Sadly it’s not the first time for RS either apparently his family were robbed whilst he was up north playing at MC . Totally understandable why he’s gone home .

Tough game v France of course. Am I right in thinking that the winners of that game play the winners of Argentina v Holland? You’ve got to face the big teams at some point of course. Not sure, Captainslapper is the one with the wall chart on his bedroom wall. Studied my wall chart and I can confirm if we beat France we'll play the winners of Spain v Portugal ( if they overcome Morocco and Switzerland as expected) in the semi final.

Bit like that where I live now. When we moved in I asked a neighbour about crime in the village ( I was putting my alarm up ) and after a bit of thought he remembered somebody's shed got broken into about 20 years ago and they took his lawnmower! Theres a couple in the village who take their younger dog for a walk for an hour or so and leave their front door not just unlocked, but wide open, so their older dog can go out for a piss if it needs one. Raheem Sterling needs to move here.

Make it a Botanist from The West Island Stan ! - or even try our newest one Nerabus Gin or Lussa Gin from our near neighbours across The Sound of Islay on The Isle of Jura... I can’t garauntee you a win for England but I can garauntee you’ll enjoy any of these three gins - Let you’re fun Be-Gin !!! 🍸🍸 Those gins sound lush Westie. Unfortunately I'm no connoisseur, a cheap bottle from Lidl is plenty quality for me. I only drink the stuff once or twice a year. I've just recently gone over a year without drinking any alcohol whatsoever. It's not the alcohol I have a problem with, it's the sugar.

Raheem Sterling needs to move here. Or improve his security system.

Both France and England are better going forward than defending. I hope Southgate realises that our best hope is to get at them rather than focusing on stifling Griezmann and Mbappe and stopping the service to Giroud. Possibly get a few “reducers” in on them early doors, then use subs if we’re getting too many yellow cards. But other than that, I hope we’re positive and let them worry about our forwards. All very obvious I know.

Let other big teams worry about is for a change. Hope I am wrong. But a change to a defensive lacklustre performance with a 2-0 defeat is my prediction. Unless he sticks with what is working and doesn't worry about the opposition, then we definitly have a chance.

We do have the quality to beat them , when I put the squads side by side I think they’re comparable in terms of quality and depth . Be an exciting game with England shading it I hope !

Henderson, Rice and Bellingham have been superb as a trio. Be interesting to see if Mount or Rashford start ahead of Saka and/or Foden. All quality players so we should give them a good game. I still believe we should build around Foden no matter what. Bramall Lane then quarter final. Could be a painful day all round 😀

Still loving life out here in Doha, bumped into Bozzie and co at the Wales game beforehand and after the USA game we bumped into a Town fan from Brighouse wearing his BELIEVE t-shirt. On the sly there is quite a few Town fans out here.
England, well we’re doing alright aren’t we. Aside from that USA game we’ve won at a canter. Last night we rode our luck in the first half but when the chances came we took them. Bellingham, what a player, he has come on leaps and bounds since I first saw him play against Town.
Qatar/Doha. We have had the warmest of welcomes from everyone here. Locals/ex pats/migrant workers, everyone has a smile on the face. They are so proud to be hosting this event. The group stages were party central with fans of all nations getting on with each other, a World Cup like no other because we are all in one place . I said before I came out that Doha wants to show it can be a destination to compete with Dubai and Abu Dhabi and other than being short of the old all inclusive packages my verdict is it certainly can

I think France will expose all the weaknesses in our back 4, I shudder to think about MaGuire v Giroud, Shaw or Walker against Mbappe. Our only hope is I don't think the French defence is all that hot either. Ultimately I think it'll be down to who scores first because either side having the chase the game will become further exposed to breakaways, something both sides are good at. Could be a high scoring game, but nerve wracking for the fans...

All the focus is on their front line, but I believe France have yet to keep a clean sheet in this tournament, even if some of those goals came when the game was won. It'll be a tight game, we're pretty decent on the break ourselves, here's hoping.

France can expose weaknesses in any back line so it’s no big surprise and not a slight on our back 4, who have been excellent again apart from Maguire’s passing out from the back last night. It will be real tough but we have a team good enough to beat anyone.

Hoping Southgate and the boys take note of what having balls the size of Fylingdales has done for the English cricketers today.

However he has generally done quite well with important well timed interceptions and to me has been an integral part of of an encouraging campaign so far. Here’s hoping that continues on Saturday and beyond. 👍🏴👍

We get caught when it takes an age to get the ball up the pitch, everyone moves a bit, everyone has a touch or two, its too slow and we end up with everyone too close together, too flat and one long ball catches us out. Truth is we have an attacking 3 or 4 at any one time that can play quick, one touch stuff that gets us opportunities. Add that to a good set piece team, I dont see that we need to slowly move up the pitch and try to press too high?

Despite Senegal’s 2 x well saved chances by Pickford was never really worried last night even before the well worked first goal. Obviously the Kane 2nd just before the break made life a whole lot more comfortable and felt we had the game won, managed it well second half and made a nice change to watch a game fairly stress free (be that club or country) from 40 minutes onwards. Bellingham was outstanding, a really strong squad to call on if / when needed and feel that England could have stepped up several gears if they had needed to.No reason to think that cannot continue and feel Gareth Southgate and been brave and focussed with his often unpopular selections but has been proved to be right so far with every one.

The keeper, striker, back 4 and middle 3 are sorted. It’s the remaining 2 places that people will debate. Spoilt for choice.
