I never got the big deal over Nick. Annoying but hardly world-ending. Although I think I've said before he was banned not TOO long after I re-entered the DATM fray so maybe I hadn't had time to get truly annoyed by him  I'd let him come back,just to see others crying about it,,but some won't tolerate people who are a bit different,instead of ignoring it they find it easier to throw insults and report them |

Fine by me. Much prefer the route the current admins go down compared to the powertrippers we had previously. I think the board has been running a lot smoother since the change and I’m glad the current admin team explain their decisions. Absolutely. This group of admins are streets ahead. The 3 admins approach with sensibility, like they say people who consistently abuse the rules will be monitored, will have more leeway, but not life ban free, rules have just been eased to allow for minor Fallings out, which a lot of them basically are. Time will tell, at the end of the day we are all HTFC and want what's best for the club. |

Seems like sensible changes to me. Why people think the use of any expletives should be fine on a forum when, I hope, you would not use them in any other public place, baffles me. The English language gives you so many ways to get your point across why is there a need to swear? how is one supposed to describe fotheringham? An ex Head Coach?  |

I'd like to point out that last time the subject of 'swearing' was debated on here, any changes were put to a public vote. The forum voted for unrestricted swearing ie. anything goes. What now makes Admins think that they can decide on the forum's behalf to make this change? As far as I can tell, there's been no 'public' issue with swearing on here, so why are Admins' personal preferences now more important than those of the great unwashed? Would be interested to hear a response to this from the admins. What has sparked this censoring of words other than personal preference from 3 people? You won't get a response, looking at the 1st post from the faceless "admin" account. It appears that 3??? anonymous blokes on a football forum have decided that they know what's best for Huddersfield Town fans, and they are so certain in their reasoning that the rest of us don't get an opinion on the matter. The ‘Admin’ account was used to signify the depth of the post meaning - it may not have been noted under one of the Admin’s own usernames. The Admin account has been in use for a long time, it’s nothing new. 2. The change of the use of the C word was taken sometime ago and the reasons given by Keith at the time. A poll was run on forum swearing a long while ago, preceding our time as Admins, and the response level was really low. The general feeling was swearing should be allowed so it has been. Arbitrarily, the majority of the current Admins felt changing the C word to ‘card’ was needed to try keep the forum a welcoming place that anyone can read and feel comfortable posting on. Possibly we can look at changing it to read c*** if that’s more palatable for the masses? As has been stated before, Admin roles are always made open to everyone when vacant. Decisions are taken between us on a low level - such as this relaxing of the rules. Anything major we would run a vote on. We do try hard to stay in the background as much as possible, as Admins should do. 3. Power mad c***ts is NOT what Overton, Keith are. You couldn’t be further from the truth. However, if you want to continue down that route feel free. You may one day find this forum under control of some real power mad c***ts and then you’d feel the difference! We do this job to keep the forum ticking over and growing, not for pay (there isn’t any), for respect or for gratitude. As before, if one or all of us were deemed to be not up to the job, we would step down. I don’t personally feel there is that groundswell of opinion. Yet! We know and appreciate attitudes change and they will towards us in time. It’s natural. Hopefully we get out before then. Any further issues or concerns, or in the case abuse towards us, feel free to PM and keep it off this thread. I am always happy to discuss matters in a civil way as I’m sure Keith and Overton are too. |
