Right, how do I control my response here (with difficulty). For starters, my first game was in the 70’s (granted I can’t remember it). Pritchard the little useless goblin c**t is the worst bit of business Huddersfield Town has ever done. Like I say to anybody that is prepared to listen, as a free transfer signing he is the worst signing we ever made. BUT HE COST US £11M (ELEVEN MILLION). I am thinking of getting to the ground early and shouting at this waste of space c**t as he gets off the bus, ‘Pritchard, if you have a good game today it will be the first you ever had at this stadium’. I detest that little bastard more than any Player I have ever seen wear the blue and white stripes. Why you always on the fence? Say how you feel.

Had a poor game on Saturday and was sub'd on 70. His replacement scored and had a good game.

Did Malone or Afobe receive any boos? I certainly didn't hear any which was pleasing as it rarely helps Heard numerous around me for both. I am one who never really sees the point in it. But what Pritchard said about the club when he left, I would boo for that. What did he say? Must have missed that.

it's all part of the fun of the game. I remember one windy afternoon us all waving bank notes at Martin Smith at Sixfields and him looking visibly flushed at how much ill will was being directed at him and it was very funny. The Cobblers went 1 up quite early but then an advertising hoarding was blown off the roof of Sixfields and landed on a Town fan shortly before h/t in an adversely wind affected match and it was abandoned. We won the replay thus proving the gods of fate do generally hate all of us, but sometimes they cut a bit of slack for fans who feel short-changed by greedy mercenaries. But saying that when he wasn't injured, Smith was actually a good player in the brief period he played for us while drawing a huge wage. This guy was probably the most inconsequential waste of space we've wasted lots of money on since forever. Lol imagine the highlights video.

I just remember him criticising the club when he signed for Sunderland. Blaming us for his poor performances.

When will people realise that booing a player is only going to motivate them to want to do better. Your best option is to not even acknowledge him Whilst this is an absolutely fair comment, it will still depend on the mentality of the player. Like, I would never boo someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, you may as well as just give him the match ball...but Alex Pritchard?! Give that little pecker all you've got. He'll be in tears after 10 minutes and I expect his imaginary cyst will definitely flare up. He deserves every bit of shit coming his way.

After Hoyle went on record saying he overpaid for him, Pritchard said it wasn't his problem (true, but compare that to Schindler feeling a duty to take that penalty as the record signing). Then also inferred that he kept the club in the prem, and that he was never injured during the spells where he wasn't selected, which I found bizarre. His infamous cyst issues were well documented. I also ran into him once at an away game, where he said he was injured!

I could run on the pitch and smack the little bastard. I'm surprised that's never happened to a referee, tbh. Very nearly did by Carlos, one of the New Inn HYC boys. Against QPR or Wimbledon I think it was and one of the worst reffing performances I've ever seen. But was still surprised to see Carlos saunter up to him and start giving him shit. And knowing Carlos I was surprised to see the ref still on his feet

I remember Pritchard getting MoM in both his home (Bournemouth) & away (WBA) full debuts for Town, he scored a goal, won a pen & threw in a couple of assists, those six points contributed hugely to Town staying up, I won't be booing.........maybe we should have sold him after the Chelsea game?

Not a fan by any means, but he did score the last goal for us in the PL, pouncing on Southampton’s keeper to rob him and score. Didn’t look uninterested then!

Don't think anyone booed Malone or Afobe, both gave it plenty when they played for us. Even Malone, with his wafer thin legs, he wasn't great but he didn't strike me as someone who didn't care. must've took a lot of character from Afobe to come and hold down a place for us as a 17 year old, when there was a lot of competition up front. Malone was limited at PL level but always did his best, he was an attacking full back for Fulham, then moved to a side that wasn't quite good enough to facilitate an attacking full back. Got a fair bit of stick that season which I felt was unfair. Also seem to remember he came quite close to giving us a famous win at Man City right at the death, it would've kept us up before the Chelsea game I think.

Think all us as fans want as a minimum is as close to 100% effort in every game as possible, a lack of ability is something else but there’s no excuse for the former. You can count on one hand the number of games Pritchard put the required effort in and as for the cyst on the knee excuse for not playing, absolutely unacceptable. You could tell he wasn’t up for the fight quite early on and he just went missing which given the wages he’d have been on was unforgivable really. I won’t boo him on Wednesday every time he touches the ball but I know plenty will, assuming he starts the game. If he’s introduced as a sub, well that’s a different matter 😃. And there’s bound to be a few chants of “what a waste of money” and he absolutely was. Can only imagine what was running through Hoggy’s head when Prickchard was excused from playing for having a spot on his leg, it’s akin to having a note from your Mum as to why you couldn’t have a shower after games at school back in the day. Weak as piss.

In his last 53 championship appearances. Zero goals, 4 assists. Don't boo him though 😱 That is astonishing for an ‘attacking midfielder’.

Didn't motivate Snodgrass last season. Happens everywhere. It will always happen. Personally, I love it when a booed player takes it and gives banter back. If Pritchard gets booed and takes it. Fair play to him. Why would anyone boo Afobe?

I'm 99% sure that's where the OP is coming from! I thought that was obvious, clearly not. I can obviously see where you're coming from but there are examples where players have either lost it or gone into their shell (E.g. Alex Bruce / Gordon Watson). ...& you're ignoring the plain & simple fact that booing the little man will provide a cathartic release for all the sh*8te and stress he put us through. ....& TBH if a 10% improvement in performance from Pritchard (based on his time here) is the difference between us winning or losing then we were absolute dog-sh*8te on the night in any case.....

Why would anyone boo Adobe? No idea. There's no reason to boo him from a Town perspective. He was a decent player for us. And he was only here on loan from Arsenal. He hardly snubbed us for a bigger club. Strange, he looked to have so much promise as a youngster. Moved several times for big money but I don’t think he managed more than 2 seasons at any one club and now he is coming on as a late sub for Millwall. Funny old game.

It happened to a linesman at Leeds Road. Never heard about that. Backend of the season we like to forget 87/88. Two idiots attacked the linesman. Apprehended by Paul Raynor I believe.

Booing fires some up, rattles others.
A bit like cricketers. The opposition used to always say don’t rattle some players: I remember Dean Jones making Curtley Ambrose take his sweat bands off and all Jones’ team mates wanting to strangle him as he found a few extra yards of pace!
Who can forget Devon Malcolm taking 9/53 vs S Africa? They bounced him a couple of times, getting his back up, as he went off between innings he told them all he was about to murder them.
Smith, Kolhi, KP, Warner…they all need firing up to play at their best. They’d face a wall of silence whilst others were sledged and fell apart.
I’d definitely have Pritchard in the latter category. Give him hell and I’m sure he’ll be scared to touch the ball.
