper hand in lots of cases and o brian has got a new contract but if a player wants to go the club as too options keep him and you have a unhappy player or get the best possible price you can and ax for town shoudnt if true agreed a release clause obrian and agent would not have signed a new deal anyone who thinks different are naive that is the bottom line and that is what happens all over football like it or not

We 100% have targets pal! It would not surprise me in the slightest if Marcus evans came on board as a investor because Dean doesn't look like he's going anywhere soon.

What would Evans et al stand to gain by investing without control?

What would Evans et al stand to gain by investing without control? If he took Phil’s 75 he would assume control surely..

I’m not thinking him taking over control is anything good going on the views of Ipswich fans who say he just didn’t bother investing on the pitch and watched them plummet down the league, so unless he’s learnt from mistakes it seems odd given he’s an Ipswich fan. This is of course if there’s anything too that rumour

Surely Bowler should be the one we want Listening to the "And He Takes That Chance" podcast before the Blackpool game, the Blackpool guest was saying that Anderson was the guy to watch.

I would have thought the deal was unlikely but then saw he’s free at the end of the season.

Aaron Connolly to Boro looks like a really good piece of business for them. He's premier league quality for sure.

Definitely not the type of character we need affecting the togetherness the club have worked so hard to try & develop in the changing room. We've cleared out all the 'big time Charlie's' we don't need another one having a negative influence.
