Of course but he could afford to do that if he chose to. My question is why he has put another 12 million in and is prepared to put at least 5 million a year in on an ongoing basis. How does that get him his money back? It doesn’t make sense if his only interest is money The answer to that question is in the post you've just quoted. Ah right I get it now. So by pumping millions more in he's protecting his loan. Doesn't sound like the actions of a wise person to me. Unless of course he has a genuine affection for the club that is beyond merely trying to preserve his financial interests in it

Can’t see us winning a game until September and that’s just dependant on if Blackpool are worse than us. Tragic Football isn’t tragic. Real life can be tragic, football isn’t even close to being on a par with real life… We’ve had 2 poor first halves, improvement in the second half of both games, but the goal last night indicates there’s still a decent team in there somewhere. UTT!!! Sorry but thats just not melodramatic at all. The gap between us and 4th bottom is looking unsirmountable already!

I think it's absolutely right not to panic right now but at the same time we can't, to use a word, "sleepwalk" into the start of this season thinking it will come right. Do that and by the time the World Cup starts we could have a real struggle on our hands.
The problems for me are:
A mentality that has been scarred by the period since the play off final. For me this is the easiest thing to fix but has to come from within the dressing room. The spirit created last season needs to be invoked by the leaders. We can't afford players to fragment into their own groups, as we saw after the PL relegation.
An imbalance in midfield: It's not rocket science but we miss LOB, badly. Kosumo is out and this, massively important, role needs addressing.
Tactics and formations: There's an old adage "if it's not broke don't fix it". LOB was immensely important to the evolution of CCs team but in trying to find a "new" way without him the cohesion and understanding the players had has been so lacking. DS seems to have determined to adopt his own philosophy when perhaps evolving what CC had may have been the most sensible call. As above he'd need a replacement, or fit replacement, for LOB but the shape and coherence in front of the back 4, especially in both 1st halves so far has been concerning at best and alarming at worst.
DS needs to believe in his motivational and man management abilities. What I mean by this is that the team that started last week looked a weak decision. It looked like a "keeping the dressing room onside" selection. The mood of the players is important of course but he needs to stamp his personality on the team. Formations and plans are required but a heart, passion and style are ingredients that come from the coach/manager If DS is to be any good he needs to discover that ability to get those %s from the individual and collective.
DS and the players need time but I don't think they have that much before serious questions will be asked.

What happens to his money owed then?

A decade ago we'd just signed (in the summer window) : Adam Clayton Adam Hammill Oliver Norwood Joel Lynch James Vaughan Jermaine Beckford Sean Scannell Paul Dixon Keith Southern Anthony Gerrard We sold Jordan Rhodes to Blackburn. How is this summer comparable to that - a decade ago as you say? Fair play for those impressive stats cos those are impressive signings. I'm thinking more of the wider picture of what we achieved, the improvements to the ground and playing surface and the massive improvements with our training facilities and staff at Canalside Is that complex and land fully owned by the club?

No. DH pumped millions into buying the land and developing the facilities. As I understand things the club pay him a peppercorn rent

As it is we're a point short of where we were last season after 2 games , and IMO we should have got that point last night,. Overall a draw would have been the right result. So no reason to panic at all. In 1987-88 we had 3 points from 6 games and ended up with only 6 wins all season. That was the only bad start - it took 15 games for us to win one - I can remember where we flat-lined, didn't even sit up and sip a little beef tea. Another rookie manager, more of a legend than DS, went back to coaching here, (after keeping us up the season before) but his replacement, rather than being driven to drink by 10-1 defeats, etc, was apparently already drinking heavily when we appointed him.
