Never in doubt. What a fucking signing and what a great two CB we have Five really good options at CB when fit and Boyle as a last ditch option as it stands. Hopefully Yuta can show us he’s a quality LB.

Barnsley turned down a 5m plus add ons bid for him last year so I'm very curious to know how much we've paid

Now we have no excuses. We look good all over Apart from midfield perhaps?? If a miracle happens and Kasumu stays fit we might be ok. I reckon we are in for a loan signing tho…..

Happy with this one, we've got a pretty good back line now.

Now we have no excuses. We look good all over Apart from midfield perhaps?? Yeah, but Dean’s a bit strapped for cash, he started the year with £300m but he’s now down to £290m. That said, rumour has it that after doing a bit of cycling this summer he’s now fit enough to be on standby to put in a shift for us in midfield.

No doubt that we’ve strengthened our back line today.
I’ve seen Helik a few times, he’s going to be a threat at set pieces.

Dropping a million quid on a centre back with 10 months left on his contract is a big deal in our current financial situation.
I guess there is at least half an eye on the potential for making a substantial profit on him next summer if he goes to the World Cup and does well.
Either way it's an encouraging signing and a notable upgrade on our existing CB options.

I’m telling ya we will sell him for some proper money. £1m what’s been said is nothing considering others wanted him. The lad now is worth 4-5m all day Good World Cup and back here and he’s absolutely massive for sell on

Reminds me a bit of the day we spent £1.6m on Chris Schindler and me thinking "fucking hell, we mean business".

Sounds like Bromby and Hoyle have pulled off a great bit of business with this player. Always a good sign when the fans of the selling club are pissed off about it.

Seems like the “injury” he had has gone away now he’s signed not seen any comments like with Simpson signing about any injury…hopefully he’s in as soon as.

I don't think this is a signing about resale value. This is a Peter Clarke/Chris Schindler type signing that you're hoping will be the bedrock of the team for the next 4-5 years.
It's ok having project players in your team, but if the team has no spine you're going to fall fast, and those young hopefuls won't have a structure to thrive in on the pitch.

Does this mean Hogg won't have to pretend he's Bobby Moore now

This is how you make decent money on transfers like Brentford. Buy quality players who become available at a knock down price, it’s not inconceivable that after a good season and the World Cup that he’d be worth in excess of 5 million and be in his way. However it works out i’m sure it a great signing with less risk than most

Great business getting Helik in. Really happy with this.
Like Yuta we've signed a defensive international coming into his prime.

First things first, stop conceeding. We were not prolific last season but we were bloody hard to beat. 20 plus goal strikers cost fortunes. In our position being hard to score against becomes even more important.

great signing, maybe a bit of fan faith reinstored?. Its a results business isn't it, so will largely depend on that. At least it will stop the inane 'we sold LOB and Toffolo and didnt reinvest ANY of the money' moaning...possibly.
