If we win Sunday that’s a great point that would have been 3 if not for Mbete. I’m not blaming the manager for picking him, i was happy to see his name on the team sheet. Also, if we win on Sunday we go above Hull 😙

Much much better defending second half....didn't really give them much. Still struggling to create much in open play but some better signs but a long way to go.
Please can we moderate the language a bit on Mbete. Yes that was horrible first half for him but he's 18 and trying to.make his way. It looks to be too big a step at the moment for him but let's not demonise him

The only way to assess him is to play him (mbete). Overall I thought we showed a high level of commitment and has most have said far better result than anyone expected. Does MF keep his job.

turton is awful , if he cleared the ballat the end rather than messing around, kasumu wouldn't of had to made that challenge, too week, never goes up for the ball; KKH all day long over him I've seen absolutely nothing from KKH to say he should play

Well we kept a clean sheet in the second half and actually won the half. So based on that it's an upward trajectory, UTT!

At the end of the day MF has only been in the job 8 days and at least he is trying new things (Jackson, 2 strikers etc)
He played Russell and realised he should be nowhere near the team tonight, hopefully he will do the same for mbete.
I thought Thomas was much better tonight, turton was absolutely solid when he came on and should be starting every game for me.
It's not perfect, but this squad is a combination of the poorer half of last season's team that hugely over performed and a few recruits from the lower leagues, but I think MF deserves time

No idea where people are getting a “much improved” performance from tbh. Very ineffective, lacking creativity, only producing from set pieces yet again. Keep playing like this and we’ll be down. worked hard tonight and we got foreward well at times good point

I thought we played alright tbh despite the defending. Imo we played better than we did on Saturday which is a good sign. Can only get better as time goes on i imagine

Biggest positive tonight is that Mbete won’t play for us again.

The lad has literally been woeful. 18 or not, got to accept it. He will take all the praise he can gets in his career, got to take the shit (rightfully so) too.

Two bang average sides in a bang average game. Draw a reasonable result

If we didn't have Hoyle and Bromby in charge we would have won that.

I'm quite encouraged by that. You can't legislate for a young lad having a wobble like Mbete did first half. Once he was out of the picture we looked more organised defensively. I thought our build up play was generally good in the first 2 thirds and there was some clever passing and movement to resist their press. We definitely have a bit more zip about our play. Luton is a certified Tough Place To Go so I'm happy with a point from that.

I'm desperate to see the Examiner player ratings, just to see what Mbete gets. I'm guessing Steve Chicken gives him a 5 so as not to upset the club.

This team is way more comfortable playing 3 at the back, back to what worked last season.
Great performances from Sorba and Jackson down the flanks, Kasumu in the middle. We could do with another striker as I’m not sure Rhodes and Ward, despite their goal scoring ability, will work long term.
Plenty to build on there anyway!

Vaguely encouraged by that .
Seem to be playing for him.
Mbete shouldn’t be near the senior team again.

Jesus, I’m negative at times but come on it was a step in the right direction Boyle drumrigginbetc are a drain on any sign of progress best to ignore them

They need to cut out the sloppy passing and they wouldn’t have to work as hard.
At least you can start to see the intent now, we just looked aimless earlier in the season.
A few days for the KFC training spy to see how things are shaping up this week.
Shame that we’ll lose Kasumu for one game. If Mbete starts on Sunday he’s an awful lot to make up for. Let’s see if tonight is a chastening moment for him?
UTT!!!

Much improved I thought tonight in many ways and credit where credit is due we tried to play at a good pace. Better team selection, minus mbete but even MF was probably taken a back by just how poor he was. One thing I think we badly need to succeed in this new style though is pace across the team as it’s a very open formation and direct, as opposed to the conservative stuff under Carlos. We certainly needed some pace up top as an outlet today as wards and Rhodes were no where near balls into the box or over the top and offered very little movement despite trying hard

Turton was ok defensively but he's no use to any side which wants to hold possession. He either belts it down the line to no one or overhits it straight to the keeper.

Agree totally....when you are at one of if not the best club side in the world never mind country then with it comes a strong expectation to deliver uber consistently. Hes young and come to get experience here but looks well short of our level never mind top flight right now. Hopefully its a blip and he shows some real quality soon like colwill did last term.

Get yourself to bed lad and sleep it off. Turton has become a very good Championship defender. I’ve no problem with him at all. Limited going forward of course but when we are in the position we are in I think we need him in the team.
