They just couldn't see a way forward with Fotheringham. We are in the same position, with the same players. I think they are better than they have looked. I could not understand how players just disappeared from the starting squad when MF started naming them as 'at fault'. Nakayama suffered that but how we could do with him now. I know MF had nothing to do with his injury but to think he was picked out for criticism and we now have Lowton playing, poorly, out of position at left back. The man does not have the required skillset. |

The most feckless manager i can remember.
Must give astonishing interviews. Regardless, Bromby should be following him out of the door, a completely unacceptable appointment at the time and one which many fans questioned. Our stock has dropped drastically which will be a big concern now when looking for someone new. Bromby should be nowhere near the process, or club.

At end of the game last night the players came over to the fans and there was a sort of acknowledgement of the teams efforts. When MF came over 30 seconds later there a a round of boos and a bit of a chorus around ‘you are getting sacked in the morning’ and MF sort of did a quick turn and was first off the pitch. Once the fans are very clear (particularly away from home) what they think then a managers reign is pritty much over I think that for the next coach/manager we should forget about appointing someone with technical nouse and leadership qualities. We need someone who is a communicator and can empathise with the fans. I'll settle for just technical nous. It would be a massive improvement. |

In response to comments above.
No one expects a Messiah to suddenly take charge and oversee an amazing upsurge in form.
But we scarcely resembled a professional football team under MF. He was not getting the best - or even close to the best - out of the current squad. They aren't world-beaters, but I firmly believe they are better than what we have been seeing.
His replacement is not guaranteed success, but we have to take that chance. We couldn't carry on with a coach who, despite working hard and I'm sure trying his best, was ultimately nowhere near good enough.
Any change is a gamble, but I would suggest retaining MF was a greater one.

I’m actually quite looking forward to him popping up on a podcast discussing his time here, probably claim he rescued the club from relegation, played brilliant football and the fans were gutted to see him go. That sort of level of delusion.

I wonder what went on for the club to put out such a terse statement. Very unusual. However poorly the manager has performed there is normally a thanks for all your efforts. I don't suppose we will ever know but it is intriguing.

The band The New Seekers and these songs were before my time but by Jove they were pure pure quality unlike who I’ve linked them to...

Beyond words - 3 Year Deal with no release clause it sounds, I’m all for managers being paid well and one of the highest earners but not on that length especially as a rookie.
Him supposedly being shown the door just before Xmas and then not.
Having Carrick, Wagner amongst others available and interested then ending up with this chancer, almost like it’s a sabotage job.
Seen enough from this group of players to think if they get someone they’re willing to play for we can scrape staying up.
