All I’d say is there are many, many people out there with far too much time on their hands posting absolute pap. Wonder how many are retired, how many are pen pushers sat in front of a screen posting on datm all day every day when they should be doing what they’re paid to do? A lot I’d wager. Says the man who has just made two posts on this thread in one minute. That's them told. A) I’ve made less than 3500 posts in 12 years, I tend to stop posting completely in the close season B) I work for myself and have given myself Christmas off but will generally post late at night, long after the working day is over Think that’s them told! 😉 |

We’ve also sadly lost a fair few good ‘uns over the years on here, but they’ve all been sent off by DATM with a lot of respect… Goodshot would have been up towards the 30,000 mark and Oti wouldn't be far off. Scoffa would be up there too. Three huge characters we lost there and there were many more. |

Thinking of Scoffa, I got to thinking of Town fans who've been on TV quiz shows.
Scoffa was on The Weakest Link, there used to be footage of that online but I can't find it.
Snow was on Pointless for two days running with his lovely daughter.
And Oti once claimed to have been on 15 to 1, a claim I honestly don't doubt for one minute.

Congrats to the wonderful DATM, posters and crew. I wouldn't want to share my shit with anyone else.  Hall of shame. A couple of things to note. I too, joined around 07/08 and racked up 3,000 posts or so under a previous name (possibly Soul Man or something like that). I'd say there are quite a few who have racked up the posts but under different names. Ben, for one and Dig1, for another will both have at least 25,000 posts. I've met them both. Both tossers  joking Terrierdaz obviously doctored his own post count because he could. He also doctored portugalterrier's post count because portugalterrier was calling me a sad ******** in the match thread for having a lot of posts. So Daz just edited his post count to one more than mine (which was quite funny). Obvious love and respect to otium in there. Wish I'd returned earlier to say goodbye. Both myself and Slapps have been banned by the same certain ex-admin for fuck all. I did wonder if he had a touch of post count jealousy. My 1 month ban mysteriously continued for 13 months before I emailed Ted to ask him if he could sort me getting back on. I had multiple bans for very little by an admin who has since passed away. When I asked him why, he said because it was 'like shooting fish in a barrel'. His very own words. I believe he was a doctor by profession too. I was even banned by the Sheriff of fecking Huddersfield for god's sake.  Worth mentioning, I don't think the forum has ever been in as good hands as it is right now. A big part in my returning. How did someone not stop Nick posting 32 THOUSAND posts of pure waffle? |

There deffo was a Town message board prior to 2007.
I remember the play off final season of 2004 when there were a couple of posters from Torquay United and Mansfield (Staggy was his name) who used to post a lot.

Thats what I was thinking of.. Rivals. It was still Down at the Mac on there wasnt it? Used to get a load of visitors from other clubs, especially chickens . Thrupennybithead and Queenybantam amongst them as I remember !? ….and Vivian!? Queenybantam was on here until Town won promotion to the Premier league. A complete idiot and possibly the funniest wum in terms of predictions. I don't think he was active in the early days. Viv was ok but got driven off the vicious replies by some who didn't get him/ her. |

Downatthemac had a least two incarnations before this one. The first one I registered on was - I believe - Geoff's original DATM on Geocities. You posted a comment and had to wait for Geoff to upload it! It was a single list of messages - no threads. Then we went to Rivals (which I liked until Rivals re-designed their sites and we all moved to this one). That was late 2007 and we've been here ever since. |

That 32k that he racked up before his ban was his second go! Imagine that, 70,000 individual posts of utter shite! His ban was the single best thing to happen on here in 20 years. |
