“ Yeah well he kept us up with 3 games to go but it was all long ball football…” 🙈

Looking at his stint at Rotherham in 2016. Took over 2nd week in February with 16 games to go and three points adrift. W6, D6, L4 finished nine points clear. That would do. The biggest downer is that we're more than halfway through our easiest run of games for the rest of the season. It's the right appointment at more-or-less the right time, but we certainly could have done with him two weeks ago.

To be honest we could do with just rerunning the last minute at Hull and the last 2 or 3 minutes at Blackpool. 4 points extra does not sound a lot but currently its huge..

If he’d not managed since his first spell with us I’d agree… but he’s had successful spells at Sheffield United, QPR, Cardiff, Rotherham etc since. I think he’s smart enough to have adapted over the years. yes indeed, but i'm sure he'll be putting a squib up some players rectums...metaphorically speaking of course.. He will when he watches a re run of the Wigan game

Assume Rocket Ronnie will be at Stoke? Never understood that nickname, he was never very rocket like. Meant to be ironic I think He didn’t need pace anyway!

Other than Jacko, have never seen a Town player foul, tug shirts, stand on toes etc at a corner or free kick than Ronnie. He 'compensated' for lack of pace very well.☠ Always had the ref in his pocket too!

Colins first job.. Work smarter. We do cover the miles in games but its mostly doing the wrong things in the wrong places. Midfielders covering 7 or more kms in a game without touching the ball near the opponents goal means something is going badly awry.. Running back 30 plus yards, then running 30 plus yards to try and support a forward move, ? Short closing down sprints??? Short drop offs and then moving onto the oncoming opposition.. Defending isnt just being closer to your own goal asap..

If he keeps us in the Championship the man will go beyong H.T.A.F.C legend, he will acheive messiah status. I wonder if he still uses this kind of half time pep talk.................

Great to see Neil and rocket Ronnie back at the helm. But is it too little too late. Our fixtures in March are horrendous to say the least. If anyone can keep us up it Colin. But my fear it this appointment maybe a month too late.

Who's the oldest manager we've ever had hthp ? Permanently, Stan Ternent was 62 when he took charge of his final match, against Crewe Alexandra in November 2008. However, including caretaker managers, Gerry Murphy was 65 when he took charge as caretaker manager in November to December 2008.

Classic post from Twitter 🤣🤣:
28 years since #HTAFC sang Neil Warnock’s Barmy Army! In the interim we’ve played in all 4 divisions, spent 100s of millions on players, gone bust, beaten Man Utd, lost to Accrington Stanley, changed manager 31 times, won bugger all & Boothy is still the best striker at the club

But my fear it this appointment maybe a month too late. I don't get this talk of winnable games are now gone etc. We've seen so much dross take points from us this season from both ends of the table. It's been extremely poor in terms of quality. I've possibly forgotten someone else but, I can only really think of Burnley at the start of the season that genuinely looked a cut above us where, apart from ten exciting minutes when Tino came on, we were never really in it. Most other games I've been sat there thinking 'this was totally winnable if we hadn't have been so sh8t!' Sheff United away was bloody awful and we nearly snatched a point. They're 10 points clear of 3rd with a game in hand! With a bit of organisation maybe we can be the sh*t team that leaves with the points for a change.

By my reckoning weve had 19 permanent managers since Warnock!

Nobody in a town shirt thought we were going to lose at wigan. That belief seemed to get stronger as the game went on. It led to nothing changing rather than more confidence in going to win the game. I believe that is our problem. Doing what we believe is just enough to get the result.

Never a dull moment following this club....well not many anyway. Have to say I think its a good short term appointment. I honestly think our biggest issue at the moment is in the players heads. They've lost their belief and confidence in themselves . Started off that way this season as a hangover from Wembley and through managerial changes and injury issues and lousy results its never really resolved itself. If anyone can come in and galvanise a squad and sort them out mentality then its probably Warnock. Welcome back Col. 100% on this - listen to Matty Pearson post game, I'm assuming he's one of the most mentally strong in the squad...and he's utterly broken
