Maybe merge with the Millers vs Bluebirds thread? perhaps. I just saw the score and looked at the table after originally hoping for a draw, and suddenly realised that a Cardiff win was better and then got carried away and created a thread in a moment of madness!! Lol

Cardiff acting like they are safe. To be fair, they are as good as safe given goal difference and fixtures.
It will be difficult on Sunday but their fans won’t be as up for it. The atmosphere will be very different to how it could have been.

Justice done after the last game called off. Let’s hope Hawkeye denies Cardiff a last gasp equaliser on Sunday then… 😉

I really don’t subscribe to this theory of Cardiff being more chilled on Sunday.
At least Sky have managed to get rid of Toffolo in their advert… 😂

Full Time = Rotherham United 1 v Cardiff City 2...
Cardiff are pretty much all but safe now -
Sunday is a lot more interesting now for sure...
Come on ye Bluebirds (not in the football obviously) but get yer selves onto Cardiff Bay !!! 😊

Let's be honest, nobody really knows how that result tonight is gonna affect how Cardiff play against Town.
They could try and play a more ambitious, expressive game and overwhelm us. They could only play at 90% because they know they have nothing to play for and Town win 2-0. It's anybody's guess and we won't have an answer until about 2pm on Sunday.
Nor will we know exactly what is at stake for us until 5pm on Saturday after Blackpool (Friday night v Millwall) and Reading have both played.

settle for that...was a scrappy game, lots of 1st time hoofs but 2nd goal well taken.
desperate Millwall to win at Blackpool tomorrow, sends Blackpool down unless they can recover a 6 goal defecit with Town..and win at Norwich,,and Town lose all 3 games..

I never take much notice of all this 'on the beach'...'they'll take their foot off the pedal' nonesense, it might be what we want to happen but it dosnt always, if we fail from here on its our own fault and our own fault only.

However, if Cardiff aren’t mathematically safe on Sunday, they’ll want to finish the job. Arguably they’ll only need a point if that’s the case.
I’m still in the we’ll be OK camp, but I think it might end up being a rip roaring evening on May 4th, not this Sunday.

Draw to Cardiff and beat Reading and that's all we have to do!

IF we beat Cardiff, Rotherham will suddenly be very worried for the first time this season. Their next game is Middlesbrough on Monday.....however if Wigan beat Reading and Blackpool fail to beat Millwall tomorrow, due to goal difference they'd basically be safe at 5pm on Saturday (as they'd be at least 3 points ahead of the bottom 3, with a far better goal difference, and the bottom 3 with only 1 game left)

Lets hope they think they are safe and that they party hard.
The fact that they had to keep going to try find a winner/defend will hopefully be good for us.

Cardiff be safe before Sunday if Reading dont beat Wigan? Wigan canny catch them neither can Blackpool - Reading can but Cardiff would need to lose to us (here’s hoping) and Burnley and Reading would need to beat Wigan (that hopefully won’t be easy) and also us (God willing not) and it’d need to be a seven goal swing to make it happen... I’d be delighted if Town were where Cardiff are tonight !

Think what everyone can agree on is we don’t want a Reading win on Saturday. no but a Wigan win also means they can finish above both us and Reading depending on other results. A draw might be best. Or better yet we can just beat Cardiff and Sheff Utd and save the worry!!

Given their goal difference Cardiff are now pretty much safe and could be mathematically save by the time they play us. Not sure whether that helps us or not.

Read the posts on DATM everyday but usually can't be arsed to get involved. Not a profilic poster. Watched Town since 1975,season ticket holder, but I'd agree for a Cardiff win was the best result for us tonight, In our own hands and we always had to win games with 3 left to get points from. Dreading a final day Curtis Woodhouse moment. I can't sleep right now,it's taken over me. Renewed already and will do forever. UTT.

Had a wee look at The BBC report on Rotherham v Cardiff and specifically the comments pages - And if it was the choice of The Cardiff fans then Rotherham would be down the day before tomorrow for ’sprinklergste’ for sure !
I just wonder (and actually hope) that the players are off the same mindset and ‘fatigued’ v Town and know that if we win Rotherham would really be in the doo doo regarding relegation...
Could such a loose connection as that help sway things in Town’s favour - or perhaps more accurately - I’m just an old desperado clutching at any straws whatsoever ! 😬
