Even Arteta has won some trophies. All Corberan has so far is the "we finished 3rd but didn't go up" trophy that he won last season. For someone who wants us to stop talking about him, you're always having a pop. Sick of reading about him.

If anyone's bored on their lunch break there's a Neil Warnock quiz on the BBC football page. I got 8/10. 9/10 for me. Just got the last one wrong. My "wrongs" were Paddy Kenny, and when he said the "one last job" thing.

yes that lazy sod who despite only being 5 yards away from the ball over the goal line, decided to believe his non-beeping watch instead.. chufing pillock Dress the muppet up as a clown and give him rambos mic for an apology to the fans. How the fuck can they appoint him for us again this season after that error. Agreed, that non decision could be critical. It wasn't just the loss of 1 point for Town, it was also a 3 point swing to Blackpool against Town.

Constant speculation and attacks on the club, Hoyle and everybody else as to why he left. I just don't think it does anybody any good and at times it's like watching people crying over an ex that's fucked them off. He's an ex manager, just like the other 40 managers we've had. And while I am indeed interested in the club's history, I just find the Corberan love-in all very weird, I always have done. Even David Wagner or Peter Jackson or Neil Warnock aren't held in such high-esteem as the untouchable Corberan, despite enjoying more success at Town and in their managerial careers than him.

Hope he brings back the sherry & eggs. A 15 game unbeaten run would go down quite nicely...

It is just plain and simple bad planning though, isn't it? And that's certainly not said with hindsight, as you've mentioned above, either. How many people said straight away that the Schofield appointment wouldn't work out? We pretty much all knew it, didn't we? It was too soon and it was a terrible plan following the success of 2022. That isn't hindsight, it was more logic than anything. Logic that was proved to be correct. Then Fotheringham. Again, the immediate consensus was that it was another terrible appointment at a time when we could ill afford one. Of course Dean didn't plan for it to go this way, but it's how it's ended up due to the clubs terrible plan of going cheap as chips. Again, by applying basic logic you can tell exactly how that approach will eventually work out, and here we are! Our last 6 permanent managers were all pretty much unknowns. Either never done it before or stepping up from lower league in the Cowley's instance. Wagner Siewert Cowley Corberan Schofield Fotheringham The key is picking good ones - I don't think "cheap as chips" as you put it is necessarily doomed to failure - we've just been shit at picking them lately. Out of those, which would you have picked based one their previous CV? (Without hindsight of their actual performance?) Mine would have probably been Cowley and corboran. Not sure if Wagner would have been... And if Wagner would have been then siewert probably justifies the same. Scofield and Fotheringham wouldn't have got near the team though.

It’s fairly recent and due to the complete nonsense that’s happened since his departure I’m unsurprised people are bitter regardless of who’s fault it is. Almost as bitter as you seemed harping on about an interim manager who never wanted the job losing a game the other night. We all have our views. Maybe go set up your own board if you want to control what people talk about?

Getting back to Warnock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a bold move and not without some jeopardy but there are 3 guarantees which will warm the hearts of all supporters:-
1. The workshy bunch that took the field on sat wont be doing it again. Whatever we lack in quality we wont lack in effort and desire - a start!
2. There wont be any more ongoing spats on the field. Bollockings now and again yes but Hogg was a disgrace on sat shouting and bawling at all and sundry more or less all game and then making plenty of errors himself. Hes been a legend here but not immune from criticism where its appropriate.
3. He gets this club - he knows that if he /his staff and players unite and deliver somewhere near their best we will be okay and they will get terrific backing. He wouldnt have come otherwise and will go flat out to finish his career on a high.
Its a really tough job - sat was beyond abysmal and games are running out but he's done it many times before. Going to be a roller coaster ride i suspect but we live in hope!

DATM hindsight again! problem with that is he was clearly going to leave anyway. The few hundred grand weve probably wasted on Schofield and Fotheringham this season wouldn't have persuaded a manager who was obviously keen to 'cash in' on his high stock and move on to say no, Ill stay at this club. A few hundred grand, you missed the bit where it was going to be 7 figures to get shut of Buzz Who said that? The same people convinced Schofield was coming back from Hibs to be our number 1 and that Pelach was going to be our boss until the end of the season?

