Pearson is a strange one

Just like last season, he's like bambi on ice when he has the ball at his feet. You've absolutely no idea what he's going to do or where the ball will end up.

But he defends quite well and causes mayhem in the opposition box. We'd probably have been safe by now if he had been fit all season.

I prefer Helik, he's a more polished version of Pearson. Got a mistake or lapse of concentration in him like most at this level but I think every championship team would be happy to have him and you can't say that about many of our players.

Special mention for Rudoni too. To have played every game in his first season at this level is some going. He hasn't contributed much in terms of goals and assists but he's always one of our busiest players and 3 managers picking him every week tells you something.

I’ll put forward Koroma.

Most of the other players that are suggested will be purely down to having played most of (or all of) the games.

Koroma hasn’t played much but he’s been instrumental in the turnaround in form, more so than any other player I would say.

Bar one or two lapses, Helik has been outstanding. Gets my vote. Pearson takes 2nd and Rudoni 3rd. Rudoni has taken ages to find his feet, but he's tried hard all season and will hopefully continue to make progress next.

To be honest it is player of the season since March... Koroma or Pearson.

I think I’ll pass on this one until Tuesday next week - There could be some crazy dramatic incidents up until the last minute in this craziest of Championships...

Say Nicholls saves an injury time penalty v Reading that keeps Town up -

Perhaps a Wigan player scores in injury time to relegate Rotherham United, that might end up garnering a few crazy votes as a Town player of the year given the circumstances...

Maybe Hungbo will score a Hat-Trick v Sheffield United (No I’m not on the sauce - just yet - but ya get the drift) 

Just hope we have one last hero left - unlikely or obvious - but one more hero nonetheless ! 😊

Helik.

I don't think you can give it to someone who hasn't played most games this season. Otherwise Pearson or Nicholls might have got the nod.

Rudoni would be my 2nd choice but he divides opinion. A few weeks ago a lot of people were saying he was shit. FTR I've been hugely impressed with him. Really versatile, doing every part of a midfield role you could wish for and always being at least ok, and sometimes very good.

I love the Keighley Cannavaro but he hasn't played enough due to injury - he & Hogg are prime examples of how a player can have a very good career by working hard, having the right mentality & making the best of their limited football talents.

Rudoni has done incredibly well to play all season, cover multiple positions & never give up despite not getting the results he thought he would be doing. We have had to rely on him all season, when he, ideally, would have been slowly integrated, like Burnley have done with Twine.

Has to be Helik for me though, Lees hasn't been anywhere near last year's form, we've obviously missed Nicholls in goal, Turton has been badly missed (never thought I'd be writing that after his first few months at the club) & Toff has been a massive loss too. Without Helik holding us together, like he has, I reckon we'd have been long relegated by now.

Pearson - missed a large chunk of games but has done really well since he got back upto match fitness.

Koroma - done brilliantly since back but only played a handful of games.

Rudhoni - improved under warnock

Has to be Tom Lees for me. Purely for the amount of games and has been consistent.

Been a crap season, but more than likely will end on a high (not Scott!!). I would give a team aWard instead of individual, 3 different managers to play under, and barring a complete disaster, as a team after being dead and buried have almost come through the impossible.

Think Koroma / Pearson have turned us around under Warnock though but probably fair to give it one of former two.

Nobody has been outstanding this season, two thirds of the season we were rubbish, even though hes prone to the odd mistake (Coventry at home) Helik has generally been pretty consistent so maybe him.
I also like both Pearson and Lees, Rudoni has played regularly under all town managers this season so hes well regarded...but i'll go for Helik.

Perhaps not as brilliant as last season, but pretty much consistently really good all season. Loads of great saves and a commanding presence.

Come straight back in as soon as he’s fit, displacing Vaclik, who had just hit great form and being in the latest international squads, and then pulls of that save towards the end of the game, then comes and claims the ball from the corner (I think).

Not that high a bar to be fair, but Helik or Rudini for me.
Both have been consistently 'ok' in a season where even that makes them our best.

The bar is pretty low for this accolade this season but I would concur, Helik has been a decent signing and wins. Although Pearson has weighed in with some bloody vital goals and if it wasn't for his injury probably would have won.

Consistently much worse than Helik.
