It’s fair to say that these blokes didn’t become billionaires by paying over the odds for the likes of Martyn Waghorn.
I love Town, but I’m genuinely bemused by what we have to offer.

I am still confused as to why a couple of American actors bought a Welsh non league club so an American buying Town in the 2nd tier (for now) isn't crazy.

My biggest regret is that Butch Schlong, Snatch Friggit and Yank Lovebone no longer broadcast the American Sports Network on W.A.N.K. Cincinnati that R1 used to syndicate on weekday afternoons.
They’d have explained everything well.

As far as I can work out after watching the series it’s mainly because they watched ‘Sunderland Til I Die’ and were completely charmed by the emotion of English football. Wrexham we’re the ‘biggest’ club they could afford. Crazy but looks pretty accurate as far as I can see.

If it was presented in a documentary style instead of like reality TV, I might have watched more.

If you forget that it’s Town for a minute. They are buying a debt free club that was one game away from the Premier League last season. If they get it right they could get there within two or three years, probably longer if we get relegated. We’ve got a decent sized fanbase, good training facilities and a stadium probably going at a cheap rate. I’m not saying any of that will happen, but that must surely be their initial intention.

it was the former padres owner John Jay Moores I just thought " rickett" was a nod to the Ricketts family who own the Chicago cubs.

Fair point on the stadium…if they factor that in and manage it well it could be a decent money spinner for gigs etc

Wonder why they have been ambiguous saying ‘North American’ and not saying US, Canadian or Mexico etc? Unless it’s a consortium spread across the continent? Bit weird

Don't know whether your comment was tongue in cheek or not but they have made so much money from one season on netflix that they could buy half the clubs in the national league, plough money in and still make a profit. All they had to do is take a few flights over to get b roll and watch a few games with some zoom calls and studio time sprinkled in. Fucking genius really.

They’d have explained everything well. Think it has been quoted either on this thread or another but there was a football finance 'expert' on radio Leeds last night and anongst other things he talked about the strength of the dollar meaning at the moment they are getting more for their money and the fact that they see the income /marketing opportunity as they see that english sports clubs do not in anyway maximise their potential income streams- and you can see that! The big thing he said though was around chamionship clubs having a 1 in 8 chance of Premier League promotion and he likened it to buying a lottery ticket with the prize being £180m!! Not that simple I know but that is what he said!

Bit weird I think it's so that DATM can have its much needed geography lesson. It is just a reference, I think people are being far too literal. Or maybe it's 4 Americans and 2 Canadians and thats why they said it, but I doubt it. These terms get thrown around very loosely and reporters are just as guilty of doing that as anyone else. I highly doubt it was written that way to be precise its much more likely it was just a term used loosely regardless of who these people are.

Jesse March new gaffer and Duane Holmes as captain. Won't it be a conflict of interest given Duane Holmes will be part owner with John Thorrington? (he's also going to spend time in a new exec role of vice president of fishing)
