Just watched a programme there on BBC 1 Scotland (probably on BBC 1 Yorkshire as well) called FIFA WORLD CUP 1970 in tribute to Pele ! Some good players in that Brazil team - The late great man himself Pele, Jairzeeno, Gerson, Rivilino, Carlos Alberto and Toasto among others... The old World Cup ๐ it was presented as well... Good programme that at an open fire with a few bottles of Magners and a few Auchentoshan malts ! Played three days before I was born too !ย Did you see the mayhem after the final whistle Westie? Reminded me of chucking out time on a Saturday night in Glasgow!

I've mentioned this before but the father of an old mate of mine worked at ICI in Hudds and for a few years was sent to live in Mexico City to help set up a chemical plant. They were there when the 1970 WC was on and attended the final so I heard first hand from his dad all about it and what a special team that was and Pele was the jewel in the crown. Sadly he passed away in 2020 aged 91 and now Pele has gone too. RIP to a true icon of the game.
