Stoke to be awarded the 2011 FA Cup 😊😊😊 And Town to have the 10-1 reversed at Maine Road, equalling our biggest ever league win!

While it’s a different part of the world and a different sport, NRL clubs in Australia have had titles stripped because of salary cap breaches. If the EPL are going to maintain credibility, then stripping them of titles along with relegation will be the only way to deter blatant cheating. Hahahahahahahahahahha…. EPL & credibility in the same sentence… Bad people only get away with things when good people do nothing. This will need a media campaign, hopefully Etihad doesn’t advertise in the UK papers to such an extent that losing that revenue would be catastrophic.

I know this is an incredibly minor point, & I'm sure Man City aren't the only club doing stuff like this, but, probably around 2010, a temp working in our office had an 8 year old son who was in Blackburn's academy, she told me (& I've no reason to think she'd lie about it, though nothing to back it up either) that Man City offered her £12k per annum to take her kid to City, they would put her husband on the payroll as an assistant groundsman, obviously without him having to go in to work. I can believe this. Maybe one of the reasons Dean decided to change the way the academy runs and just go for the older youngsters that have been released from these academy’s like city’s. Football at the top end is full of corruption. It’s similar to the Tory party.

Sounds plausible, there was something mentioned on the price of football podcast previously, I'm sure it was something to do with Tom Ince's mum being put on the payroll at Derby (surprise eh!), as a loophole to them not breaching ffp on player wages.

The timing's a bit suspect - 24 hours before the white paper on football governance was due to be published. Perhaps that's why the PL are finally showing their hand now, of all times. The whole thing stinks. Hope they all go bust. The thing is, there’s rarely any come-uppance for all these folk who are in it together. If Man C have been doing this for yrs then I suspect other clubs will have been doing so to some degree as well. Chelsea being the obvious candidate, but coming hot on the heels of Abramovich having to flog them, will that bloke who now owns them want to see his investment trashed etc. I’m not alone on here in wanting the PL to be served a harsh dose of reality, but I’m not sure how badly this pan out for everyone involved, once the lawyers get involved and horse trading comes into play. Imagine if Man C were hit with a relatively nominal fine and a transfer embargo, but are allowed to retain their current squad and wage deals? It would potentially mean that Man C have their wings clipped for a season or two. This story will fade into the background once the next round of PL and CL games come into view, it’ll be demoted down the pecking order. As for the white paper, that’s now been delayed again. Don’t feck with the 💰💰💰💰💰💰💰 The ESL discussions may also be reinvigorated on the back of all this, and one thing is for sure. The people now holding the power in our game, TV/betting co’s & the foreign owners, will hardly be prepared to allow this to get in the way of their power grab on the game.

Seen a lot of folk wanting them sent down to the Championship, today.
No thanks! It's hard enough down here.

Amazing how Derby, Wednesday and Wigan all got punished and deductions etc.
City will get away lightly, there will be some punishment but not enough to dent their ambitions.

I’ll never forget the amount of back room staff they had when they came to our place. Must have been 20 of them.

I can't stand any of the clubs who flout the financial fair play rules. I can not believe they have been honest for a long time, I would include Man City, Chelsea, and now Newcastle as three clubs spending way more than they take in. I would like to see them all published severely because I think it has changed football for the worse for ever.

It'll be a £50k fine and a stern telling off, jobs a good en. Even if you added another couple of 0s on to that it’s still meaningless to them

Thats the fear but I actually think they will be hammered if found guilty. This investigation has been going on for 4 years just to get to this point and City have apparently been hindering the investigation as much as they can throughout. There are so many accusations over such a long time, then if guilty I think they'll have the book thrown at them. Bans from europe, relegated ( possibly lmore than 1 division as Rangers were ), transfer embargoes ....I think they'll have various things thrown at them and purely for selfish reasons the other PL clubs will demand it.

If they are relegated to the Championship 2 scenarios spring to mind. 1 Leeds finish 3rd bottom so are kept in the PL 2. 4 teams are relegated to Div.1,and Town having just got out of the bottom 3,are relegated....Hope the case drags on for years

Getting back to the original topic of this post, not sure how this works. Both the PL and City have KCs on their side from the same chambers.

One thing I'm sure - not much will come of this. It's simply a power move by the PL to try and protect their governance and control from the governments plans

Something isn't right here, do people actually believe that if it is proved to be true that City would be the only club in England to be doing it. Why was it a Spanish newspaper that were the first to do a story on this article, more like sour grapes if you ask me.

At some point a club will be made an example of.
Just like Juve and Rangers.
