It’s done. Mark Fotheringham is the new head coach. Very, very interested to see how this is dressed up after the 'we're under no illusions how crucial this decision is' line from Bromby to then go and hire another total unknown with zero head coach experience. It's not inspiring or exciting and it could go either way but we must get behind him.

Absolutely nothing that Hoyle doesn’t tell him to. I find it hard to believe that Hoyle would go from wanting a cult hero like Wagner to agreeing to a nobody in the space of a few days. Especially after the Siewert and Schofield appointments. Not even from the post stating that Wagners wife doesn't want to come back and that him and Christophe are being paid (presumably more than we'd pay) by YB's til the end of the season 🤔

Oh dear! My issue with them is they seem to have a cult following of other kids (and some smart adults) on twitter and I’ve seen them sending abuse towards Steven chicken which I think is uncalled for. I swear some of those Town fans are a phishing email away from losing their life savings... Steven is a brilliant journo and an even better bloke. He doesn't deserve any of the absolute crap thrown his way by this really bizarre cult that has appeared. Even if most members of the cult are the same people with multiple accounts. Such weird behaviour, even for 18-21 year olds. Is he a mate of yours ?

I assume the ones that didn’t want Wagner back are delighted with this appointment?

Lol town fans on Twitter and a few on here are hilarious, total meltdown that the club are poss not appointing DW who was an unknown assistant manager from Germany when we gave him a chance and instead poss going for an unknown assistant manager from Germany 🤔🤔🤔🤣😂🤣😂 Wagner was not an assistant, was head coach of BVB II. Lower than assistant

Bringing in another 'no mark' coach with no experience to a team who are cut adrift at the bottom is just suicide.
Get back early hours of Sunday for the Hull game so I was happy they changed it from Saturday but I'd rather stay at home & wash my holiday clobber now.

Town have managed to find a bloke who's name is even harder to fit into the "*managers name* barmy army" chant than Carlos Corberan Fotheringham fits perfectly! Same number of syllables as David Wagner and thar wasn't a problem.

Maybe they are testing fan reaction before pressing ahead?

Maybe they are testing fan reaction before pressing ahead? If they wasn't sure about the reaction of the fans then it just shows how out of touch they really are

I actually like the sound of this guy. Succeeded in a relegation battle. Worked under top coaches. 24-hour dedication to job like Carlos. German style pressing football. Tough taskmaster. Young and keen to impress. And a venture into the unknown! If appointed, I think he’ll do well.

Maybe he isn’t a bad option and people could give it a chance? We gave Siewert a chance, won 1 game in 19. We gave Schofield a chance, won 1 game in 9. We were left in the relegation zone on both occasions after Hoyles previous two appointments. How long should the fans give this guy?

My hot take on this, if it's true, is that we're looking at Siewert MK2 (or MK3, if you count the Schofield disaster along those lines).
Sounds like another lazy appointment.

Be balanced we take gambles as a club as we aren’t a big fish some will work some won’t, it comes with the territory at this level for us. The best thing you can do is at least try to get right behind it as it gives it more chance of success

If it's him, then that's a ballsy move, yet again. To be honest I feel more confident in him after seeing Bromby's statement. If he knows he absolutely needs to get it right, and still wants to go for Fotheringham, then he must have impressed.
I know bugger all about him, so am quite excited by the unknown quantities invoked. If he's anything like Magath we could be in for a very interesting time.

Of course the counter argument is that you take a chance in the summer not when the season is underway and you are at the bottom of the league.

Carlos wasn't appointed by Hoyle & ultimately didn't show him the ambition to keep him at the club which leaves us with the shit show circus we're currently witnessing. 4 months ago we finished 3rd & got to the playoff final, we're now cut adrift in the relegation zone. I don't know how much patience Hoyle thinks the fans have?
