I see on the club website that HTAFC have made both the Luton Town match on Monday 11th April and the clash with QPR on Friday 15th April a very generous entry of £10 per match - this is very tempting for me as I could just make a week of it in Yorkshire and could spend the week going afternoons going to places like Hull and Rotherham (that I’ve not been to yet) and some smaller town’s and villages also and maybe some brewery tours as well ! If the Barnsley match on Saturday 23rd April is moved to some obscure time like Monday 25th April then that’ll probably clinch the week for Westie, but I’d need to fit in a Saturday and Sunday pub crawl of Huddersfield as well for the chat and the bands in the boozers and karaoke as well... Not long now to see what sky do with The Barnsley match - midnight tomorrow night I think they’ll have to decide one way or the other ! Hull worth a visit, but rather than Rotherham why not try places like Otley, Knaresborough, York or Skipton Yes, there is some cracking Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture in Hull. Some good public houses also, as well as the ones that are as rough as a badger's behind.

Luton and QPR tickets £10. That isn't good, every time there's an offer and a big crowd we lose. Charge £40 and we'll win both. ;-)

The last 2 posts highlight why the phrase about walking a mile in my shoes is so important. We’re only talking about the minor misdemeanour of leaving the ground early of course, but that in itself makes it even more laughable that some folk get their knickers in a twist about this. Thanks for sharing that story Detox, it gives me a heartwarming image of that bloke still making such an effort in his 80’s… Fair play to folk who travel and have to leave but they are the small minority. There were loads more leaving early than normal last Saturday and I am pretty sure they don’t all live in Newcastle. I left the Bournemouth game 5 minutes early, it was clear that we weren't getting back into the game. I brought a French born colleague to the match. We got back to his house in Kent to see the last ten minutes of the England - France rugby game - should have stayed in Yorkshire till the biter end

Personally i'd rather have Friday night than Saturday or Sunday 12pm KOs. Sympathise with those working nights etc though.

A fuckin joke.... yeah I get it that sky think that Huddersfield Town have no fans in Scotland - but surely they could’ve had one of the matches on a Saturday....
Decision time now - what to do for the best... but while a bit pissed off with today’s news of another Friday match, I do need to look at the bigger picture and realise the nice reason that all this is happening !

The next three home games I could’ve made, now thanks to the changes and work I can’t. I was already going to miss the Bristol city game because of working. See you all next season or in the play offs

Could they not have staggered kick off times on a Saturday?
Really feel for those long distance fans - it makes it impossible to get to games for them.
Just have to have a massive party at Wembley!

Dumbarton are tiny and minute in comparison to Huddersfield Town sabailand - think they give out results via Twitter which I’m not on or any idea how that operates but doesn’t look like they have a forum, though they do have a decent website sort of page with match previews, various snippets of club and player news and match reports - which have been very depressing of late for sure... The annual relegation battle is in full swing there once again !

Sorry this has happened Westie. I know how much you were looking forward to your trip. Hope you can sort something out. Aye... just spent the last 90 minutes or so roughly writing out permutations and prices for travel and hotels overton - Barnsley is an option and then I could enjoy the Saturday and Sunday in Huddersfield as is the QPR one though it’s very tight for check in before it as that’s a teatime kick off and I’d only be getting into Manchester at 4pm.. so if I do that one I’d probably arrive on the Monday on for The Luton game and sight see around beautiful Yorkshire Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday (I got some excellent tips from some of DATM’s finest the other night) - before The QPR game on the Friday - then Glasgow on the Saturday ! (I just miss ma Huddersfield Saturday and Sunday that I really enjoy by selecting this option)... As it stands transport and hotels are fine - I’ll swither overnight and probably book something up tomorrow or Sunday... Of course there is a Saturday match v Bristol City (7th May) but it’s ma wee maw’s birthday a few days later all being well and she has COPD and it could be a risk at her old age and condition if I appeared after a 4 day pub crawl - but come hell or high water - all being well Westie should be at a Town match (possibly even TWO) in April !!!

Was it even this bad in the Prem? I can’t ever remember a worse season for fixtures - from the perspective of somebody who lives two and a half hours drive away making the evening midweek games completely untenable. Usually compensated by being able to make away games, but even the decent away games near myself have been on bizarre days as well.
Season ticket has been a bigger waste of money this season than the season I paid for one whilst fans were banned - at least I didn’t have to pay £10 on top of it for every ifollow game! Think I’ve managed maybe 6 home games, so £250 (I think) ST + £170 for the games I couldn’t make on ifollow.

It’s a blow for me. I perform much better at the correct time for football, 3pm on a Saturday.
I’m usually absolutely wasted at night matches and just put an 80’s compilation on.

This TV thing isn't a new trend. Its been like this for the last 10 yrs and more. It happens every season. If you are challenging for promotion or in the latter stages of a cup you will be on TV and games will moved. Its not a surprise anymore. What do people want - mid table mediocrity or the club earning some extra cash whilst experiencing some excitement come the end of the season. And as a side note, I couldn't give a flying fudge if they gave out £5 or £10 tickets every week from week one. As long as it increases the gates I will still buy a season ticket. Moaning about fixture changes....deary me

Just listening to some good 60’s & 70’s on Alexa just now to whet the appetite for the pubs in dearest old Huddersfield !

If you're ever feeling down or depressed , maybe after a town loss , you can't beat a bit of Westie therapy. It certainly does the trick for me 🙂 Sometimes I try to imagine what posters on here may look like . When reading westie's words , Russ Abbot always springs to mind...
