Who scored the last hattrick before today, was it Danny Ward against Watford. I’m sure that is our first hat-trick since May 2014 at Watford. Certainly is in the league - not sure about cup games but we generally lose them so probably no hat-tricks. I wonder if it is Danny Ward’s first hat-trick since then ? Didn't Nakhi get one in the League Cup around then

I can only remember us winning 4-3 away from home in the league once before today - at Exeter, the last time we won automatic promotion, a Saturday in January as well. Lillis, Wilson, Stanton and Cowling. We might have won others and, of course, there are a few at home. This is clearly an omen; we should bet like men on automatic!
Edit: Davethesprout has pointed out Bradford City 3 Town 4 from another year when we were promoted. Excellent omens.

Next three games at home, 12 unbeaten will be a remarkable stat if we do it.

Possibly. If I could be arsed I’d trawl through the internet, but I can’t. Didn’t Hull get relegated after being in play offs in January? I don’t think we are the worst ever, but I think we are fortunate to be blessed with a bang average division. With it being an opinion I doubt trawling the internet will help you find the answer. And I agree .. bang average division. Which again can't be proved but is a strong suspicion we both share . Anyway who cares . The fact we are doing this against the odds and against logic almost makes it sweeter Quote… ‘It's a fact mate .. up the town’

Loving this from Town. Brilliant result! Oggy said Wardy wasn't moving well though, hope he's ok. Looked like he was moving ok when pumping his fists clutching that match ball in front of the Town fans! Great travelling support again. That'll do for me! 😀

Great win for Huddersfield Town ! It wouldn’t be Town without the proverbial five minutes of injury time and the fingernails bitten to the dermis... It’s the nieces 20th birthday tonight and she’s having a house party so probably just tape it on Quest and watch tomorrow to see the goals I missed in the first half as I was out in town on a driving errand earlier, but thanks to the folks for the stream links for the last twenty minutes... This is turning into a truly beautiful season indeed... Huddersfield Town in the play off places the day of ma niece’s birthday - Jeez unheard of for a long time but what a pure fantastic feeling ! 🥃 👍 Hasn’t anyone told you? About the promotion party you’re hosting for DATM in May?

Oh my god the town fans behind that goal I’d have paid £10000 to have been there and been old enough. Days like that make it special supporting a club like town. I own an original top for that reason and wear it whilst listening to away games (sad old 40 year old!) fantastic finish from starbuck as well I’d add and he is the reason I’m a town fan. Scored in my first ever town game vs hull 3-0 win at Leeds road. Hooked since!

Just a small collection of posts on the Danny Ward thread when he was about to sign. No names. Crikey. Has he packed in the cigs?
Decent signing if true. Almost as many goals as Grant in less minutes and no penalties amongst them I think our expectations have been lowered to the extent that he'll be welcomed back.
Thought we weren't going for square pegs in round holes anymore. Danny Ward seems to be a bit of a dodecahedron.
Yeh I’d say as a stand alone signing it’s not one to get massively excited about however if we brought in 2/3 even 4 of that standard/experience I’d expect it to improve the squad/team a fair bit so like I think someone has says it a decent start
I'd rather fat Dan than a keeper that only stops pens and nowt else
He’s terrible
Id rather sign Danny Ward the keeper and play him upfront than the sticky out chest, fat , poncey haired one
He is a hell of alot better player than some of the shite we have been carrying for the last 1 to 2 seasons! We are struggling to give some of those chancers away.
Absolutely. Two years ago nobody would have thought getting fat knacker back would even be on the cards.
Hope I'm proven wrong - I thought he was poor the first time round. We'll see.
Relegation threatened side signing a player who was an integral part of a team that made the Championship play offs this season and also featured in the EPL the season before. I'd call that progress !
Is Danny Ward better than Ramadan Sobhi? Answer: yes. Is Danny Ward better than Isaac Mbenza? Answer: yes. Is Danny Ward better than Adama Dhiakaby? Answer: yes. Is Danny Ward better than Colling Quaner? Answer: yes. Is Danny Ward better than the current Elias Kachunga? Answer: yes. Is Danny Ward better than Alex Pritchard? Answer: yes. Is Danny Ward better than Josh Koroma? Answer:yes. Is Danny Ward better than Aaron Rowe? Answer: yes. Is Danny Ward better than Reece Brown? Answer: yes. In my humble opinion, of course 😐In reply to the above: Think you may need to recalibrate your expectation level, good signing imo.
Happy with that. He's definitely a better player than the one who left us and an improvement over what we had last season
The maddest thing is, Danny Ward is the last player to score a hat trick for HuddersfieldOK… I’ll own up to this one! First impressions if this is true are - pretty uninspiring. I always remember that shot at Old Trafford that shaved the bar. But... having had a think, this might be quite a useful acquisition. He wants to move closer to home, so hopefully he'll feel more settled. He won't command a transfer fee (?). And I can't believe he's still only 28. He may not be a starter in every game, but handy player to have around.
I know I'm a massive tool Because of my obsession with Liverpool But crikey I've managed to contribute to a thread That isn't about my beloved boys in red So anyway, back to Danny Ward I think this criticism is untoward I know the club lack ambition But who knows, this signing may come to fruition
You lot still wanking over this signing? Read this thread again. Apart from the happy clappers everyone knew Grant was leaving last minute and Ward was our only striker coming in, not a “squad player”
Just been looking at some of his goals over the last few seasons. He can shoot with his right and his left is a thunderbolt. You'd expect him to get 15 goals this season if he starts most games. The reply: How’d you get this? 1. He’s never scored more than 12 in a season (double figures twice) 2. He’s never fit enough to start enough games
… and the reply to this: Correct.. He's played roughly the same amount of games so far as I expected. To put so many eggs in this fragile basket seems bonkers to my uneducated eye
Iwan Roberts seems to rate him as a striker www.htafc.com/news/2020/august/iwan-roberts-reveals-all-about-danny-ward/So do most Town fans after today!

That’s probably the strongest team that Reading have put out for a fair few weeks with players returning from injury and AFCON so 3 points is huge.
Get in!

I was not in favor of signing him as I did not think much of him when he was here before. He has proved to be a better signing than I expected.
We seem to have some sort of fixation on signing ex players!

I get your point, but a bit of belief and momentum can be all-conquering! Barnsley last season went on a hell of a run, having been down amongst the dead men in the early part of the season. Don't bring pressure to bear, have low expectations, and you never know!

I don’t get the negativity. Injuries and covid has hampered us a bit but we look much more solid away from home . Safe journey everyone travelling Hoping our run continues. Believe 💙😇 Our playing on the break tactics work better away. Playing similar at home just doesn't.

Brilliant result Well done fellas Wardy is looking so sharp and confident. Lees has been a little poor recently however we are 9 unbeaten and I for one am not moaning at all 😁
Koroma is of major interest due to his contract situation however Dean is playing hard ball 👍🏼 but if someone offered us 3million for him and we got Scott twine for 1.5 million I'd take it in a heartbeat.
Is Lee Nicholls banned after that yellow card?
P.S Them 2 on radio Berkshire are absolutely horrendous. Especially the main guy who's still adament our 3rd goal was a foul by Pearson😂😂

That is more than half the battle. As a fan I don't sense a play off challenge but keep winning belief is massive. The longer we keep going the more that will believe anything is possible.
