In terms of workrate, commitment and desire that was a tremendous performance.
In terms of composure and quality on the ball it was pretty poor.
As it stands, the win was all important. Much more important than the performance. Hopefully we can build from here and gain some confidence to be able to play with more quality on the ball.

Great win and three points. Besides that we were awful. Big job for the new manager. We have zero quality in midfield. According to that clever cu!? Bromby we are fine. Really ? You talk some right shit mate. No quality in midfield? Kasumu, Holmes & Camara were all brilliant today

Not liking the lack of possession we have in all games. Always below 50%. If that continues we will stay near the bottom.

Cautiously optimistic.
The players gave everything for the coaches and each other. Nobody could be accused of not putting a shift in, except maybe Tino, but “putting a shift in” isn’t really his thing.
You can tell how low confidence is. Rudoni, Sorba especially panicking with chances we’d have buried last season.
Kasumu and Camara weren’t composed enough but they had bite and showed huge potential. Expect them to get better every game.
Defensively better, more solid and organized and Lees + Helik has potential as they get to know each other. Not sure on stats but it felt like Turton and Nakayama allowed far fewer crosses than we’ve been seeing. Nicholls back to his outstanding best.
In short it was ugly, ugly football today but that’s not what mattered. We desperately needed a win and we got it, now we have something to build on.

Not liking the lack of possession we have in all games. Always below 50%. If that continues we will stay near the bottom. Possession % is irrelevant, especially these days where so much possession is in teams own defensive third where they piss about with it. I'd happily have 20% possession and win than 80% possession and lose

And clean sheet to boot, defence has been a concern so far but to be to be fair Cardiff didnt exactly carve out many chances, we had by far the bast chances and really ought to have won by more, some good performances and a desire to work hard today.

Chico comes across unbelievably well in his press conferences. He’s a terrific asset and I’m glad he’s staying. Has me pumped and I’m about 8 pints deep.

Cardiff did not carve out many chances because, our work rate and defence stopped them. I saw a lot of wagner similarities in our display today, early goal and manage the game out with a win.

They’re talking about a more attractive style of play that the management/administration want on radio lids... but the most important thing at present is to move out of relegation stay up so forget attractive football let’s have some organisation 100%effort spirit focus determination team work and we got most of this today, it’s a start

All about the three points today (obviously!).
Low on confidence but worked hard and deserved the win.
It’s not exactly rocket science - play a simple formation, play them in their correct position and put 100% in!
Schofield had a shocker and we should have changed it earlier.

Did we have above 50% possession as an average of all league games last season? Plenty of games last season where we had less than 50% possession. It's the pass accuracy stat that concerns me. It was a case of getting a result today by any means necessary, but we had 56% pass accuracy against Cardiff . In the long term, that stat needs to improve considerably. But for now we just enjoy a rare win. We can worry about better football later.

Great 3 points, work rate better, midfield more steely Camara and Kasumu good performances, more grit and determination and Rhodes still knows where the net is but other than that it was a low quality game and if we're being honest and better team than Cardiff would have got something from that game after our 2nd half performance.

Confidence can make such a difference in life and we’re seeing that with this squad at the moment. They need picking up off the floor and getting the belief back that we had last season.
The work rate was there today and the quality will improve as confidence comes back, there’s plenty of individual talent in the squad.

Did we have above 50% possession as an average of all league games last season? I keep banging on about this but we have the players to play on the counter and then possession is largely immaterial. Kasumu, Camera, Jones, Thomas (in the right position), maybe even Tino, Rudoni and the Villa lad, have all the right attributes for that system.

That was all about the 3 points and nothing more. Certainly looked more balanced but the quality was lacking. Good initial impression of Camara and Kasumu together. Rhodes may not have the work rate of Ward but he’s a proper finisher. Rudoni on the left concerns me and Anjorin didn’t seem to be involved as much. I’d like to see them two swapped if we persist with this shape. All in all I’ll take the 3 points and look for another step in the right direction next time out

Camara is very good, we are giving the ball away far too easily, but not him. Can add Pat Jones to that also - talent. Very fast !!!

Really happy....just the performance that was needed to get the crowd behind them and a bit of momentum. Desire and commitment in bucket loads and a simple effective (on this occasion) formation that the players seemed to understand.
Yes we need to hold onto the ball.better sometimes, especially as we tired but I thought (despite what some seem to be saying) that kasumu and camara did well in midfield.....at least for the first hour or so. Bite and definitely some composure in tight spots.
Holmes was magnificent, as was Rhodes.
A performace best summarised by Turtons magnificent defensive header right near the end.
One small.step.forward....interesting to see where we go with the managerial.positon....

Frustrating when they don’t show the Rudoni chance or Thomas shanking it wide at the end. Pleased for Nichols today, a clean sheet to build on after the break. Made better by saving a penalty. UTT!!!

3 points, we all know the problems but work rate wasnt one of them today. Clear cut chances were ours, lots of possession for Cardiff but only the penalty and a free kick were we in danger from. Im against having too many back in the box who wont try to head a bouncing ball, it happened again today. We won, deserved to win and we move on.

The keeper booting it rather passing it out effects the possession stats. Some promising signs from certain players, Kasumu had a good first half, Helik looked like what i thought we’d bought in the second, i know Mbete is very very good, Rhodes looked the fittest he has since resigning and Camara is now another real option to add to the squad.
