Neither group seems to have much dough, so I hope we’re all prepared for a long stint of league 1 mediocrity

Any idea on how much either party are worth? The US are backed by a Billionaire family with ambitious plans for the club The Dutch group seem to follow a more sustainable model with Alkmaar making €125m profit on transfers in the last 8 years Have a guess which one DH will choose.

Assuming the Dutch group have more money behind them because on the face of it (and there's limited info available) Neelissen doesn't appear to have the funds on his own. That said he owns a chain of shoe shops in Holland so I could be totally wrong!

Also noticed Billy Beane invested in AZ so maybe this is a moneyball approach

Financial aspect aren't my strong point.
Would it be better for the potential new owners to buy us in administration than not?
If it is, we should go into admin now, take the points hit and reshape the club for next season.

The one that pays him more unfortunately. I also can’t shake a cynical hunch that he won’t want any owner to come in after who will splash the cash and make him look tight

It doesn't matter how much money those people have that are interested in us, the club will be sold to those who will pay Dean the most.

That said AZ are regularly in European competition and aren't one of the Dutch giants such as Ajax, feyenoord or PSV. So there is clearly ambition there.
Does he have to leave AZ if he's part of buying us?

My understanding is the purchase consideration and debt repayment is minimal, just for the new owner to be in a position to keep funding the club, show commitment to the club and hopefully get the club moving forward.

No surprise if they were the ones at the Coventry game They were. but the bottom line is that the team that played vs Coventry have little to do with it - they'll all be long gone come end of this season

If we go into administration, won't dean have no say in which group buys the club? Won't it be the administrators who decide which party is the preferred bidder?
For me, either or, if the US party have big ideas for the club then great. The Alkmaar group have shown they know what they are doing which is also great.
Personally, it would be great to be backed by some financially powerful people, but it doesn't guarantee success. My issues with the Americans would be if the big ideas are just that, words said that they ultimately are unable to do for one reason or another. But that is a common thing for town fans ain't it. The other thing would be how much they know about football, some American owners come over and are decent, others, not so much so. As for the Alkmaar group, they obviously understand football, well continental football, but still. They will have decent links, they have a mantra that we apparently have, but with a better grasp of it and evidence of it working.
I'm not sure which one I'd be most inclined to go with, maybe the Alkmaar one. Ideally you get them to merge and work together, something we've not been able to achieve with our two fans at the helm

I trust nobody. What concerns me with the Az mob is ultimately we would be in a pyramid scheme and I doubt we’d be at the top of it.
