Jesse March new gaffer and Duane Holmes as captain. Won't it be a conflict of interest given Duane Holmes will be part owner with John Thorrington? (he's also going to spend time in a new exec role of vice president of fishing) There’s a Leigh Bromby ex-players joke in here somewhere. |

Think it has been quoted either on this thread or another but there was a football finance 'expert' on radio Leeds last night and anongst other things he talked about the strength of the dollar meaning at the moment they are getting more for their money and the fact that they see the income /marketing opportunity as they see that english sports clubs do not in anyway maximise their potential income streams- and you can see that! The big thing he said though was around chamionship clubs having a 1 in 8 chance of Premier League promotion and he likened it to buying a lottery ticket with the prize being £180m!! Not that simple I know but that is what he said! so how much did they pay for the shares at Town ? No idea mate, sorry! |

I am still confused as to why a couple of American actors bought a Welsh non league club so an American buying Town in the 2nd tier (for now) isn't crazy. Don't know whether your comment was tongue in cheek or not but they have made so much money from one season on netflix that they could buy half the clubs in the national league, plough money in and still make a profit. All they had to do is take a few flights over to get b roll and watch a few games with some zoom calls and studio time sprinkled in. Fucking genius really. If that’s their motivation, then yes it is genius. A football club becoming a plaything, who’d have thought that eh… 😉 No doubt their current stardom in the US and beyond is a contributory factor. |

Don't know whether your comment was tongue in cheek or not but they have made so much money from one season on netflix that they could buy half the clubs in the national league, plough money in and still make a profit. All they had to do is take a few flights over to get b roll and watch a few games with some zoom calls and studio time sprinkled in. Fucking genius really. Meh. Fuck Netflix and reality TV. My opinion. I want an owner in the club to make it financially stable and with a clear plan for the future then stay out of sight and not make it all about themselves. Sure Ryan Reynolds is more likeable than that Massimo guy Leeds had but still owners shouldn't be the main focus of a club. |

Was listening to Matt Glennon last night who said within 10 minutes of listening to him knew he was “thick”. He said he was a bit of a joke in training and that they all basically laughed at him. It’s the sort of decision that makes you suspect something not quite right goes on at Town. |

Having read much of the comment on here re the takeover I still wonder at the motivation of our new owners.
The hope of course is they see us as a route to the Prem but on a low cost basis. Having invested minimally to purchase if Dean has written off his debt will they take the view that they can invest in the team to get us to the money league?
It would seem strange for them to get involved with a championship /league one club just to keep us there.
Be interesting to hear their stated aims.
