We can play our B Team though. Or "Harrogate Town" as they prefer to be called. I like to think of Bradford City as our development squad I prefer not thinking about them at all.

Hopefully Wales don’t escape the group. Championship restarts after group stages. Which is ridiculous really, we could be 2 players light through no fault of our own. Just the one. Helik has not made the cut for Poland.

Helik going from one relegated team to another threatened with relegation will not have helped his cause.

Maybe that was down to the strength in depth of the Japanese squad. I can't say that I have any idea of the strength of the two squads to say this with any real knowledge.

The replacement they've drafted in to take the space vacated by Yuta is not a further defender, its a striker Shuto Machino who with 4 international caps plays in the top level of the Japanese league system and has bagged 13 goals in 30 appearances this season - currently being the top scoring Japanese player in that league (in a league where the vast majority of players are Japanese), for a team that is bottom half of the table. Errr. Can we sign him in January?! That it isn't like for like position wise strikes me that despite his 17 full caps in the last 2 or 3 seasons, Yuta was seen as a fringe addition to the World Cup squad, rather than integral - or maybe there's not many other similar quality players to him that they would choose above this extra striker?

If he plays well in the world cup we won't be able to afford him and if he doesn't we won't want him.

Jess Fishlock's Welsh accent keeps slipping into a kind of American drawl, then she sounds a bit Scottish sometimes. Being a female footballer I expected the Yank slippage to be because she played over there but she didn't according to Wiki. And Sorba loving Cher and B*Witched? Wow, i was expecting the usual Beyonce, N*Dubz, Snoop kind of answer

The MacGalph rocking to the sound of: Na-na-na, hey Na-na-na, oh (c'est la vie) Na-na-na, hey Hey-hey-hey-hey (c'est la vie) And yes I did have to Google those lyrics before my heavy metal creds are shredded for good

when I heard old school I wasn't expecting a string of early 2000s bubblegum pop acts! And Cher! Given where HTAFC are I think all Town fans could happily resonate with a famous Cher song - “If I Could Turn Back Time” - (If only even 6 months to May 2022)... These heyday days seem like a lifetime away now seeing where we are these days !

Imagine the Town "supporting" dickheads on Twitter if he did score the winner v England 😖 The Scottish brigade of HTAFC fans on DATM will be rooting for that scenario to prevail I’d imagine !!!

Imagine.
The scores are level, we're in stoppage time. Sorba Thomas receives the ball in his usual left back position. Takes the ball to the right hand side of the pitch where he damn well should be, skins the fullback before putting in a Yuta-esque cross over the head of Jordan Pickford & into the back of the net.
Then straight from the kick off England equalise, then get a winner.

I fully expect both British sides to qualify from our group. Can't see Iran picking up a point so it'll be goal difference deciding between the Yanks and the Taffs. I just think England B Wales will have that bit extra in the tank with us being in their group.
Although Bukayo Saka will absolutely rinse Sorba if they play him where they usually do.

Moore rises above Maguire and nets with a powerful header past Pickford.

"Oh I'm really English but I have no chance to play for them so I played for this lot of losers instead". Good luck to him. Wales need to win today and hope England beat USA and take it easy for a draw on Monday.

Raheem Sterling was born in Jamaica, Eric Dier was raised in Portugal, etc etc. But I do get the impression he's still trying to ingratiate himself a bit, and is making statements like this to nail his colours to the mast a bit more. There's the video of the Welsh squad singing Yma o Hyd after they qualified, Sorba's the only one who doesn't know the words.
