Obrien has to stay with us until the end of the season for us to stay in touch. But if someone activates his contract clause there isn't much the club can do about it

I also think we need some more physicality in the team.
We don’t have anyone that’s absolutely rapid.
Other than Sarr we don’t have anyone really big - lots of 6 foot 6 type centre halves in this league.
We have lots of footballers but can get a bit bullied off the ball at times.

Agree with chicken in the examiner unless obrian toff etc go we won't add to the squad but will be surprised if Lewis is here at the end of window

Just outlining where I think we need to strengthen. Getting a couple of punts like Thomas and Danny Grant would be good, give them chance to get up to speed before pre-season.

If there's any weakening of our squad by the end of january t/f window I'll be right pissed off. We're sat joint 5th with 20 games to go...if we're at all serious about 'giving it everything' then selling our better players just isn't on. Despite several seasons now of struggle on and off the pitch, the fans are still turning out in bigger numbers than the pre Wagner era...that loyalty needs to be reciprocated.

Patrick Roberts in the last year of his contract about to go to Sunderland. Would think that’s worth a punt?

chicken said we are wanting an attack centre midfielder Good. Sinani flatters to deceive and although Holmes has improved a fair bit recently. We could do we someone better. Basically let’s try and find the next Smith-Rowe. Easier said than done.

What's wrong with the keeper we have now? Absolutely nothing. But we’ll need a back up! I can't see him wanting to sit on our bench,he didn't even want to play in our first team at the end,Brentford have the option of buying him too,

chicken said we are wanting an attack centre midfielder Itd be nice to see a box to box midfielder as well. Maybe another non-league punt as well. As for as an attacking midfielder, I'll beat the drum again for a loan with option to buy for Jesus Ferreira from Dallas. He can compete with Sinani and Holmes but also can play as a striker (already good in holdup play and would compliment Rhodes well when he comes on). He is flying a bit under the radar because the teenage striker from his club is receiving interest from half of Europe (their current skill levels are pretty comparable). Based on his age/contract he'll be eyeing a permanent move to Europe in 6-18 months. His club would likely be interested in a loan to increase his value so I can't imagine the loan fee being high (makes just under 8k pounds a week).

We’ve slashed the wage bill. We’re massively over achieving with this squad. If Lewis does go (which I understand we won’t have much control over if his release clause is met) we must re invest. He’s holding the centre of that midfield together almost single handed currently. Remember what happened to Hull when they thought they’d done enough up to January to cash in on Bowen….

Basically let’s try and find the next Smith-Rowe. Easier said than done. Have a feeling with covid around and squads stretched there’ll be slim pickings on the loan options from the Prem this Window. We’ll do well to find someone ready to come in and contribute who is currently out of the 25 man squads. See the West Ham lad as an example

chicken said we are wanting an attack centre midfielder Interesting, as I’ve heard we’re keeping tabs on Taylor Richards at Brighton. He was on loan at Doncaster last season, and has often featured for Brighton on the bench so far this season. Can’t say I’ve ever seen him play, but on the basis that he’s an attacking centre midfielder and probably looking for a loan, it makes sense.

One player I like the look of is yoing Callum Wright. On loan at Cheltenham from Leicester. Plays the number 10 role well and if possible I would be asking Leicester to recall him and send him our way!
