That Rhodes goal vs Luton reminded me of the very last free kick in the 2017 final, Crainie just failing to get to the ball at the far post from that free kick. Obviously Jordan scored the goal, but the delivery was quite similar...
Haven't a clue why I've posted that, an omen, or just an observation...

Oh so the BBC are giving us some coverage because BBC breakfast seem to think forest have already qualified for Europe again. Really hope we boil some piss this weekend. “Teams like Huddersfield” Aside from my rant - this is a lovely title video ⚪️💙⚪️💙

Just been reading an interview with Alexander-Arnold and something he said about the bin dippers reminded me of us under Carlos -
“We got taught exactly how to win a game, how to win trophies. If you look at our run to that final we didn’t really win games. We just outscored the opposition. There’s a difference because a win is gathering control of the game. You know exactly how to win the game and you execute it. That’s very different to just outscoring the opposition and there’s no real control”
Excited for the game now, as long as we give a good account of ourselves I’ll be happy.

One nil to town - we’ll get them on a counter attack like we did at the city ground. All the expectation on forest so I expect they’ll be more open
Also forest haven’t managed the big games well - Bournemouth away and sheff Utd second leg. I think we’ll have more discipline and better game management

First half hour is key in my opinion. We aren’t great at coming back from a goal or two down. If we don’t score early, if we can keep it 0-0 or 0-1 by 60 minutes then it could go either way. These games are usually very low scoring and rarely classic games, with the odd exception. We are fitter and have have a few who have played play off final games so these small details may be the difference. We need O’Brien and Hogg on their A game. Usually when they are on it, we do well.

I'm just hoping the club aren't planning anything that can backfire again.
Please Town no believe t shirts or clapping card sticks. Totally embarassing and setting us up for ridicule. Its bad enough for me having VAR.
I'm putting my tin hat on.

Looked at each other and said, this will bite us on the arse, we're going to lose this.

Not a chance in hell Dean will do t shirts as he probably regrets it, however forest on the other hand it would not at all surprise me if they did something like that.

I definitely agree with the first half hour argument. They always start fast and try to attack with real purpose, particularly from the wing backs. They do tire though and in all games that I have seen them play, they are running on fumes from minute 70 onwards.

First half in the second leg we had a few that looked nervous. Can’t have that tomorrow as I think Forest will try and win it in the first half.
It’s gonna be about whether we can soak up their early pressure without conceding, maybe get one on the counter but come into it strongly in the second half. They were awful against the blades in the second leg because the blades threw everything at them, but we’ll be far more cautious.
Need to make sure O’Brien is getting on the ball enough, that will get our little passing triangles going and get us up the pitch.
He struggled to get into the Luton games enough for us to dominate the ball until late on.
Think we might need Tino to win it or get us back into it late on.

Never, ever, want to see Town lose, but Trees will be firm favourites and are arguably the better side. On the basis that I never want to see Town lose, it would not be the worst thing ever to avoid weekly beatings in Prem. I don't expect victory, but will be cheering the boys On nevertheless. On the other hand, we can dream....🙏🙏 that is a well put post.

I am naturally a pessimist, although with that I then don't throw a hissy fit when things go wrong, and my incline is we can't afford to go behind against Forest. If we go behind I reckon we'll struggle to get back into the game and are more likely to get picked off and give the Forest and plastic armchair fans what they want. It's a shame Davis is back too, as he offers something totally different, which will give Carlos and the CBs a headache. At times he's like one of those overgrown kids in the u15s that just knocks all the others out of the way 😄 Saying all that, I've still put a bet on us, as 3/1 was too long!

The Playoff semi final games v Luton were difficult, due the extremely poor refereeing decisions. The referee's bottled penalty decisions in both games. For example Toffolo penalty, Luton offside goal, 2 penalty calls, against Luton players man handling Town players, in their penalty box, which the Ref ignored. Second leg Referee made dodgy decisions i.e. stonewall penalty, when their keeper fouled Toffolo. Hopefully VAR should negate poor Refereeing decisions, well that's the theory, must reiterate - HOPEFULLY - UTT.

Like in that second leg against Luton? Carlos will put out a team that is extremely well drilled on what they have to do.. when we have the ball and when Forest have it. They'll know all about their threats and their weaknesses and they'll be prepared to change formation seamlessly during the game, maybe more than once. But end of the day its about the players being able to carry that through. Will they let the nerves get to them, because certainly the likes of Russell and Colwill did in that 2nd leg against luton. If they play the opposition and not the occasion then we have a great chance IMO Yes I agree with you, to a point. Were you not proud of the way we were competitive against Luton even though we were far below our best? In my time of watching Town, many of our teams in the past would have folded under that pressure, the pressure of the occasion, and of the strength of the opposition. We kept in the game, and that's something I believe gives us a great chance on Sunday, even if one or two show nerves. UTT Been proud of the spirit all season. Much like with Wagners promotion team, its been massive factor in how the season has gone. But lets be honest, we relied on Luton not being able to hit a barn door in that first half. We competed, just through effort though, not through ability. By the time we got our act together we were fortunate to still be in it. I think coping with the occasion is everything in these games. Rarely does a side play anything like their best... its more a case of who lets it effect them more will generally be the losers. We maybe have an advantage in that theres more pressure and expectation on Forest.

Campsite owner told me they are installing fibre..but not til August !
