So my second match thread of the season. Lose again and you can blame it on me...
Again, we have the added incentive of playing before all the other teams, so let's see if we can grab our first win of the season and keep some people on here sane on Saturday...

Hopefully some inside info from our new assistant first team coach might help Danny prepare.

B'ham were my tip for relegation and before last weekend I would have been all over a Town win but we were so bad Friday night and they got a decent draw at Luton so I'm going to sit on the fence, 1-1.

Hopefully some inside info from our new assistant first team coach might help Danny prepare. With his name being P. Harsley he might help Danny prepare the team with some light lunch of Parsley soup ! - Best wishes anyway Paul... I don’t know why but I fancy HTAFC to sneak this one - maybe 1-0 !

Russel looked like an oil tanker trying to do a three point turn last week but with Kasumu out he will keep his place

I'd go:
Nicholls Turton Lees REG Nakayama Hogg Russell Thomas Anjorin Rudoni Ward
I'd like to say we can't possibly be worse than last week but who knows? Big performance needed from the coaching staff and players.
Would be good to hear an update on Kasumu's injury.

Wouldn’t want to see Russell and Hogg as the midfield two again.
Nicholls
Turton Reg Lees Nakayama
Hogg
Thomas Holmes rudoni Anjorin
Ward
Holmes benefit of the doubt as thought was very underrated last season plus keeps a bit of experience in the side. If kasumu was fit however think he’s a better fit for what we require in midfield.Reg and lees keep places as despite zero protection for the most part thought did ok.

Neither team seem like they are up to much currently. I suspect this might well be a draw or a narrow 1-0 win for Birmingham. Least we don't have to endure the pain of it being televised.
I certainly would like to see some of the new signings start or Grant for that matter. Rhodes must start to carry some goal threat.

Picks the same side as last Friday & it's a Brummy Bumming.

I'll bet you're gutted about that Art. Never mind, you can always save some of your breakfast cereal and listen on the radio. I've heard cold porridge & nails goes well with Oggy's commentary... ;-)

Picks the same side as last Friday & it's a Brummy Bumming. If he picks the same side as last Friday and we lose, I don’t care if it’s two games, he wants binning. I suspect it’ll change though, as he’s meant to be a good coach…..

Nicholls
Nakayama REG Lees Turton (shit last game)
Hogg (shit last game) Russell (shit last game) Tino
Rudoni Ward (shit last game) Thomas (shit last game)
Huge improvement needed but due to a weak squad depth some will be guaranteed their place even though they should be dropped after stinking the place out against Burnley.

Russel looked like an oil tanker trying to do a three point turn last week but with Kasumu out he will keep his place John isnt a quick player but he slowed considerably the other night as the first half went on. Maybe it was an illness or just feeling off.?? Lets hope it was just a passing or mild thing.

Gone for a loss that first half was as bad as I’ve seen I worry about Schofield he looked lost. Fingers crossed we can turn things around though

I think the side for this will be picked largely based on the reaction the players give in training. If we're picking players based on their performance on Friday though, we're probably looking at 8 or 9 changes from the starting lineup.
Personally I think this has 0-0 written all over it. Frankly, if we're solid but unspectacular I'd take that after Friday.

We looked unfit & utterly clueless against Burnley, can't see this changing in a week unfortunately.
2-0 Brum

This is my predicted lineup too but with Rudoni offering some dynamism in the midfield 3 and Tino playing more advanced.

I'd be incredibly disappointed if Koroma & Holmes start, swap them for Rudoni & Anjorin, I'd prefer REG to be given another chance but Yuto should come in for Ruffels or REG.
No need to panic even if we lose Friday, however, we would need to see a much improved performance, anything remotely resembling last Friday would be very worrying.

Obviously I want to see Town get a result, but just as importantly - whoever plays - I want to see evidence of structure, direction and an obvious plan on how to beat the opposition. I saw none of these things against Burnley.
A few shots on target would be nice too. 😉

We must change the line up significantly from Friday.
And include Diarra/Grant/Jones etc on the bench at least.
Zero point picking the same 11 and losing 2-0.
May as well play our new signings and leave Ruffels, Koroma etc out altogether.
If he does pick the same players again then unfortunately the pressure will be on DS sooner rather than later…
