Which way would you want it ending up? I will take either as long as not a draw.

Yep. A win either way.
Can’t work out if a win for Cardiff would give them more confidence or more chance of taking the foot off the pedal against us so I’ll just be happy if one of them wins.

Cardiff win for me..puts them on 49Pts , and 99.99% safe...makes the fixture with us less tense for them, their fans more chilled...
Rotherham meanwhile might need to beat Wigan in the last game..which we might actually be thankful for..

On reflection I would marginally go for a Rotherham win, that way we would have the opportunity to go above Cardiff if we beat them. Rotherham’s last 2 are Boro at home who will be resting players for the play offs and Wigan who I think will be down by then. Cardiff have Burnley away who despite losing on Saturday must be hoping for a great send off to the PL

Cardiff's goal difference is 3 worse than Rotherham's but better than ours so ideally you'd want Rotherham to win.

Cardiff win for me, them in holiday mode come Sunday.
That’d also mean Burnley can’t fuck us over anymore this season too. Wankers.

A draw gives them both 47 points & possible safety with Reading facing a buoyant Wigan on Saturday......also the only game on skybet you can't bet on at the moment.

Prob a cardiff win and they can ease off gas Vs us as almost be safe.
Reality will be anything but

Nailed on draw I reckon, really can’t decide who I want to win, maybe Cardiff as I think Rotherham could panic having looked safeish for a while, and maybe Cardiff won’t be as arsed come Sunday.

Some good points on the merits of both sides winning this one here on this thread, with the leanings tilting slightly in the favour of a Cardiff win at the minute...
I definitely wouldn’t want to see any Cardiff players injured in order to aid our survival - but would happily accept seeing them down to ten men if it meant weakening them a little by way of suspensions -
Even a booking that would take any players (especially key ones) that might play v Town and do us damage would suffice - but I’m not sure if there are any walking a suspension tightrope or not...
Desperate I know - but desperate times need desperate measures and the amount of times that I said ‘every little helps’ in the run up to yesterday’s fixtures had ma old in age - but youthful in mind - maw (that I’m visiting just now) say ‘You should get a job with Tesco’ !!! 😊

Cardiff will want to make sure they get the result they thought they were going to get first time round.
Definitely a bit of needle you’d think?

Lets not forget if Cardiff travel back from South Yorks on Thursday night (or on piss if they win) after the game they will get back at around 1st light Friday & be pretty worn out by Sunday at noon (we hope), Town on the other hand have a leisurely drive down on Saturday for a stop over & back to Hudders for around 10pm latest on Sunday to prepare for the Blades......Cardiff 0 Town 2 & party time.

I couldn't care less who wins. The only thing that matters is that we win our next two to take all the pressure off that last day.

I'd say Rotherham are bound to win, that's just the way these things go when Cardiff were winning the first game

I suppose if Cardiff win and go to 49 points, then on Saturday Wigan win at reading (or draw) then Cardiff are 100% safe. They can then relax, rest some of their players and bring in some 'fringe' players against us. It would certainly take all the intensity out of their game with us (from their viewpoint)..and their fans will just be in party mood..last thing we want is a febrile atmosphere at Cardiff..
Then we beat Cardiff and join in the party..............drinks all round eh..

Wonder if any stats exist on this kind of thing? Whether youre better off playing against a side who are under intense pressure of needing a result.. or one who are 'on the beach' so can play without all that weight on their shoulders? Personally I think if we go to Cardiff with them still needing results and take a lead, then the tension and the pressure from the home ends is going to ramp up a hell of a lot.

I've said this on another thread, but the way I look at it is this. Would I be more confident of Town beating Reading if we are definitely safe or if we need something to stay up? For me, it's the former, so applying the same logic I'd rather Cardiff lose to Rotherham and are still in danger come Sunday.

I think there's a general consensus that grounds which have a noisy, intense set of supporters are difficult places to play at..(so they say)..I think of Millwall, as an example..I'd rather Cardiff were not whipped up into a frenzy against us tbh in what is likely to be a close game. Whether the stats support that I don't know, but I'd rather not find out..

Was thinking the same - part of me wonders if us going there with cardiff needing something is more of a warnock type game.

Perfect scenario.
Cardiff beat rovrum Wigan beat Reading Boro beat rovrum Town beat cardiff Town draw with blades
Easy on paper, but football is played on grass and reality is we’re most likely to be bottom 3 come 17:00 on sat

The 2 week break will have given the lads some rest so they will be fresh for Sundays game..also its 2 more weeks for Neil to work on the lads
With Cardiff playing Rotherham this week and having no rest like us,,I see nothing but a strong Town win on Sunday...we should be physically and mentally stronger for this one
