Their training sessions will be looking like that thing where 3 pros took on about 100 Japanese kids… If they get relegated this year they’re gonna be fucked, and there won’t be anyone with sympathy for their plight. Daft thing is, if they are struggling in Jan, you can see them rolling the dice again. Maybe this bloke was the Treasury Minister for Greece a few yrs ago? Have had the door locked and the curtains drawn, fucking sick of Forest officials bugging me and asking if I 'have a club at the moment'. Shouting through the letterbox now. Apparently, I 'could be' 28th choice centre back, ffs..😉

I get that, im just concerns that it seems like we started around the 10m mark rather than where id have valued him in terms of market value which would be 17m. When billing and grant were sold for 15m each to think a kid weve had since 11 who is clearly better than certainly billing is going for less than him is galling. All the while we keep saying we want to make money on players. You think Obrien is clearly better than billing? Not sure about that myself. But you have to factor in that when we sold Billing he'd already proven himself as a PL player, being one of our best players in 2017/18. Obrien hadn't so he left with the element of doubt that he could cut it. Valid point well made. I do think obrian is much better and brings much more to a team than billing, but I get your point.

A number of these players are going directly to Olympicos (don’t know how to say it but you know what I mean) so I’m guessing there is some financial benefit to the owner to bring people into Forest who now have substantial monies and rent then out to another of his clubs where perhaps money is a bit tighter.

so 22 players signed in this single transfer window? I mean that's .... fucking insane. They had a few outstanding loan players last season and obv a rebuild was required.. but lol, it wasn't like a Jacko 2003 like dilemma for Cooper.

Assume Forest fans wont care today but give it another few months and they might start wondering why their clubs funding a Greek sides champions league pursuit.

Or alternatively, use Olympiacos as a cash cow for Forest? Sign players for Forest then send them off to Greece, with a hefty loan fee and an agreement that Olympiacos pay the wages? As a way around any FFP issues? I'm just guessing here and I certainly don't know the reasons behind all this, but something's definitely not right with what's been happening between the two clubs. There may be nothing wrong legally, but there seems to be a fair amount of rule bending going on.

Good point as they are in Champions League so will have plenty of cash this coming year. Forest sign a player on 60000 per week loan him for 1200000 a week. Big profit. It’s all becoming clear now

A similar relationship to that of Watford, Udinese and the other clubs owned by the Pozzo family. So there is a precedent set.

Aside of the warranted piss takes everywhere, this must set a new precedent?
The wage bill must be astronomical.
I don’t think there’ll be any middle ground here. It’ll work or be a spectacular failure. I’ve no doubt their more hysterical fans on social media will be planning for their Champions League games next season…
Absolutely bonkers…

It’s all becoming clear now I thought they got knocked out of the Champions League already in the qualifying stages? the owners a greek, but on a business side it would make more sense to funnel money from Olympiacos to the premier league club, not the other way round.

Yeah I thought the same. They've qualified for the Europa League though haven't they?

The example given IS funnelling from Olympiacos to Forest, they gain 1.14m per week with a loan if that's how they are working it. (think they meant 60k per week then loan for 120k per week to funnel 60k to Forest)

It’s all becoming clear now They didn’t make the Champions league , but the cash cow comment made earlier is correct Question is how does any club in the Greek league have so much cash coming in to give it to Forest for player loans? Car washes, desert parlours and football clubs . It’ll all come out in the wash

Cooper strikes me as a very rational, pragmatic kind of guy. He'll clearly have been the driving force behind about 5 or 6 of their signings (including LOB and Toffolo), but surely he can't have wanted all 22 of the players they've shipped in? The scattergun approach seems like a recipe for disaster.
