Just to let anyone know who doesn't have sky.... Now TV currently have an offer at Ā£20pm (+Ā£5 for HD boost) to stream all sports channels.
Not for everyone but with the amount of times we're on and the climax of the premier season, F1 and Masters coming up it's not too bad.
You can have 6 devices with the boost and watch on 3 at the same time.
The price is guaranteed for 9 months but you can cancel anytime.
The offer ends tomorrow although no doubt there'll be another one along soon after.

If you're ever feeling down or depressed , maybe after a town loss , you can't beat a bit of Westie therapy. It certainly does the trick for me š Sometimes I try to imagine what posters on here may look like . When reading westie's words , Russ Abbot always springs to mind... Great post and I agree. Itās always a pleasure to read Westieās posts - never any malice in them and always enthusiastic. Itās true that you think about what some people look like. I always imagine him to be sat in his armchair in front of an open fire with a glass/ tumbler of whiskey on the chair arm whilst tapping away on his phone. I can just imagine him singing āAtmosphere ā after heās had a good night.

Aye orinoco - Definately donāt have sky (subscriptions) now and havenāt for a while but got old box and havenāt paid anything for oh - around 27 years ! I was the first lad to have satellite in ma village back around 1990 and it was a small dish called B-sky-B and we had more than a few house football parties - I used to have half the parish asking in for Celtic v Rangers and it was all good natured and they brought me Lager and I gave them whisky and half time pies... Then it was just sky which I kept till I left for a bit and Iāve just had the free channels with the box since 1998 ish. That does me fine as Iām not a tv fanatic and other than football of course, and Taggert, Spring / Autumn and Winter watch, itās mostly music on the radio thatās on At Westieās... My sister is a bloody tv fanatic though and has every channel going bar sky sports (although she gets one free results and footy news channel 409) and I watched the results coming in on that today - though just like The Saturdayās Iām in self pub quarantine before coming up to visit ma wee maw - Iād be just as happy to have watched the results coming in on what we call ācoonsillā (council) telly up here - BBC Scotland !

Isn't there just a little bit of hypocrisy here? When we were in the Premier League there were people complaining about the coverage we had and the general attitude towards Town. It's unfortunate that we have a number of games against promotion rivals in our last 7, 4 of those, and of course we have the TV infrastructure from the Premier League days so an easy set up.
It is a pain in the backside but we surely can't complain when earlier in the season we were moaning about WBA and Fulham being on every week. I would also add if it wasn't Sky it would be some other broadcasting outlet.
Irritating and inconvenient (for many) it is but you can't complain about a lack of coverage. Aren't the play off semi finals at times to suit broadcasting?
Not worth getting worked up about, let's focus on getting points starting at Hull.

Our last 3 home Championship games to kick off at 3pm on a Saturday ended in 2 defeats & 1 draw, you have to go back to 20h Nov when we beat WBA 1-0 for a victory @3pm Sat, although our last 3 'Sky' home games all ended in draws since the same date........we do seem to have dropped a few points at home, TV or not!!

Bringing more coverage on the box is a definite positive the downside though is the effect it as has financially as ruined the game . The top league used to be far more competitive itās not anymore , money unfortunately from sky has made winning the top league a closed shop , very sad and no where near as entertaining sadly. As for kick offs changing thatās just life now a bit like the average working week not the same as the old days, but you adapt or life just stands still.

Never paid more than Ā£20 a month. I only ever take out a yearly contract and currently pay Ā£15 a month after renewing in January. I get all the football I want. I can watch the golf, occasionally watch rugby league, F1 and darts. A cinema ticket is around Ā£7 or more for one film. A pint of the brand of beer I choose to drink is normally around a fiver. People pay Ā£20 for a Dominos Pizza, probably the same types that choose to pay Ā£50+ for an iphone contract every month. If you put all that into context, Ā£15 for Sky Sports if you enjoy sport, imo isn't bad value

Closed shop unless a billionaire invests in your club and you have a once in 100years season. As I was saying above money as ruined the competition. If you think Leicester winning the league is like it was before your mistaken. There season was a major one off 5000/1 odds at the start . Do YOU REALLY think the premier league is competitive or a closed shop that can only be won by the big six. ( bar a freak season) and Iām being kind because this year 3 clubs at a major push could of won this year. ( no 2)

You canāt quote the other price comparisons at the top of the price chain and then compare with sky at a cheap well discounted price. You can get a pizza for Ā£1 from Morrisons you can go to the cinema for Ā£5 at Halifax or free with a bank account from Lloyds , the iPhone for miles less than quoted . Sky sports is around Ā£27 a month and thatās not including the other channels you need to take the contract at the start. Numbers can easily be manipulated to suit an agenda. Personally itās not the coverage that I dislike itās the lack of competition I at the top end of sport which is now disappointing and thatās due to money. Ie premier league and F1 the prime examples

Ie premier league and F1 the prime examples Thats fair enough brighouse. I have a choice in that a pay Ā£45 (Ā£30 for other channels and the option to be able to record what I like, pause live TV etc.) for Sky in total. Ā£15 of which is Sky Sports. I barter with them every year in order to get what I feel is the best choice for me and what I believe to be pretty decent value. But I'm not manipulating numbers. I gave prices that people choose to pay for what I would class as a luxury outgoing on a monthly basis - its a choice, not a necessity. I agree that it has taken away some of the competition, but if it wasn't Sky it would be something else that did that

Right international weekend over (thank god) letās fucking ave this town getting 2017 vibes again. Sadly lost my old man last year to arsehole that is the big C but I know he is behind this rejuvenated team. However, if we do anything similar to 2017 Iāll be joining him in the big Leeds road shaped cowshed in the sky sooner then anticipated either through heart failure or liver failure due to over celebrating! I ring they every year, threaten to leave for either Virgin or BT and they basically offer me what I want and on my terms. A lot of the time these companies will give ridiculous deals just to stop you leaving for another competitor. At the end of the day, they make more money from the adverts they run rather than the customer subscriptions. If Super Sunday starts at 1pm and finishes at 7pmm guaranteed an hour that broadcast will be commercials.