Arent you confusing not having a plan with having a plan but it not being a success? Just because something hasnt worked, doesnt mean it wasnt a clear plan or there was a lack of thought behind it!! When do you imagine football became this thing that if you plan something and think about it enough, it is then guaranteed to work?? We have a budget and like any club ,or business in general, you make plans within the restrictions of that budget, even if some fans constantly demand more money being put in. If the plans fail, you do what you can , perhaps outside that budget if thats possible, to try and rectify it. And yeah it is a waste of money... making mistakes in business generally is. It is just plain and simple bad planning though, isn't it? And that's certainly not said with hindsight, as you've mentioned above, either. You can not like the plan..people can be against it from day 1 based on nothing more than gut feeling and be proved right in the end... but that doesnt mean they didnt have a plan. Ive no idea what Danny Schofield is like as a coach but he'd obviously impressed those that do know him and have worked with him.. and he became the plan.

That's right, our other 'custodian' that pissed away hundreds of millions, mainly on complete duds that we couldn't give away in the end. What we see now is a culmination of shit decisions by Hoyle. Is this what he meant by leaving a 'premier league legacy?' League 1 but with £50m of debt?

If the plans fail, you do what you can , perhaps outside that budget if thats possible, to try and rectify it. And yeah it is a waste of money... making mistakes in business generally is. I fundamentally agree but would, respectfully, offer this in response: Those in charge have had a considerable experience in working in football yet the "plan" seemed to be - "this is the budget, work to that". Surely the approach should be this: "This is our aspiration for the coming season (ideally a longer 3-5 year strategy would be ideal). What do we need to achieve that aspiration, and, to what extent are we able to afford a budget to achieve that aspiration. In short an aligned joined up plan enables people to work together to achieve. There is more than enough evidence to suggest anything we have in the way of a plan has been entirely tactical. To be fair you have to assume that before Wembley May 22 there were two scenarios, promotion or not. If the plan for not was simply a cut in budget it wasn't surprising that CC walked. Now, and before you tell me we can only afford what we can afford (which is fine), surely some detailed consideration about was required to support recruitment etc... What has resulted is a series of desperate changes which must have significantly increased the original budget. You also need to factor the rumours that the club may have been sold around 12 months ago. Looking now surely selling the club, or agreeing to sell, the club then would have been the best choice. What happened, or appears to have happened (to be entirely fair), is a decision to wait and see (if we got promotion). Had we a wider plan a sale could have been factored in. What has happened subsequently is a series of reactive decisions. On the face of it, it is all about money, or the amount of money available. For me it has never has been the amount, it is using that available as well as possible. I think had I understood the bigger picture and direction of the club I could have more easily accepted the results we have seen on the pitch. I think in that context the criticism is reasonable. We are where we are but we must learn, as a club, and do better in the future. Short term we need the points to retain Championship status. In the background I hope all parties have plans ready that will reflect the situation(s) we may find ourselves in. It is possible that if we are relegated DH will be left owning a club that he has to have a plan for that eventuality. The 'plan' as it has been since Wagner walked away,,, is to find the next Wagner. The only break in that was when we appointed Cowley, but even there he was a young manager making a step up from the lower reaches of the pyramid. Id agree that we need to revise that plan as whilst we showed with Corboran it can ( nearly ) work again if you resist the temptation to sack him first when he'd doing terribly ..its proving to be moire likely you end up making a mistake. As for budgets between last season and this season and how that might have influenced Corboran to leave.. the simple truth is our income dropped by about 75% this season ( because of the end of parachute payments)...Im not sure what people expect the club to do when coping with that other than what they did do, which was to drastically cut our budget to reflect it. Anyone thinking we didnt have to do that is living in cloud cuckoo land IMO. If Corboran wasnt prepared to continue here, then thats a shame but screw him.

How much have we now spent on myriad managers and assistants since? Add to that the cost of possibly getting relegated. We should have struck whilst the iron was hot with one of the best young managers in the league. This league isn’t all that and we could have had another push at getting to the greedy league and then all debts could be paid. That we didn’t was a massive error in my opinion. We didn’t have to do it Ad Infinitum but surely another season at least? And to make matters worse we let him go for free! If money is that tight then another diabolical decision. Am not gonna aim abuse at Hoyle here, we have had a great time and great ticket prices under his watch but it’s all gone a bit Pete Tong now. Let’s hope we stay up under Warnock, then get decent owners (who won’t push prices up too much) and kick on.
