Oh man I feel for Yuta, he would have been playing in the world cup too, he must be gutted. There's loads of players out of the World Cup due to its ridiculous timing.

Awful for Yuta. Bad for Town. Problem position and we're back to square one.

On the bright side... I'm guessing he'll still be with us next season now. On the down side, he may not be ready for the start of next season whichever division we are in.

Mbete has had a nightmare start here. But for people to question his ability is ridiculous. Pep is a huge fan of him. He has been a squad member of probably the best team in the world.Guarantee he goes on to a better career than any single player we currently have. I would normally agree with the bit in bold, but you look at the size of those squads and wonder how much the main man will actually know about him, that he'll have gleaned personally & not from his reporting sources. I don't disagree that he'll probably have a better career than any we have at the moment, but again, that's a sad indictment of how the moneyed clubs can use that fiscal power to hoover up hundreds of kids. We've had some very decent loans at the level we're playing at right now, but not all of them have gone on to claim regular first team places at their parent clubs. I bloody hope there's a decent player in there though, we'll certainly need to use Mbete with the state of our injuries in defence. To be fair, he put him on the bench 16 times in the Prem last season, as well as the Champions League QF and SF. Guardiola doesn't strike me as the sort of manager to fall for the old "George Weah's cousin" trick

Lees was ill??? Not defined.. Tino could be next week given what he had, or months.. Simpson was always going to be December from the day we brought him here. Jones should be back later this month but of course we wont be playing.. God send of a month off, if you ask me.. Lets hope Jackson has the teenagers bouncebackability.. Had we scored first last night we would have won, I have no doubts. I am concerned as much as anyone about the whole club from the top down but am nowhere near despair as yet.

We should be able to recall some loanees if we want. not sure any have exactly been pulling up trees though. REG hasnt played I dont think. High tends to get on via the bench every so often. Critchlow perhaps?? Danny grant might be useful to have back.

I cant even remember what caused Yutas injury, bad tackle, fair challenge but unlucky, or something innocuous.

Presumably when he was at his parent club, sometimes getting in the matchday squad of, arguably, the best club side on the planet ? Mbete has had a nightmare start here. But for people to question his ability is ridiculous. Pep is a huge fan of him. He has been a squad member of probably the best team in the world. Guarantee he goes on to a better career than any single player we currently have. The thing is, when playing for the Abu Dhabi Al-Stars Circus Mbete is/was surrounded by the greatest talent on the planet. They can cover for him; they can make the passing and receiving of the ball easy for him; they can generally make life easy for him. At HTAFC he is surrounded by mainly L1 standard players who have been desperately trying to emulate Premier League tactics and skills for six years now, with very little success. That's why he looks poor. He may well be better than we've seen but when he's surrounded by dross it isn't going to help him.

I cant even remember what caused Yutas injury, bad tackle, fair challenge but unlucky, or something innocuous. Was a challenge but both seemed 'side on' to the ball and nothing out of the ordinary. Might well have been a tear or the like, probably been better it being an impact one to be honest.. He needed more games to get settled for us and him playing in the world cup would have boosted his confidence and ours that we had an international playing regular for his country, shitty for him and us..

Absolutely gutted for Yuta. A real blow for club and country. The ref really should have halted the game for 15 mins when the weather was at its worst towards the end of the first half- the conditions were obviously unsafe, but hindsight is 20/20.

I suppose those of us who remember the 70's (I do barely) or the aftermath of Rubbery, or administration into league two, or Jacko's now infamous 8 players, Wadsworth, etc can take this shit season a bit more readily than the "newer" fans. Although some of the old-timers on here seem to be shitting their pants too, I'm with you, not quite ready to slash my wrists just yet.

Yuta's injury, the timing of it (for him and the club) and the context of our current injury list and league position seems to be one of the biggest blows I can remember.
Am I right in thinking we missed Mooy for a crucial period in the 2nd Prem season when everything seemed to be going against us? Can't think of many others that really seemed like a huge blow but sure there must be many.

Poor old Yuta. Only 25 so got he's the chance of at least 1 more World Cup in him after this, and if there was one I'd want to miss as a player it'd be this shitshow in Qatar, but it doesn't take anything away from how upsetting it must be. I hope to see him back stronger, in a Town shirt, in the Championship next season. Whatever the case he'll get a big welcome back from me.
It's fucking scandalous how the powers that be are risking the wellbeing of players with these ridiculous schedules. It's no coincidence that the Covid season was similar for injuries.

Absolutely gutted for the lad.
This season is becoming a bit of a write off in every way.
Least the young lads are getting experience in both game time and pressure. Long term that can only be a good thing.
I think the fan base overall realise this and I applaud us for getting behind them in these dire times.
It is easy to turn up and sing when we are winning. I think this situation is bringing fans back together in the ground and encouraging eachother.

Anyone think there might be a link to the glut of injuries and the new beastings dished out as part of the new SAS who dares wins training regime?

Gutted for Yuta that he misses the world cup. Going by the time it took Eze to recover from the same injury he may be back for the start of next season or just after. Good player to have in a league one relegation battle

Posted several weeks ago this was bringing back memories of 87/88 for me, just had that feeling, BUT the last 2 performances have lifted my spirits somewhat. We’re not a terrible side, we do lack goals certainly and we have too many young players all being blooded at the same time (which in the long run won’t do them any harm), it’s not a great Championship this time around and even Fotheringham is starting to win me over. These injuries are killing us but the month off for this circus of a World Cup will help our cause and we’re then only a month away from another transfer window. The game is far from being up although I accept we have a real job on our hands to stay up and the next 4 games look tough on paper. UTT

Another saving grace, I think, is that MF has very quickly and very openly supported bringing the lads up through the ranks so given the issues we have, he will have no problem raiding every player asset the club has....might see the catering staff come on for 5 mins

Obviously a player there. Will need time playing in highly competetive games to be able to use undoubted talent alongside a different level of physicality and attitude. We play a very different game and very different opponents to citehs u23s... This should be where he learns that he wants to play for city not us but unless he impresses on loan his chances are limited and his education here will give him a good leg up if he makes the city team regularly. Have to learn to cope with championship strikers if you really want to deal with Salah and Kane etc...The best strikers will leave one on you, just a bit quicker or cleverer.
