... and Tino playing more advanced. My concern would be if Tino is positioned too far up the pitch, he may not get the ball enough to have an affect on the game since the team aren't organised yet. I think it may be better to play him where he was last time with the objective of moving him further up the pitch in later games once we have started playing as a team again. I agree though, I want to see Tino higher up the pitch. He appeared to be beating two players with ease, it would be great if the next player was the goalkeeper.

Very early in the season obviously but I think Friday's match will be crucial for establishing what mood many supporters are in, for the season.
Birmingham did well ie they got a draw at Luton last week but they are one of the favourites again for relegation.
Incidently, watched Watford vs Sheff Utd - very impressed with Watford and if Sheffield do get Mcatee they'll be a threat.

Agree Galph, I thought he looked unwell too, but I'm sat right near the back of Kilner so couldn't be sure I was seeing right He looked like I did when I tried exercising after leaving college. Although he aint 5'0" and 105kg like I was at the time That's some ratio Yep, was like a land-borne weather balloon at 18 year old! Then I left college where I'd become even lazier than I'd been before, got a (fairly) strenuous job at NAAFI (like Tesco/Morrisons but for squaddies), dropped 3-4 stone in 18 month I'm now a (comparatively) svelte 60-69kg (fluctuates but rarely goes above 70kg) and 5'6", so still a shortarse but the weight is soooooo much better distributed lol

You’ll have felt a helluva lot better for shedding that lot! 💪🏼 You’re not too dissimilar to me... I tend to fluctuate between 61 and 65 kg and I’m 5’9”. We ought to move this to the Health & Fitness Thread really 😂

When I was 18 my idea of a marathon was 10 pints of lager, 20 Regal King Size and a chicken madras. Well, maybe when I was a bit older than 18, but not much older lol. Great days they were though 🤣🤣🤣

From Schofields Presser
DS: “After reviewing the Burnley game it was evident that first half there was plenty to improve on."
You don't say.

Great press conference from the examiner that, not one question asked on potential incomings.

Schofield says Hefele is now defensive coach.
"He's alwas shown a keen eye to get into coaching and he's now the defensive coach throughout the club. He'll be full of energy and will be contributing like Paul.
"I see coaching as a journey always. I don't think, in my opinion, that you can really go straight from playing to a first team role."

By the sound of Schofield's press conference comments, we'll be a bit braver with the selection of new players. I'm expecting it to be something like
Nicholls Turton REG Lees Nakayama Hogg Russell Thomas Anjorin Rudoni Ward
I'll have to see how good Nakayama is before passing judgement on this properly, but I can see a potentially interesting setup with him and REG as wide centre backs who get forward. I think it might be the solution to the issue of Hogg and Russell having to play together.
something like: REG Lees Nakayama Thomas Russell Hogg Anjorin Ruffels
Hogg drops back into a CB role as one of the wide defenders gets forward. Ward and a winger/striker like Grant or Koroma up front, with them drifting to the left when Thomas gets forward to make a front 3. Offers a lot of adaptability as REG and Nakayama can play right and left back too. Doubt it would happen though as Schofield seems quite set on his formation

We beat Brum very comfortably at their place just a few months ago. I doubt it will be anything like as easy tomorrow. I'm going for a draw, but we could just as easy lose.

In spite of the more positive guff coming out of Birmingham this week they are still one of the favourites for relegation this season. Will be interesting!

We did......but colwill obrien toffs all played from memory. The replacements for these have to improve hugely to mirror that achievement based on last week! That said it is early days!!!

I know stats don't tell the whole story of a match, but the stats from Birmingham's game at Luton suggest it was a fairly even game.
This will be a tough game. In the current circumstances, I'd take a draw and an improved performance.

Listening to reports it’s sounds like a game luton should have won. Believe Birmingham setup to sit in and looked very organised.Think they are looking to build from that base of being hard to beat.I think the onus maybe on us to win the game.

If the rumours about Nicholls are true, could Schofield be starting between the sticks?

I've heard no rumours about Lee Nicholls, although if he's not available for whatever reason then I expect Schofield in nets.

What’s all this about our keeper who was introduced to the fans a week ago as having just signed a new contract?

Leicester; " I wonder if we could purchase your esteemed goal custodian?"
Us; "Go fook thisen".
At least that is how I hope it played out.
