All seems very bizarre timing, regardless of the results, with us just coming back from an International break. If we're announcing Friday/Weekend for the Coventry game, it's a short window to look at the squad unless they're already at the training ground overlooking sessions.

I'm guessing that the prospective manager may have only become available in the last few days/week. Or was it said that Warnock new after the West Brom game? There's a lot of chaff on here to sift through.

Jake Edwards slipped during the interview and called Warnock Nigel... Are there any Nigel's? He was calling Nigel Pearson “Nigel” in reference to the story told about Derby.

Ask Neil Warnock if he could chose our next manager as he knows more than most There’s zero logic to this at all. Kevin Nagle owns the football club and he employs people like Jake Edwards to run the club. Why the hell would they let Warnock who’s effectively an interim manager choose the next gaffer? It’s Nagle and Edwards who have to back him, not Warnock. Warnocks experience is as a manager not running a football club.

How many companies ask an incumbent who their replacement should be?

Neil Warnock became the first Town manager to win his first home league game since Simon Grayson did it in 2012, but if we have a new manager in charge at Coventry and we win, who will be displaced as the most recent one to have won their first away league match? [Not counting interim managers, although what could ever match Gerry Murphy's win at Leeds?]

Hasn't it also been reported that it is a unknown foreign manager? British came from someone who's first ever post it was.

I said something similar earlier. Had a previous role as head of youth development at Walsall and fits in with what town have said about the academy. Fairly big name and comes with a good reputation to command respect of the players. Type of manager that would require money, which I assume he would have assurances over (hopefully).

There isn't any definite really is there right now? What does proven track record even mean today? Promotions? Over achieving?

I have been down in Kent today and the name mentioned was Neil Harris, personally i think he will wait for the Millwall job but he is doing great at Gillingham. A downgrade on Warnock Most people would be a downgrade on Warnock, but Harris would leave me seriously underwhelmed. Whoever comes in will have my support until they show themselves unworthy of it, but that would be a head-scratcher.

Smith has got a track record of both which is why I think it could be him. Going off trusted ITKs + Jake Edwards’ words, Smith makes sense.

Fans only couldn’t wait for him to be sacked because Norwich are used to bouncing back straight away, our expectations quite rightly should be lower than theirs. They finished the season 13th btw.

I'm probably in the minority of not giving it any real thought until the club announces it. Seen too many managers come and go to be overly excited about the process itself. As for someone ITK maybe posting say 24hrs ahead of the official announcement and then wetting themselves over subsequent 'told you so' follow ups when it turns out to be correct then it's too cringeworthy to be true from grown ups.

I predict it’ll be Dean Smith, former head of youth at Walsall and spells at championship/prem level. Didn’t do well at his last two clubs but did get villa up and kept them up. Play style was a bit of a snore fest. I hope not.. I find he comes across as a bit of a wet wipe and would prefer someone who comes across as having a bit more about him. My opinion only of course 👍
