I think we may be talking 50 although without studying who still has to play who it’s hard to predict. I don’t think our fixtures are as bad as folk are making out, Rotherham beat Sunderland on Tuesday and beat Blackburn 4-0! I think we can give anyone a game with Warnock in charge especially at home, (which most of our toughest fixtures are).

I think 50 points would just do it.Any less and be touch and go. Had a look through fixtures and I can see us possibly getting to 48(4 wins and 5 draws) Not sure if that would be enough tbh. That is exactly what I came up with. 4 wins and 5 draws (being very optimistic) but I think it will be just short of the 49 pts required. It only dawned on me yesterday that, of our remaining 14 fixtures, 11 are against the current top 12. Don’t think even NW will be able to keep us up - I’d give us no better than a 15% chance of staying up but that was below 10% after Stoke. I think some of the “top 11” stuff may be irrelevant as Swansea dropping like a stoke and likely will be playing for nothing. Sunderland by the time we play them maybe out of the playoff race etc.Reading last game maybe nothing in it for them also. Also have to factor in are teams off the back of two away games or two tough games etc. A lot for us may depend on home form and also a bit of luck injury wise.I see a world where we could win 5 and draw 4 or even 6 and 3 but going off that we have only won 8 so far this season and looking at the games I think a reasonable prediction would be 4 wins 5 draws. In the short term anything against Burnley is a bonus,Coventry is a big game but more at this moment not lose rather than must win…Bristol the game in hand in huge. That’s a must win for me. If we could beat Cov and Bristol then who knows we may just do it.

I think we will get 1 point off Coventry and Bristol at home so will be difficult to get anywhere near 50 afterthat

Surprised he hasn’t fired off another post to say he meant “after that” at the end of his post. It’s what he usually does, he still hasn’t learned how to edit his own posts. Strange man.

13 games left. We need to win 6.
When the season is over somebody needs to get a hold of this football club and start running it properly.
It’s been an absolute joke the last 5 seasons.

Next two games.
6 points...fantastic
4 points...acceptable
3 points...not great but not a disaster
2, 1, or 0 points...extremely disappointing

Home wins are now vital to bridge the gap.

On the face of it you're right, but as you'll be aware football as an habit of throwing up unexpected results, soon be that time of the season when results to confound everyone occur.

Yeah....i do get that but we have to get to touching distance asap imho. Other teams will then panic....warnock wont - he is too wily and our fans will then back the players big time. Youd still back against us......but that can and hopefully will change after the next fortnight.

The 3 demoted teams is going to the wire, I think 4 teams will battle it out on the last game of the season.
If nothing else it will be our cup final against Reading packed to the rafters with full throttle emotion.
I have set my heart on it in a strange way, we stop up, or go down fighting.

Yeah but...do we want this to go right to the last game? No thanks, I want this sewn up before then, in fact before we play at Cardiff . So that's 19 points in 12 games, please...God... To be honest if we go into the last game still having a chance to stay up I'd take that right now. Our fixtures are awful.

Burnley only needed 30 minutes to destroy us... there's no evidence we can beat the better teams but we can't just keep on forfeiting games on the assumption well win the last 2 and stay up... Besides,my nerves are already shredded...

If “sir” Neil as I’m now calling him, reckons 48 points taking 4 points from the next two could be two big results.Would leave 4 wins and a draw from 11 games which for me would seem much more doable than 5 wins and 2 draws.I know that sounds absolutely ridiculous, probably because it is but just how I see it.

Looks like our best run over 12 games this season was 15 points, which, if we match, would leave us on 46 which could be (could be) enough....... That run, FYI, included : Boro Millwall Sunderland Blackburn QPR Swansea Blades Watford Preston Rotherham Luton Hull Of above, we are still to play Boro, Millwall, Sunderland, Blackburn, Watford, Swansea, Blades (all these came on our best run so far.....) Not to play are QPR, Preston, Rotherham, Luton, Hull replaced with: Bristol - currently below three of the above teams West Brom - currently below only Luton Norwich - currently below only Luton Cardiff - currently below all the other teams we played Reading - currently below three of the above teams If we go one better than our best run over 12 - which with Warnock you would hope / expect - then, surely there is something to believe in still!? Ask me again at 9.30 tonight.....

I’m going tonight, in the hope of 3 points and a positive outcome.
But it’s also about reality. I don’t gamble, but I’d imagine the bookies have us at long odds on for relegation. They rarely get these things wrong, especially when they’re creating those odds over a 46 game season, and also when we’re 12 games out from completing those.
If you took a look at the table around this time from last season, it’s the 3 teams relegated that occupied those spots from several weeks out. The same pattern has emerged this season.
The big problem for me is the number of favours we now need in other games. When you’re chasing half a dozen teams and you’re within touching distance, you only need a couple of results to go for you. The permutations we’ll require are multiple games going the right way.
We’re not doomed here mathematically, but historically it ain’t looking good. To gain half of our current points gained (from 34 games), in around a third of that number of games is going to defy the odds.
It will truly be an epic turnaround if we pull this one out of the bag… 🤞
