I think I might be in the minority who don’t see Forest as rivals at all. Not a local or derby game and I’ve never really thought any more about them than any other team. Not come across many fans outside of that playoff day and most we met after the game were pretty normal / decent folk. Had the referees done their job properly on the playoff we likely wouldn’t be taking about Forest! They're not rivals at all. The animosity is because of the awful refereeing at Wembley and the arrogant classlessness of their fans.

Hundreds of their fans in our end.

Didn't have any hassle with Forest fans on the day and haven't had any serious run ins with them in the 40 years I've lived in the area even when they knew who I supported, likewise Derby and Leicester supporters come to that. At work it's been friendly banter on the whole. Maybe it's just me? The weirdest thing I encountered at the Wembley game was an odd 'family' group sat close to me (late middle aged bloke and two younger people who I assumed were a couple rather than brother and sister but it was hard to tell) who just seemed to be either having mild arguments or being pretty disinterested for the entire game. The younger pair must have spent most of the second half on the concourses because they werent in their seats. I did wonder if they might be Forest fans as I couldn't see anything 'Town' on them but I would have thought they would let something slip when we scored the own goal but not a flicker from any of them. They all left well before final whistle.

Theres a few in Wyke I know. I think south Bradford was Park Avenue territory historically. Plus they were only getting 3k in div 4 when I was a youth. Historically ALL of Bradford was Park Avenue territory, Shitty were an afterthought at best Yep, Park avenue were top dogs in Bradford for years. Up to the mid 80's city were always a lower league side to most, apart from winning the FA cup 112 years ago Bradford were nondescripts until the mid eighties when they eventually escaped the lower divisions, the did have decent spell afterwards even reaching the prem in later years, back to their place in the natural order of things now though.

Avenue were top dogs in Bradford back in the day. I remember seeing them, before a very big crowd, beating newly elected Posh 1-0. Winning goal scored by Kevin Hector who went on to bigger things. At school in Cleckheaton [WMGS] Town were the most supported team with BPA second.

When we played them last there were a couple of them on the slow train back to Batley and they were talking absolute shite about how they were a big club and would be pissing this division if it wasn't for the EFL having a grudge. Also regarding the bit I've bolded: perhaps they were both?

Been offered a ticket in the Kop for Liverpool Forest next weekend. I’ll only accept if I can wear earplugs during that fucking song, and both teams lose.

Looks like bin dippers can’t wait to give away their tickets to watch the real might of English European galactic juggernauts that are the twigs. Weird that. Hope they enjoy Liverpool not getting out of second gear looking half arsed going through the motions to a plastic crowd. Oh the joys of the greedy league 🤣

Must admit, of all the clubs that HTAFC have no rivalry with, I dislike Liverpool the most. Still haven't forgotten the Superleague debacle, plus I don't like sport and politics mixing.

I've no love for Liverpool as a club, but I hate Manchester United far more. Simply because of all the glory hunters in the 90s. They also have a very nasty subset of supporters but never get any sanction or bad press for their appalling behaviour.

Manure were playing Norwich in the 1730 KO. The hotel we were in were one of the only bars that showed hospitality to them and opened the doors they treated the place like a toilet and reason to hurl abuse to teenage bar staff. Within half an hour they’d shut the bar and ruined evenings for families just wanting a quiet family meal/drinks. Absolute Neanderthals.

So many f***ing knobheads with MUFC bags and pencil cases, there were about three other lads (and one lass) besides me in my year who were Town fans.

I'm guessing Liverpool's glory hunters in the 70s and 80s didn't bother you as much. Edit. Just seen your reasoning. I suspect we're approximately the same age. It possibly also helps that I've never wanted Liverpool to win the league (other than during my brief spell of glory hunting as a kid in the 80s ). Certainly wanted Man Utd to do it in the final year before the Premier League! I'm not convinced Man Utd's fan base is any worse than anyone else's TBH. I've never had a bad experience with them, anyway. Liverpool are certainly not blessed with an entirely angelic fan base either. From my experience they're worse than the Mancs. Superleague reason applies to both clubs, obvs.

Man United (genuine) fans probably aren't any worse than any of the other "big" clubs, but they seem to get away with more because of all the tourists that fill their ground and clog up Manchester milling about in their half&half scarves.
As for playing songs on the PA for fans to sing along to, does nobody remember that "modernised" version of Smile A While from a few years ago? Sounded like a Poundland Kasabian. Thankfully it didn't catch on.

Don't particularly like it but it's an absolute gem compared to The Anfield Rap or that awful Manchester United Status Quo travesty... or to bring us back on topic, the version of "He's Got The Whole World in His Hands" that Clough's Forest team did with Paper Lace.

They also have a very nasty subset of supporters but never get any sanction or bad press for their appalling behaviour. In The West Island we had lots of glory hunting Forest fans in The 70’s - Liverpool in The 80’s - Manchester United in The 90’s - Chelsea in The (naughty’s) 00’s - Manchester City in the 2010’s and no doubt it’ll be Newcastle in the 2020’s Unfortunately for these ‘Glories’ someone richer comes along and what then - they disappear like snow off a dyke... Thankfully there is a small pocket of lads like myself who go with and stick with teams like Huddersfield Town - one of ma best buddies likes Crystal Palace and he did in their tenure in Division 3, another young lad likes Sunderland and appears to have no connection to the place whatsoever so that is nice in my opinion... There are also a lot of people from England who have happily relocated to The Whisky Isle and follow their local team - Swindon, Bristol City, Norwich, Leeds, Aston Villa, Portsmouth, Middlesbrough and Burnley have fans there that were originally from these places - All I can do is to thank the big man above for giving me the DNA to have picked HUDDERSFIELD TOWN - and all because I just liked the name !!! 😊

We are 2nd bottom mate and looked dreadful again. Couldn't give a toss about Forest. They’re not bothered about Town either. Edit: they picked Town’s second season to compare against. Can’t think why. Not updated this since 22 October. Probably cos they’re smashing the league and not bothered about Town anymore. Big club, back in the big league making in look easy.
