I don't want to appear a pedantic dick or anything but it's actually The Netherlands and Holland is a province in The Netherlands not the official name of the country. Too late, you just did. Only joshing. Good to know. I've put 'Holland' into Worldle a few times to no avail and now I know why exactly why. Good to know. Although at my age, old habits die hard, so don't expect me to change overnight.

England and the USA will make light work of this group, I cansee Iran or Wales pushing any threat, Wales rely on Bale too much and Iran seem to be in indifferent form coming in to the finals. If England will the World Cup I will bare my arse on the Town Hall steps. Usually, we're (USA) pretty underrated in tournaments but I think the opposite is true this year. I think it's because we have many players at big clubs but it's the youngest team at the world cup and most of those players are on the periphery of those big clubs. That, with an injury crisis at CB and a shit manager, makes me wonder why some people think we'll easily make it out of groups. I think Wales and us are pretty equal.

On paper it's the toughest group of them all. The only group with all 4 teams ranked in the top 20, nobody is taking it as easy...

I don't know what to make of you this time, you probably lack a Clint Dempsey type of player but I do think you have a reasonably handy squad there and I do think you will beat Wales with the Iran game being pivotal in getting to the knockout phase.

I'll take your word for it, Pulisic is the only one of yours I could think of 🤷♂️

Sounds like Maguire and Phillips will be starting. I get that they have performed for him before but they've barely played this season. Probably fine against Iran but not so sure it's a wise move in our other games

Perhaps the Scotch fans are getting to me, but does anyone else want the England team to not win a game? When you can't qualify for a 32 team tournament it's probably best for the Jocks to shut the fuck up.

Could be rather controversial.

Can't seem to put it on this message. But one of my mates up here sent me a picture of the Scottish team, one of those pre kick off photos, all looking at a TV. Funny as😂😂

How does Sterling get in ahead of Foden feeling England will make hard work of this

Just glad he hasn't gone with Phillips.
I thought he'd go for the safety of a draw in the first game.

At least he's only gone 4 at the back, admittedly, he'll revert to a back 5 soon enough but I wouldn't have been surprised if he had gone 5 at the back vs Iran.

Mount starts whilst Foden is on the bench. Shut the door on your way out, Gareth.

Maguire and sterling start. GS being very loyal to these two. Defo don’t start on current form, but he defo has trust in his players. Hope it’s not misplaced.

Mount starts whilst Foden is on the bench. Shut the door on your way out, Gareth. Agree that foden should start.. But more likely in sterling’s position not mount.. 5subs as well so will get some game time.. You often find that a team evolves through the tournament.. When we were robbed in Argentina the team didn’t start to play until hoddle got picked.. 🍻

Stones and Maguire in a back 4, there is a couple of rickets in both of them.

How does Sterling get in ahead of Foden feeling England will make hard work of this Agree with the first bit, there's a reason why Pep was quite happy to sell Sterling while giving Foden a massive new contract, although I think we will win comfortably today, and so we should.

England managers have always been conservative since the year dot.
I remember Glen Hoddle being reluctant to start Beckham and Owen in England's game against Romania in 1998. Ended up costing us top spot and we had to play Argentina instead of a far weaker Croatian side in the next round. Rest is history.

If Webb hadn’t got injured before Italia 90 Gaza wouldn’t have started. We are so negative
