If we go into administration, won't dean have no say in which group buys the club? Won't it be the administrators who decide which party is the preferred bidder? For me, either or, if the US party have big ideas for the club then great. The Alkmaar group have shown they know what they are doing which is also great. Personally, it would be great to be backed by some financially powerful people, but it doesn't guarantee success. My issues with the Americans would be if the big ideas are just that, words said that they ultimately are unable to do for one reason or another. But that is a common thing for town fans ain't it. The other thing would be how much they know about football, some American owners come over and are decent, others, not so much so. As for the Alkmaar group, they obviously understand football, well continental football, but still. They will have decent links, they have a mantra that we apparently have, but with a better grasp of it and evidence of it working. I'm not sure which one I'd be most inclined to go with, maybe the Alkmaar one. Ideally you get them to merge and work together, something we've not been able to achieve with our two fans at the helm Given our two previous owners in recent times, I’m skeptical and wary of anybody who comes in. I trust nobody. What concerns me with the Az mob is ultimately we would be in a pyramid scheme and I doubt we’d be at the top of it. Not being able to trust two actual town fans to do what’s right for HTFC is such a turn off. If they can’t be trusted it makes trusting anyone else very difficult. Reckon the Alkmaar guy is after a Watford/Udinese Brentford/FC Midtjylland type setup? We wouldn’t be at the top whilst sat in league 1 but if theres any success we would be. English football is where the money is.

but the bottom line is that the team that played vs Coventry have little to do with it - they'll all be long gone come end of this season Americans seem to have a misunderstanding understanding the nuances of “ supporting” when results don’t quite match their expectations.I am waiting information on their current position. Whilst the result and performance would have put anyone off, at least it was a fairly decent crowd, and I suspect that’s what any new owners would be more focused on at this point in time.

Admin could be a blessing in disguise , it clears the way for the two intersted parties. It takes all the rubbish blocking things currently out of the way. Yes we have to take a step back, but sort term step back, for a bright future. If admin is confirmed it shows Hoyle, is willing to walk away for next to nothing, to get the right people in.
Either the americans or this dutch group, neither want to fail , they both have ambition- in the AZ model, it is shown to work . In the americans case they have been intersted in football clubs in the past, therefore if the pathway is cleared would show ambition to get this club moving forward again. Baldwin was tasked with finding correct and proper suitors for the club .

Any idea on how much either party are worth? The US are backed by a Billionaire family with ambitious plans for the club The Dutch group seem to follow a more sustainable model with Alkmaar making €125m profit on transfers in the last 8 years Have a guess which one DH will choose. is it know whether they actually have a net billion bucks - or whether they have access to 3rd party funds for that amount (that will be interest-bearing)

For every good decision they on the face of it, make, I’ll question the next thing. The trust has gone and my hatred for those responsible runs deep. No captainslapper, shortbreadpete and prepare will convince me that they have good intentions or had bad luck. Fair play, some fans have defended and defended and defended them but the ownership, the sale, the shares (utter silence w t f?) and canalside are all issues yet to be sorted that will hold this club back. Going forward, I hope that we all as fans learn never to accept mediocrity, never put anyone on a pedestal, never let the club feel settled at ATT panels or let them think they’ve ‘made’ it. Those responsible don’t care, they don’t. All this with the best intentions is a myth. It’s self gain, it’s I’m alright jack, fuck everyone else. Egos far greater than their vision, morals lower than our league position and a mindset smaller than their ambition. They aren’t directors, they aren’t owners, they aren’t anything other than custodians and now we have club staff sat at home on a Sunday after another defeat wondering if the club are set to go into admin again after reading it in a shit house rag last night. Some of those staff have already experienced it at town before and now they have to sit through it AGAIN under the man who promised and promised and promised. Think of those who may lose their jobs too, those suppliers who will lose out, are they just entitled in wondering if they’ll have a job after next week or if they’ll get paid what they are owed? Absolutely sickening. Onto your second point, I think it’s very much that route that they’ll go down. I’m wary of it, purely because of the reasons I’ve stated above. I worry we will be soulless and no longer the community driven, vibrant, terrier spirited club we once were. I worry we will be used. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a successful model and works clearly, just not sure it’s for us. It may bring success but I worry about the price of that success given how we’ve gone from PL to league one and potential administration in 5 years. I look at issues such as The shares The stadium The ownership model Canalside The infrastructure of the club I wonder, if we go into an ownership model like that, will those things be given the attention they deserve?

