2/3 of all our clean sheets were spent with Lee having the ball in his hands or recovering it for a dead ballπππ

Surely Carlos deserved it over Jones purely on the basis he isn't a nasty little angry twat. I'd hate to have that representing my club.
Not once have I heard Carlos have a whinge about decisions. A very classy and respectful gentleman

Is Matt Glennon still maintaining that Schofield should be our No.1 ?

Is Matt Glennon still maintaining that Schofield should be our No.1 ? He was well on his way to being one of the biggest number 2s we have ever had and he needed removing from the firing line. There may be a professional goalkeeper in there but there is a lot of work to put in and some pounds to put on. From kids they are all shot stoppers, good reflexes etc but the rest should be more in place before his age and its clearly not. I appreciate keepers do get better with age but the first team anywhere cant afford that many learning on the job lessons.

Unsure how long Schofield is signed up til but he absolutely has to go out on loan next season irrespective of which league we are in. Waste of a season this one for the lad.

To be honest, I'm not even sure we'd rely on him to be backup His confidence seemed shot. Yes, he is a decent shot stopper, but as Nicholls has shown, there's so much more to goalkeeping than that. Summer 2023 he is signed for. www.htafc.com/news/2020/october/new-contract-for-ryan-schofield/ I wonder if Chapman is ready to be backup yet. I believe Blackman is out of contract.

Got a sense of entitlement too... apparently back in November for the Boro home game, his wife turned up 'unbooked' with an entourage of about a dozen and they all expected to be fed and watered in hospitality !

Is he beyond coaching then as Nicholls has put alot of the credit for his improvement at Clem's door, so surely Schofield would have been receiving similar mentoring ?

I donβt think we should be calling any player as one our biggest number 2s. It sounds a bit shitty to me !

Absolutely superb again tonight and kept us in the game. He already goes down as one of our greatest ever free transfers. What a fucking guy. Even signed my sons football on way in to ground

Now the best ever Town keeper in my opinion.
Not only for his keeping - for the confidence he gives the rest of the team.

Not good enough by many on here, just a reserve league one keeper many called him π hands up, I genuinely thought that the signing of Nicholls was the club telling us they had given up trying, especially after Schofield was so poor last season. A reserve goalkeeper from MK Don's just seemed to be us chucking the towel in. The scouts have made me look a reet cockwomble. Nicholls is by far and away the best goalkeeper I have ever seen play for this club. He is absolutely outstanding and he should be called up for England. In fact, he is that good he could play for any team in the premier league including the top 2. His kicking, command of area, confidence, shot stopping, agility, absolutely everything is utter class.

Most were wary because of where he came from and as a reserve, it didnt last long though, the bloke is probably the biggest bargain on the modern era, he is immense!!

Surely got to be player of the season.
The most impressive season from a keeper in my 52 years supporting (& possibly by some way).
Danny Ward has. since playing for us, been transferred for Β£12 million plus & played in the European Championships.
I liked DW but don't think his performances were close to LN this season.

In fact of all the underwhelming signings I felt we'd made, his was the most underwhelming of the lot. I've never been more wrong. We've had some great keepers here over the last few decades. Lossl, Vaesen, Francis, Harper.... I'd say Nicholls is better than any of them.

He has been practically flawless all season long. That can very, very rarely be said of any goalkeeper, even those so-called 'top' Premier League 'keepers. They all manage to drop a bollock or two once in a while. And you can't say he's been stood around watching week in, week out. He's been in the thick of the action virtually every game. Immense. Love the guy.

When you're playing as well as he is, you deserve that bit of luck and he got just that last night when Cornick smashed it straight into him from 6 yards out

When your playing as well as he is he could do with the defenders giving him a bit of room and not getting into his shorts with him. Twice last night his job was made harder by his mates getting in front of him, right in front of him. Edge of the box you'd back him to save everytime. His reflexes have been proved excellent, lets not keep testing em?
