It took me longer than it really should have to realise the "massive supporter group already forming in Tampa FL" was a tongue in cheek reference to his friends and family Yeh didn’t pick that up Tbf 😂 I only did when he mentioned living in Florida., later.

Not that I'm planning to , but if you dropped a spider from the top of Emley mast , would it survive ? It'd probably have better odds than your growler in a flask surviving the same journey... Anyway, which mast??? The safest one to climb 🙂

You do wonder what tangible benefits that could bring, yes its nice to have new fans overseas but in the grand scheme of things you wonder how it will affect the club. A few extra shirt sales and maybe some additional iFollow subscriptions and possibly more sponsorship money I guess but I don't see how it would be enough to make a real difference. If there is a plan to attract additional investment in the coming years, raising our general profile over there seems a sensible idea. Good point, keep seeing stories about random American sports stars with more brass than sense wanting to invest in L**ds. Really hoping they have big plans for the stadium and surrounding area, could be a very nice income stream and maybe even make it worthwhile visiting Huddersfield, really is a total shithole these days, cant think of a single reason to go near the town centre or surrounding area.

What would people think is a good way to use the space down around the ground? HD1 seemed pretty uninspired to me. Looked like an outdoor shopping mall and we all know how well they're doing.

Disneyland Huddersfield? Ride the tin bath down Kilner bank. Better than most of the council's plans 🤣 That is the Council's plan. I've seen the blueprint!!

Physical shopping is dead.... Something along the lines of escape would probably be the best use of the area, but if you were going to do that, would you actually use that site? You would probably have to be given it very cheap to convince a developer.

I quite like the woodland path walkway that starts at the end of Stadium way and brings you out by the riverside. Be nice if this could somehow be extended further along the river and made even nicer. Driving range has been taken over by nature and now resembles a wild meadow. Serves no purpose to humans and won't be any profit in it but I reckon the animals and insects are making good use of it. Reckon it'll end up being another retail park though.

Pipe dream but that land would make an excellent Town fan pub site, museum base, and maybe a Town themed eaterie. No dogs on the menu though.

Nail on the head I reckon. Add an arcade, couple good eateries and a casino and you'd be laughing 😉

We're they in the centre or a mile out with nothing else there except a stadium that's only used about 50 times a year?

Barnsley have done a good job in transforming their town centre, years back it was as bad if not worse than town. Seem to have focussed quite a bit on hospitality, with some good new pubs, bars and eateries. Not that long ago you couldn't get a decent pint of proper beer there but now there's quite a bit of choice. The one big downside is it's full of people from Barnsley.

Dotted around what you would say is the centre but there is nothing like this in town I know it's not quite as far but hotshots was generally busy until they closed the bowling and let it run down. The cinema is down there n people travel there walking from town it's not like the stadium is in Marsden. Could get the cable cars we thought we were getting 😜

Got to say Barnsley town centre beats Huddersfield hands down now, despite being quite a bit smaller. I live pretty much midway between the two and choose to go into Barnsley every time. The Glassworks development has transformed the town centre, some top bars (Salt house is a belter) and decent shops & entertainment venues there now with a nice outdoor square.
Still plenty of scruffy deadbeats knocking around, but you can say the same for pretty much every town these days. Kirklees council should take a leaf out of their book, but they really are useless.

Any large town centre is much the same I’d expect. It’s a hell of a lot of retail space to fill in an age of e-commerce.
I was in Chester the other week, a lovely city, but even they have many shop units boarded up.
The only places that seem to cope/thrive nowadays, are either the small or well heeled niche places, or big cities. The masses of retail space in between seem destined to dwindle even further.

I don't really get this... Sacramento is broadly comparable to Huddersfield, and they don't get 10,000 to watch their own games (with average attendance (8337) DOWN on average so far this season compared to last) - if they're not really that into their own local team what on earth would get them excited en masse about Huddersfield Town?! He didn’t say was specifically sacramento he said across the US.mentioned Florida as one area. ...his family!

Made up shite DH is still working hard for the clubs benefit and if you listened to NW he did say the guy had no reason too chase him up since he will not be the owner much longer.