Those who acquired Barnsley were also but they didn't put much in. They usually just pile debt on to clubs. I'd much prefer a link up type arrangement with AZ. Atleast they've proven they can run a football club well

They'll put cash in with a massive interest payment on it, just like they're doing at Burnley.

That almost every club is run like this these days. Heck Hoyle isn't exactly walking away for a quid. He is probs having to put us into admin to get a sale? what you have to ask yourself is to your statment is, why would the americans hang around so long with all the faffing around , if they were just going to take over and ruin it ?

Back in August the CL14 put a statement out questioning the club in its approach and the appoint of Schofield. As aspected, it split opinion. Looking back on it now, how does it sit rereading it? When you allow without question those to play games with your football club, don’t be surprised when it loses heavy especially when it goes out there with no plan. This has been coming for well over 12 months, small sections of fans have shouted out but it isn’t enough. What was it that wagner said, win together lose together? Well now we’ve lost, we need to win together and to do that we all need to stand up and be heard. Fight it, change it and never ever let it happen again. This clubs greatest asset is its fan base, its time to utilise it.

Agreed but these guys don't think like that. They're completely driven by money. They make a billion yet can't stop thinking about making another billion. They're wired differently from most people. Look at Bill Gates. As wealthy as they come yet still manipulated the Covid crisis for his own financial gain.

I say this tongue in cheek of course because I've long said the ATT panel was ineffective and practically a closed group. It never routinely surveyed fans opion, ever. As for the official supporters club...has anyone seen a post from them on this situation yet, anywhere ? So do we continue through this route, or start something else..hopefully with receptive new owners who aren't afraid to face the fans, to listen and to be honest and up front.
let's hope so.

The ATT panel is only as effective as the people at the top echelons of the club. If they don’t take onboard the fans views, then it doesn’t matter. For me, the club have repeatedly pushed back on the voice of the fans. The club haven’t done an open Q&A themselves since PH at the cinema. The only others have been organised by fan groups. It’s not a closed shop but I take your point on board. I think you make some key points that certainly I can’t disagree with but I will strongly disagree on the official supporters group. Their social media accounts explicitly question the situation at present, they along with other fan groups have openly asked questions and attempted to get answers - again, the club haven’t provided an answer.

Very interesting. So their policy of analytics to identify and progress the careers of academy players is a step up from what DH/PH were always aiming for. This is a whole new type of football governance and the sort of thing that i can see the present ownership going for as a replacement/enhancement to the system we have already. I'm wondering if some of these Alkmaar starlets may be given some loan time at Town instead of spending a fortune, gambling on PL duds. From feeling really dreary you have me feeling quite upbeat now. I'll see if I can find part 2.

Happy to cheer you up! And thanks for part 2

Does he have to leave AZ if he's part of buying us? No. Unless we both qualified for the same European competition - which I don't think we really have to worry about!

Marijin Beuker, Technical Director at Alkmaar, "AZ does not place great importance on tactics because, in their view, football is mostly about creativity and understanding the game." So this is where Mark Fotheringham was coming from!

Perhaps I'm way off the mark with this one but the AZ owners excite me far more than the Americans.
2 billion isn't enough to get trophies/European football just look at Chelsea. You then add the risk of them just pumping debt into the club and one day getting bored when it doesn't work.
The Dutch will hopefully loan us some of the best young Dutch talent and I am making the assumption they have a style they would like them play. Sustainability makes us a much more interesting proposition if we ever do get interest from a middle eastern prince or they get bored.
Let's face it, in the next ten year we're not going to be pulling up any trees. Let's get some exciting young footballers in and try and enjoy what we're watching. I think Huddersfield as a town is far more represented by this approach than spending £££ on shite league 1 players.

Let them make us the next brentford but with dutch players all over the park instead of danish ones.

Bored, and money to burn? If I had multiple billions then the idea of taking an underperforming English club for a fraction of my fortune and seeing what I could do with them would sound like a lot of fun. Agreed but these guys don't think like that. They're completely driven by money. They make a billion yet can't stop thinking about making another billion. They're wired differently from most people. Look at Bill Gates. As wealthy as they come yet still manipulated the Covid crisis for his own financial gain. I thought I read that Bill Gates gave enormous amounts of his wealth away?
