Have there been any red cards yet in the tournament? None yet and no goals direct from free kicks either, unusual after a good few games played. Dodging the Welsh biased commentary surely Iran have been the more likely first half and that is encouraging for England who brushed aside an Iran team who look semi-decent today. Wales look toothless so far. Did we comment too soon on both counts? 😱 |

Totally deserved. Iran the better team throughout. Would have been a travesty if they hadnt won that. Wales were shite. I remember Aaron Ramsey leading all the welsh players in their celebrations at their hotel when england got knocked out of the euros that time. despite half of them being English! Well Im laughing my socks off at the plastic taffs now. Totally outclassed and dumped out by Iran .  And did bale play in that game? Could have sworn I saw his name in the team line ups at the start. |

Plenty of pointers that these ‘minnows’ are actually very talented teams technically.
Just before they scored the first, I looked at that long range shot and that summed up the difference in decision making. Then they went and scored twice…
Too much reliance on Bale.

Moore starting instead of genuine pace must have pleased Iran, who were obviously targetting this game and the USA game to get points in. Fitness wise Wales were lacking, might have been the heat as well.. Iran were closed off against us, not today and they can play given time and space. |

They've got some decent players on paper have Wales but the Iranians were better in every aspect of the play. Better technically, better movement, better fitness, better passing, better shooting. Bet the Wales players earn 100 times more than the Iranians do! |
