All three goals came as a result of Thomas corner kicks. Oh, but, wait a minute... he's shit... He's not been playing as well as last season, but take him out of the team and we won't score.

Turns out he's joint top of the league for assists now, 5 from 11 games. If he can do that while considered to be playing below par, imagine how many he'll get when he fully hits his stride!

Thomas currently joint top assister in the league alongside Chair with 5. If he added goals to his game he'd be worth alot of money. He’s been told by Bromby & Hoyle to shank those chances he’s had this season… 😉 He had to deal with some wayward passes to him last night. He can’t do much of his team mates kick it into touch. Our passing out wide is atrocious.

Not sure about the World Cup in 2018, but aside of that one, when was the last time a Town player was present in the World Cup? (assuming Thomas is selected in the Wales squad)

Sorry, I’ve probably not been clear enough. I can recall the 2018 one because we had a half decent international squad & I had thought Zanka was there.
I’m wondering when we had someone in a squad pre-2018?
One for the old stattos on here.

I seem to remember reading that Ramadan Sobhi was the first Town player to play at the World Cup since Ray Wilson.
Wilson was an Everton player in '66 so must be 1962 as the most recent before 2018.

Efe Sodje was probably the closest in recent times (pre-2018), he played in the 2002 World Cup and we signed him in 2003. I guess we had sent some scouts out to Japan for the summer 😉

Back to his best today 👏👏👏 He was brilliant today. He's showed a lot of character in this last month. The stick he was getting online, things not coming off for him as they were last season, being bottom of the league, plenty would have folded, but it seems to have fired him up and he's put in a few great performances recently. Believe he's suspended for Wednesday now, will be a big miss.

I think today showed why he plays for us.
Set pieces excellent Work rate excellent Some flashes of real skill
But he was played in to numerous good positions and his delivery was horrific. That game could have been rapped up first half with better final balls from Thomas. Needs to sort that out if he wants to move up from here

Definitely overcooked a few crosses but not sure it’s fair to put the fact we only scored once down to him. Thought he did really well towards the end of the game to wind the clock down and looked like a senior player today. Massive improvement from the start of the season. Nice to see him being played in a sensible position too. Can’t stand his petulance mind and that booking was stupid.

Kasuma was well deserving his MoM today, but Sorba was a close second.

That is horrific for what he is capable of. There were 2 or 3 more where he just didn't catch it cleanly and the defence cleared easily when he should have been creating a chance to score. His delivery from set pieces is outstanding which makes it all the more frustrating when he can't do it in open play

His delivery from set pieces is outstanding which makes it all the more frustrating when he can't do it in open play I agree but am happy to overlook it as his delivery from dead balls and otherwise static balls in open play is as good as I've ever seen from a Town player. He's averaged over 2 big chances created each game this season, with how little we've created overall that's such good going. I find it a bit baffling how composed and precise those dead/static balls are, when he has such little composure when the ball's moving at pace or he's shooting in the box. He's on an upward trajectory though so let's hope he continues to iron out the weaker elements of his game

Apart from Ward who I wouldn’t say was great in the air, who else have we got who he can aim for? He looked excellent today - I just don’t think his shortcomings are completely down to him.

I felt as frustrated as anyone with some of Sorba's crosses but there were many really decent passes into the box that weren't capitalised on. I don't think Ward and Sorba are on the same wavelength either so that can make a decent cross look like a poor one..for example there's no defender at the far post but instead of Ward going deeper in anticipation he runs to the near post where 3 defenders are..Sorba's cross goes to far post. There was another instance we had 3 attackers all run to the 6 yard line..full of defenders, Sorba's cross was into the empty space he'd seen by the edge of the box..It's no good our attacking players making late runs AFTER the winger has looked up, then looks back down again to cross the ball..by which time our players have moved position so it looks like the cross has gone to no one. I think they need to work in training on positioning sense and maybe then we'll score more often.

Easy to forget he is only 23 and only in his second full season as a professional.
Definitely areas of his game he can improve on but he is hugely talented and clearly cares. Our most dangerous attacking player in the squad - sometimes attacking players who try to make things happen have bad games - on those occasions we need get behind him, rather than berate him.
Personally, although sad he will miss Wednesdays match through suspension, I like his aggressive side and that he plays on the edge - I think it makes him the player he is. So many wingers get grief for being flair players but go hiding when it gets physical. Refreshing to see a winger who stands up for himself.
That said…I had a perfect view of his yellow card yesterday and with VAR I think there is a chance that is a red, so he does need to be careful when treading that fine line!
If he can start adding 7 to 10 goals a season, he will be in high demand.

Once we all bite the bullet and stop pretending he is a wing back, he and therefore the team will be better. Needs to be as far up the pitch as possible at every given opportunity for him to be up there. When we defend corners and free kicks he needs to be on halfway, he needs to be a threat rather than a spare part in our box.
