Embarrassing and shameful 'stunt' from the club to get the Examiner to report that yesterday.
Stinks of "Well at least we tried our best lads".
Pathetic.

Appears we are settling for 20th based on this summer/transfer window, least we know now and can realign expectations going into each week. 1 of 4 premier loans taken (what an opportunity to bring in new talent and get fans off their seats like we have historically).

The deal was on the cards for weeks, we needed to move 1 or 2 on, which seems to have finally fallen into place this week, just at Mcatees patience ran out.
No doubt we will bring in another quality Premier league youngster, but seemingly missed out on our no.1 target again. No guarantee of success anyway.

for 20 mins he looked far more effective than Diakhaby ever did. If anyone was looking for an example of "damning with faint praise"....

Huge game tomorrow. No additions and another insipid performance against a team far below us last year and patience levels will plummet further.

Its crazy to think this way so soon but its right, if this is the case and we fail to add any quality and more importantly legs to the midfield before the end of the window things are going to turn sour and crowds will drop through the floor. I guess lets wait and see what happens tomorrow first.

I'd have quite liked to have seen McAtee here as he sounds an exciting prospect, but those are quite extreme words to throw around based on us missing out on a loan signing. Every club misses out on certain signings they would like to make every window. Even Man City, Chelsea and Man United have missed out on some of their reported targets. If you're going to get so worked up about it then you're setting yourself up for unnecessary disappointment twice a year.

Trying to pull the wool over the fans eyes.

How on earth can Blackpool be landing quality loans - and also spending a fee for a young full back. This is despite not selling anyone and getting small gates - www.transfermarkt.com/fc-blackpool/transfers/verein/1181 . Also all this after there manager quit on them to become the Assistant Manager at Villa Meanwhile Town sell 3 players for c.£11m. Cut the wage bill and spend less in transfer fees than we probably made from our slice of the gate receipts at Wembley! It's crazy that we scratching around with only two strikers (both injury prone and over 30) and two fit central midfielders - one of who is 34 in a couple of months and one who hadn't played in our first team until this year and unless I've missed it is still on his original B team contract. There is no depth in this either of these positions Is it any wonder that Carlos walked - the THIRD manager to quit the job under Hoyle (Robins and Wagner the other two). This is not what usually happens at football clubs

Trying to pull the wool over the fans eyes. Okay, do you have any evidence that the club was behind that story? If so, do you have any evidence that it was fabricated? To an outsider, that seems like two pretty big assumptions. Having taken a look at the article, it seems like a classic clickbait article that a site like Yorkshire Live would put out. A quick and easy transfer 'story' based on an old quote from Alan Nixon, which impacts two of the clubs they cover. Town fans will click on it because we think we might be making a signing, Sheffield United fans will click on it because they think an expected signing may be falling through. It's pretty depressing that it qualifies for journalism, but that's where we are. Town will definitely feed articles to Steven Chicken. However, this article was written by Matthew Holt. A quick search on Twitter finds that he's a freelance journalist, he supports Man United, does some work for Scunthorpe and pulls together articles like this for loads of different clubs. Here's one linking Gareth Bale to Newcastle.

Huge game tomorrow. No additions and another insipid performance against a team far below us last year and patience levels will plummet further. We strolled past Brum at their spot in second gear in February. Have they had a massive shake up? If not we're facing similar opposition so it will be interesting to see how the game goes.

Seems Mcatee only ever wanted to talk to Sheffield United of any of the Championship clubs who might have been interested (see his press conference alongside the Sheff Utd manager).
So either whoever invented/maintained this thread weeks and weeks ago was telling porkies or we were led to believe things that were never true from other sources. Very frustrating.

Brum supporting mate said they were well organised at Luton but offered very little going forward. General view amongst their supporters is that they will struggle. It will be an interesting benchmark.

Pretty much every signing plays the PR game and says it was their dream move, the fans are amazing and it was the only club for them. See Toff 2 weeks ago.

If its so obviously the route to success surely all clubs will have 4 PL loans? I bet the answer is very few. So, are all of our rivals settling for 20th? How pathetic of Sheff Utd not to sign Tino Anjorin.

In fairness to Robins - he kept us up in 2013 getting us to 58 points and then we finished in 17th the season after. Then his backroom team were sacked. He then quit after the first game presumably walking away from a decent bit of compensation. Wagner had us in a decent position at the start of December then it fell apart over the space of 3 weeks. We needed reinforcements on 1st January - instead we signed Puncheon and the club in it's actions had basically given up trying to survive - so what was the point? I again I assume Wagner walked away from a lot of money when he left, even if he'd just marked his time until the end of the season that would have been worth a few £100k

Never seen yuta play how can you say that?? Rudoni is average Anjorin was poor last year I hope our coaching team don’t make the same rash judgements as you do after only less than 30 minutes of evidence. Don’t need a coaching team there both below average players
