Ricky gervais is brilliant, imo. But appreciate he is marmite. The office is a British classic the office is quality. Gervais in recent years has got lazy, relying on controversy and trying to be offensive. It works for some people but it has to be funny to not come across as smug, and his stand up isn't funny enough imo |

Don’t know what went on there but definitely a falling out of sorts, he owes most of his best work to him I think. |

Can't bear the smug prick and I've never seen him say anything remotely funny, even back to The 11 O'clock Show Ditto, thought the office was boring and extras was derivative shit, although only saw one or two episodes. Been told the one about the afterlife is funny but not seen it. Some of his stand-up shows I've chuckled at but I certainly don't see the evidence he's a comic genius. Each to their own, but the office IMO is superb. |
