Yeah, as 2 people I know are going for that reason. I told them how pathetic that was and their replies ' after what he did for us and the mess we are in now, he deserves a rousing reception' One also went onto say that 'by giving Wagner a huge cheer, it will show the board what we should have got back'. I am sure plenty will be of that mindset. Just about sums up how pathetic our fanbase is. We should be desperate to beat Wagner and get one over on him, not stood there wanking him off to get back at the board. Anyone near me singing his name will be getting told to shut the fuck up. There'll no doubt be some at tonight's game who get all misty eyed and nostalgic 😂

I find it ridiculous that there'll be some people there tonight wanting Wagner to beat us just so they can say "I told you so" to the board.

I'm asking myself, what's the point in making the effort to go?

I can't see any kind of performance tonight with the uncertainty surrounding the club, future of the players, staff etc.
It seems when we thought things couldn't get any worse and warnock was the turning point, they have totally imploded.
So.... im going for a sorry performance and a 6-1 defeat, allowing the inevitable to become the reality and administration announced in due course.

Do you really think that? I don’t think there will be many or any in the stands with that mindset. Might give him the cursory clap at the start of the game, but that’s all it will amount to. Might be a few hangers on upstairs will want to say hello, but that’s probably as an old work colleague. He’s not visiting as a corporate guest, he’s on the opposing team bus. With all due respect, I just think assertions like that are a bit naff. These are the fans that had a minutes' applause for Arsene Wenger and sang "There's only one Arsene Wenger" in 2018. These are the fans that clapped off Harry Kane in 2017, when he wasn't even the best player on the pitch. And you think they won't clap or give a good reception to one of the club's best ever managers? Jeez that was a low point, thoroughly embarrassing and probably unprecedented in any league, fans had been listening to the small dog bollocks for way too long. I thought at the time it must have been the PL glory supporters but there were plenty on here admitting to it. Cringe. Up there with half and half scarves when it comes to tinpot. Like you say he didn't even play that well and was being a dirty bstard throughout, deserved booing. FWIW Wagner would have got a great reception from me before the whistle (and after if we'd won) but not in the situation we're in, I've no appetite for nostalgia or wondering what might have been atm. Remembering 2017 just makes it more depressing.

Forgot tonight is the game we are wearing the yellow & red Yorkshire air ambulance kit.
Great cause and if we win let’s wear it rest of the season! 🤣👍🏻

Funny how most of the embarrassing stuff I've witnessed down at Town either happened in 2017 or after. "One Arsene Wenger" and the minutes' applause was ridiculous and quite rightly drowned out by chants of "David Wagner's Barmy Army".

With Norwich missing a hat full of chances and somehow we keep a clean sheet.

Great cause and if we win let’s wear it rest of the season! 🤣👍🏻 One of the things that annoys me is sacrificing the blue and white stripes. We're at home. We should be wearing our home shirt, especially now. Great cause. Great idea in good times. But right now the club needs to do things to keep fans onside and not gimmicks. I want to see a team give its all in blue and white stripes. Not yellow. Because that isn't Huddersfield Town.

I’m supporting the club , the team , not the people who have caused this situation to occur. It has gone way beyond the reasons you name. Doesn't matter how loyal someone is, at some point other things become more appealing. The club are lucky the fans have put up with it for so long. Luckily for them, last season hugely papered over some very worrying cracks. Any fan using their head tonight knows that the likely outcome will be a 3 or 4 nil loss and barely any form of entertainment. The weather will be baltic, atmosphere like a morgue and people leaving from 70 minutes onwards. I really do understand that the players need us. But the more we turn up, the more those at the top think it isn't that bad.

But having lived a life of never going on holiday in the football season - no weekend breaks if it means missing a game etc … Bewilderingly to my family, I have always put Town above all else. I don’t feel like I’ll be able to contribute to a discussion about the game if I’m not actually there to witness it. I’m sure I’ll probably be miserable as hell when I get home and immediately delete the EFL highlights show ( like I have all season) but I’m not going to change now.

Almost tempted as I'm unlikely to see Wagner in the flesh at a match again but then I have to weigh up the petrol cost and time I could be spending doing other stuff...
Edit - common sense prevailed and stayed at home. Had something on FB marketplace someone wanted to collect anyway.

Given Wagner has already been to the JSS this season where he did the h/t draw and got a great reception, be surprised if the same thing happened tonight. Rambo (hopefully) won’t be making a big deal out of it by announcing pre ko the opposition as being “David Wagner’s Norwich City” so I see no reason why the SS or the corner of the main stand would make a big deal if it by chanting his name. He’ll always be a hero to Town fans but we all move on.

You know he'll make a big thing of it, it's part of his schtick.

Those getting their knickers in a twist about DW.
I said he’ll get a cursory muted applause BEFORE the game, then it’ll be done with. Isn’t that what we do with most people who’ve had success at our club in the past?
Likening it to the Harry Kane thing is a bit daft really. Can’t say that there will be many of those tourist supporters left now anyway.
That does remind me of someone I worked with who lived in Bradford. Her husband was considering buying a Town ST in the PL, just so that he could get to watch Liverpool live. Apparently he didn’t stand much of a chance of getting a ticket at Andield, but was prepared to pay the best part of £300 to watch them on an away ground. Not even sure he’d have used that ST for the other games either. More money than bloody sense…
