I've gone for the SF stage.
On rankings our group isn't the easiest anyway. Wales will be right up for it, wanting to get one over their neighbours.
Will this be another exercise in assessing how strong our domestic league is as well, bringing up all those old debates?

Im hoping that grealish and maddison, bellingham etc do what they do for their club sides. After that, who knows? You will be able to tell after we go one up against a decent side..

Slip-ups against both USA and Wales are not out of the question.
What are the bookies offering to not get out of the group? That's where my money would be going. Well I'd have a pound on it anyway.

Quarter Final at the minimum but probably no further than the semi finals at best

Think we'll get to the semi finals and get beat. How about these for bets:- 1/ Uruguay, France & Argentina all to make the 1/4 finals at 10-1 (Paddy power)
2/ Messi & Ronaldo both score with a free kick in Qatar.12-1 (Hills)

England and the USA will make light work of this group, I cansee Iran or Wales pushing any threat, Wales rely on Bale too much and Iran seem to be in indifferent form coming in to the finals.
If England will the World Cup I will bare my arse on the Town Hall steps.

Just been reading about the yanks and they've got various issues going into this, injuries and key players who've barely been playing this season. England 'should' win the group comfortably and I think the taffs will go through in 2nd.. sadly.

France are not gonna retain the trophy I don't think, and may surprise some how early they go out. They were shown to be complacent and had a bad dressing room in the euros. No sign of this having changed. The side they've been warming up with is weak, and they're lacking some very big players due to injury.
If England get to the point of playing against them I think we'd actually beat them. I'm concerned we won't get out of the group though, the weather will be doing a number on our lot more than it will be on Iran. A bad start there and it could be tough going.

No Benzema is a huge loss, compounded with no Nkunku, Pogba, Kimpembe and possibly the biggest loss, Kante. They've still got Lloris, Varane, Mbappe and young, relatively inexperienced Tchouameni and Camavinga. Kingsley Coman is decent, Dembele on his day. If France were to win it it would be some achievement considering the players they are missing. They'll still have Greizemann and probably Martial up front too if he's called up.
It will end like this imo
1. Holland 2. Denmark 3. England 4. Argentina
