The 2 week break will have given the lads some rest so they will be fresh for Sundays game..also its 2 more weeks for Neil to work on the lads With Cardiff playing Rotherham this week and having no rest like us,,I see nothing but a strong Town win on Sunday...we should be physically and mentally stronger for this one need to be at them from minute 1 to minute 96.

I predict a bruising encounter Rotherham v Cardiff with a good bit of animosity due to the abandoned match. So plenty of yellow cards and maybe a couple of red cards. Then a massive punch up at the end.

Then a massive punch up at the end. A punch up early doors, then lots of retribution during the game and another set too right at the end. Cardiff to lose 1-0 to a highly contentious late goal and the lad scoring for them of late losing his head completely and being the second cardiff red card leading to the after match punch up? We live in hope😉

Think it’s clear we want a Cardiff win but not sure it’ll be as simple as that . Rotherham surprised me this season with a much stronger set of results than their usual yoyo form .
Agree it’ll be bruising - think there’ll be some feisty challenges and weather looks set to be wet (can the groundsmen work their magic again???).
Heart says 2-0 Cardiff (Sory Kaba double) , head says score draw

Let’s hope Cardiff pick up a load of injuries. All about keepers. Ryan Allsop Cardiff No 1 out for the season. King Lee Nicholls playing for B Team and could be available.

Let’s hope Cardiff pick up a load of injuries. Or suspensions. Honestly, I think them having some part of their side as "makeshift" when we play them would probably serve us better than any result on the day.

I know it may make Sunday's game seem harder, but I think a Rotherham win tonight might be the best result overall.
Cardiff have Burnley away on the last day of the season and, although Burnley have gone off the boil recently, I suspect they'll want to end the season on a high. So I'm expecting a Burnley win and if Rotherham also beat them, then Cardiff will be under massive pressure on Sunday lunchtime.
As long as we don't let Cardiff score early and settle - ideally we take the lead and get the crowd even more nervous as well - then the game could be setup for us to score on the break.

Definitely a draw for me. I know that puts both of them 3 points above us and a better GD, but I’d still rather have more permutations to play with than less.
Regardless of the result tonight, Cardiff are not going to relax on Sunday.
What will be will be though, we just need to be up and at ‘em on Sunday, irrespective of the next 72h.

One day I want Rotherham to win, the next day Cardiff, the day after a draw. So essentially I’m not sure what result I want really!

I am concentrating on us and trying to forget about others, a win on Sunday followed by a win in mid-week against the promoted Sheff Utd will do.

A draw is the worst result, it puts two teams out of reach by a win and a draw. If Cardiff win they will be 6 points ahead of Reading with a +6 GD, that is one hell of a job to overturn and by Sunday they could already be safe. Depends at that point whether we'd rather play a team fighting tooth-and-nail for points - but potentially nervous, or one totally relaxed and playing with freedom.

It’s mainly that I don’t subscribe to the on the beach scenario. I know we were the beneficiary when we played Man C, but I think in general footballers go out to win games, even if they’re a dead rubber to them. As others have said, it’s in our hands, and will still be in our hands regardless of the weekend results and a loss to Cardiff.

That was against mid-table Swansea. Sometimes teams are "on the beach" at this time of the season. Sometimes the sides with nothing to play for are at their best because they no longer play with fear. Neither ourselves nor Forest were "on the beach" at Wembley, but both sides were dreadful on the day. Expect 3 tough games. If any of them are not tough (whether because our opponents on the day are "on the beach" or crippled with nerves), great. Just do a professional job on them.

The permutations are doing my head in. Can someone just tell me who i want to win tonight? Rotherham. Then we beat Cardiff on Sunday. Should we fail to get anything against Sheff Utd (highly possible) then a loss to Reading final game still gives us a realistic chance of survival with Cardiff away at Burnley.

There are some very good points made in this thread for both a Cardiff and a Rotherham Win - I’m like boooothy and softboy in that I’ve torn ma hair (or what little I’ve left of it ) in one direction then the other and back again and then I’ve stopped before I’ve none left...
What will be will be of course - but if the proverbial gun gets pointed to the old head then maybe a Cardiff Win which will all but make them safe and perhaps still in party mode on Sunday -
Ach Hell - I’ve no idea really but like us all I await to see what unfolds this evening with nervous energy...
Bloody Football - What it does to millions of Lads and Lassies the whole world over Eh !!! 😊

I think you may have run out of options 🙂 How about a late downpour, and the Rotherham groundsman putting the sprinklers on again? Game abandoned on 85mins with Cardiff picking up a few injuries to key players...

Rotherham have Boro and Wigan after. Cardiff have us and Burnley.
Personally, l think both and ourselves will be fine.
Cardiff win tonight, Town win either sunday or v Sheff Utd and Rotherham to get a win V Wigan.
Sounds easy doesn't it?
